I just found this article on yahoo.
http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080628/ap_on_re_eu/doomsday_collider

I thought I would post this here since it seems to have a connection with events that could be going on with Lost with possible black holes and everything. Are we all going to be sucked into a black hole in a month? :) Lets hope not.

But some critics fear the Large Hadron Collider could exceed physicists' wildest conjectures: Will it spawn a black hole that could swallow Earth? Or spit out particles that could turn the planet into a hot dead clump? This kind of fear is one of the reasons we're paying $4+ for a gallon of gas instead of using some new energy technology today :frown:

Scenario - 50,000 BCE

Bob the caveman: "Um Gawa!! I've just discovered fire!!!"

Glenda the cavewoman (Bob's wife): "PUT THAT OUT!!! And forget you ever invented it. It ....scares me ..."

Bob: "OK. Sorry dear. Should I go forage some berries for dinner?"

If the world has to end. It would be much cooler to go by way of a BlackHole. I mean, asteroid impact, world ending scenario is just so OldSkool...

CERN claims to be doing nothing more than what happens constantly in our upper atmosphere. And I trust everything I hear on the news and read on the internet....:bigrinan:

I'm not the type of person that freaks out everytime a new inovation comes along but this right here scares the heck out of me. It seems to serve no purpose. It's scientists once again trying to play god. I would rather them clone humans and everything then to start messing with black holes. I just saw some videos on youtube that are making me a lot more nervous.

Don't believe the hype. There is actually a man from Hawaii that is sueing CERN claiming it will end the world.

Plus, Michio Kaku says there is nothing to worry about. And I trust him more than the fear mongers that have used the internet to propagate their paranoia.
