Hi all,

I'm new in the forum and don't know if this has been discussed before, but:
The comic book with th polar bear, was a Green Lanter book. As you might know, Green Lantern has a ring that grants him his power, however, the ring is not the only thing that he ineeds. Tto harness and focus the power of the ring, the wearer needs strong will power. This could be a hint on Walt's powers: he wants something, he gets it.

A friend told me that Superman is on the comic book, but I can't remember, anyone? Also, can anyone confirm if that particular comic book exists or was it made for the series?

Finally, since the book's language was spanish, could we asume that it belonged to Hurley?

Cheers,

Odddlaw

Someone somewhere has a translation and explanation of that comic book (which is real), but that's the first I heard about the ring and the willpower* -- thanks.* :)

(If I find the link to the comic book stuff, I'll post it in this thread.)

I think that Hurley might have even given Walt the book, They obviously knew each other

I thought Walt just found the comic book amongst the wreckage and just picked it up so he could read it and have something to do.

When Michael asks Walt where he got the comic, Walt says "Found it." I am remembering correctly, right?

Hmmm, Charlie wears a 2nd Tour of Finland Ring....he needs willpower to resist the heroin. Perhaps Charlie is the next Green Lantern. :lol2:

Thanks honbun! I was wondering if the comic book existed at all (within DC comics continuity I mean).

The thing with the comic book that nags me the most is the fact that it features a Polar bear (shown when Walt was reading it on the island and when Hurley was reading it on the plane...) that and the Green Lantern connection, plus the bird that crashed into his window when he was reading that book on australian birds... mmmm...

Plus, I don't know if it has been covered somewhere, but Walt is sometimes referred as the "luckiest kid" and Hurleyis a token for bad luck... any significance?
