Mhmmm.... what was up with that eppy??
I loved the idea, loved that we got so many Jack and Ianto scenes (and Ianto saved the day FTW!!), those circus people were really scary BUT there were some really, really weird cuts and it almost felt like they showed just some rough cut with scenes still missing. :34853_huh:
Maybe I was too tired to get it but how was the scene at the beginning with the little girl and her mother (? older sister?) connected to the rest of the eppy? Okay, the kid accepted the ticket to the show and was sucked into the show and then suddenly everything was gone and that woman was left behind alone. It sure looked cool but who was the woman and the little girl? Did we ever see them again? Why was it important that the girl accepted the ticket? Later we saw that the circus people took people whether or not they accepted the ticket by taking away their last breath. And their bodies were left behind, only paralyzed.
Was that ever explained? It was like at an early writing stage they wanted to go with the ticket idea (Last Action Hero?) and then they decided, no the breath thing is cooler, but parts of the early draft still made it into the eppy but just didn't make sense anymore?
Then the whole final scene in the cinema... Owen is confronted with the creepy circus guy, creepy circus guy runs away and is suddenly chased by Ianto and Gwen?? When did that happen?? You'd usually get a scene where the chase starts... :34853_huh:
Then Ianto corners creepy guy, flask flies through the air and the last breathes are set free... and that was bad? I was confused for a moment there because I thought that was exactly what they wanted... :34853_huh: Guess I was wrong there since all but that little boy died. :34853_huh:
And then... why did the circus people hide some of their victims in that pool house thingy and left some of them behind?? :34853_huh:
Interesting part of the story: Jack was sent to investigate the circus people (btw did that Mermaid woman recognize him in the cinema? There was one veeeeery long look towards him and it didn't look like she recognized the danger, or felt threatened by being filmed).
Sent by who?
He avoided the answer by saying "long story" so it couldn't have been Torchwood (or UNIT) because Ianto knows about both, so no (big) explanations needed.
Time Agency? Unlikely, since he was the "man that can't die" already, so this was post- Satellite 5, post his time at the Time Agency.
The Doctor? Again... post Satellite 5 and Ianto knows about the Doctor...
Color me confused.... :34853_huh: :34853_huh: :34853_huh: :34853_huh:
(but also truly deeply madly in love with that Welsh teaboy  who looked just STELLAR last night!!)
