Hey everyone…

Please consider voting for Cassie … aka “Miss Pussykatt” … in the wildcard vote for NBC’s America’s Got Tallent.

Click here for the Voting Page (http://www.nbc.com/Americas_Got_Talent/vote/register.shtml).

Cassie is actually Karri’s cousin.

NBC has a clip of her performance online here (http://www.nbc.com/Americas_Got_Talent/video/#mea=283837).

Hopefully, we can get a good turnout for her so she can have a second chance in the competition.

We can vote 10 times per email address and the deadline is 4:00 PM EDT on August 15th, 2008.

If you do cast a vote in support of Cassie please do let us know by posting in this thread.

I voted, had to lie about my location, I put in the only US zip code I know 90210. Good luck. Another in a long list of things that treat us Canadians as second class human beings. We invented Hockey you know, a Canadian invented Basketball as well, plus we just beat Argentina in Soccer(football for the rest of the world), So we ain't so dang bad, plus we make stronger beer. Oh and we have FREE health care, absolutely free we don't pay a cent for it,

Oh Canada.

Here's the youtube (http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9BGgUhW0LDY) clip for those of us :flag5: who can't see the other clips.

Sorta like another show *coughlastcomicstandingcough* that had a Canadian in the quarter finals and while we watched him perform, could read the notice on the bottom of our tv screens: "Canadians are not eligible to vote". :ohwell:

I voted.

That's too bad about the discrimination against Canadians in this voting. Does "54-40-or-fight!" means the Canadians of the 19th century voided all rights to vote in future media talent extravaganzas?

There is irony and hypocrisy here. A good friend of mine, T.M. Maple (may he rest in piece), sent me a CBC video years--"The Canadian Conspiracy"--which documented the Canadian infiltration of theh American entertainment and news industry: Lorne Greene, William Shatner, Michael J. Fox, Jennings at the ABC anchor desk, etc. Without these men and women, there would be no US entertainment industry!

Open the voting I say! Oh, Canada!

BOOOOOOOOOOOO!
You forced me to take time out of my life to get me to vote for something that I care very little about. Its not even related to lost. Why use this forums community or Losts popularity to further advance something some of us might not care about. Im seriously thinking about never using this site again. I come here for lost info, NOT to be asked to vote for some members relative. Ive never watched that show nor plan to. It would also be unfair to any of the other contestants on that show if I was to vote for someone because they are related to a mod on this board.

Best of luck to her, really. But Id rather not be bothered on a lost board with things unrelated to lost.

Not sure how, exactly, you were forced into voting. It was just a simple request.

I do not watch the show either, but was more than happy to watch the 3 min video and vote to help out a fellow 'lager.

I think you ought to lighten up a bit.

Sorry to hear you're thinking about never using this site again. I guess that's our loss?

Thank you for voting! Watch to see if your favorite "Wildcard" act advances on September 3rd, 8/7c. Before then, make sure to catch NBC's full-coverage of the summer Olympics!

Ok, There you go! Took only a minute and I wish her the best of luck!

For us Canadians, you can always use the zip code you learned about in the early 90's...90210! ;)

I will cast 9 more. Oh, by the way...Do we get a special performance if she wins? Perhaps a YouTube thank you?

Go get 'em Cassie and good luck!

Best of luck to her, really. But Id rather not be bothered on a lost board with things unrelated to lost.In case you haven't noticed, the Fuselage is no longer a stand alone site. It is part of a network that includes The Fuselage, Flicks N Shows and now Fringe Division. All of the boards are linked, the membership is shared and there will be at least some overlap. So from time to time, there will be global announcements about things that have nothing to do with Lost. Yes I admit I am taking liberties with this because I am the admin and this is my cousin but heck, it isn't as though the site is swamped with much else during this time of year where this detracts from something more important. I know Cassie would appreciate the second chance on the show regardless if you watch it or not but if you feel you can't vote for her then that is your choice. Oh also, no one forced you to vote for her, we forced you to read our announcement thread asking you to vote for her which realistically took no more time out of your life than the few seconds to load the page with the thread and then for you to click away. I bet you spent more time making this post about how it took time out of your life than the time it actually took out of your life.

Usually it's a combination of call in votes and internet voting.

This time is a special online only vote, since they added it after the episode taped. Apparently a contestant that was picked into the final 40 had to withdraw due to an injury, and now 8 of the bubble contestants have a possible second chance.

Of course, I found a lot of the acts passed into the final 40 were horrible and all 8 of the wildcards deserve a spot more than many of these finalists. Of course, I'm biased against the fact this show allows way to many singers get through, at the detriment of the variety acts... That's what shows like American Idol are for. But then again, I know that these shows are rigged anyway by the producers for ratings purposes, so they always have a hand picked batch of bad acts they carry through just so they can be voted off later.

Im seriously thinking about never using this site again. With posts like that, I think most people around here might invite you never to use this site again. The 'Lage has a strong sense of community, and so the occasional off-topic post to help out that community is not only tolerated, but appreciated. Especially for Karri. If you don't like that, there are a number of other LOST oriented boards you can visit, but I warn you, they're not so pleasant and welcoming as this one.

Well said. This smacks of coercion. I've already seen posters state that Tommy is overreacting, but the way this thread was handled constitutes a slippery slope upon which I wish this otherwise excellent LOST site had never climbed. In the future will we be diverted to a political campaign site, or to the you-tube banjo debut of one the moderator's favorite nieces? Get Lost.

And finally, how about some respect for the sanctity of the voting process? Every one of the first 20+ replies on this thread supported the indicated performance - which suggests that none (or very few) of them even bothered to check out the competetion. Too lame.

As Karri previously stated, The Fuselage is now linked with Flicks N Shows (where this post was originally posted) and Fringe Division. If you don't want to see posts from the other 2 boards, go to your User CP and exclude them.

Complaining takes lots of energy. If you don't want to deal with it, click the little 'x' in the upper right hand corner and what you don't want to deal with will just go away. ;)

You are the fourth poster to suggest that Tommy either keep his opinion to himself or find the exit. Don't kid yourself about being part of a "pleasant and welcoming" movement.

This thread reminds me of the injured basketball player being brought into a game on crutches, while the defense sits idle, to shoot a record-breaking basket. So much for winning on any type of merit.

Karri's excuse that the other competitors are similarly maximizing the rules is lame. That said, if enduring such heavy-handed INFREQUENT compulsory threads is the price for enjoying this site, I shall endeavor to persevere.

Your response fails on two fronts. Firstly, you are complaining about someone else having the nerve to complain. Please find time to introduce yourself to the kettle.

Secondly, you blame me for having viewed a thread which I was compelled to read. I guess you'll only tolerate replies of effusive praise or silence.

In an attempt at relevance, I'll add that most of the sycophants responding to this thread must be adherents to the John "I really feel I know what I'm doing" Locke school of thinking.

And if you don't like my reply, why not follow your own advice and lump it?

I feel you are being terribly unfair. This is the first time that Karri has asked for help by taking you to an announcement and its under special circumstances. Im sure that if you had a wildcard act in America's Got Talent, you would at least be able to make a thread about it. As I said special circumstances, doesnt mean they are going to link to a banjo playing relative of one of the mods etc. you are overreacting and its totally unfair on Karri. As I frequently say on the other site Im on, its her site and if she, just once or however many times, decides to make a change in the board, ie, ban someone, help out a relative by posting on her site whatever, it is her right to do so. Ok disagree with it but don't be rude about it, because more than anything else I think thats unfair.

Also Edmuse and Goddess are regular posters to this site, Goddess welcomed me in two years ago when I joined and they are both known to me and others as friendly welcoming people, they just know when people are being quite rude about something that really is quite small to ignore. Dont like the page - move on, read the title, not interesting, theres a link to the threaded board/user cp at the top of the page, it takes 5 extra seconds to do that, now are you really going to complain about 5 seconds of your life you could of spent doing something worthwhile? Oh and silence in this case would be better. How would you feel if we decided one of your relatives wasnt worth one thread on a board you created?

Also Karri, unfortunetly being in the UK I dont think I can vote, I definetly cant view and I dont have a zip code as Im not in the US, but good luck to your cousin anyway.

Gee, amigo perdido you think? What are you really saying here? You imply that the Administration of this board should be denigrated, censored, and/or condemned for the following reasons.

1.) Supporting and caring enough about someone or something to encourage others to cast a vote for them in a competition.

2.) Sharing a link and assuming members of a community based on the entertainment industry may be interested in voting on a relevant medium.

3.) Endorsing a candidate in a competition which we are able to choose freely for whom we cast our vote.

I completely disagree and I think your sarcasm is undeserved!

Furthermore, you insult me, yourself, and maybe even an entire race. Do not assume that I or any other poster here is a sycophant or did not watch the other videos in the competition before voting. Some may have and some may not have, that's their choice! There is a precedent for organizations; whether it be newspaper, magazine, television or websites endorsing candidates and/or propositions. The endorsement in question is especially relevant and appropriate, as it is for an entertainment based website, "Flicks and Shows". Your three posts are exaggerated in my opinion; they are an obviously transparent attempt to spin your argument to meet a self serving agenda. Seriously; a fair complaint is one thing, an unjustified insult is another. I personally feel you are completely out of line.

First, please show where I suggested anyone "should be denigrated, censored, and/or condemned." You are engaging in exactly the type of behavior you purport to condemn.

Secondly, it was exactly my intention to insult the type of rank adulation which you (and other individuals herein) exhibit, but please explain in detail how you think I've offended "an entire race."

Well if that was you intent, you succeed in self adulation. An exercise in semantics and/or an attempt to further define, nay dissect the contents of the preceding post is completely redundant. There is responsibility in speech; it's inherent from birth for all humanity. To use the word coercion in this situation denigrates the meaning for those who have really been subjected to that type of persuasion. I really don't have much more to add to my opinion and contempt for your statements.

Maybe you need to take a second and read Artie's first post. He asks everyone who voted for Cassie to post here. He didn't ask everyone who decided to watch all of the videos and vote for someone else to post here. This is a vote for Cassie thread, if you choose to not vote for her or to vote for someone else then fine. In honor of Tommy and Amigo Perdido, I just voted 10 times for MissPussyCat and I didn't watch the other contestants cause I just don't care about them.

I like Kerri and I will support her and her family just because she is such a nice person and always willing to help one of us when we have a problem or question. That is all I need to know.

America Has Talent, as with American Idol, is not really all about great talent, but more about popularity. Period. That is why Ryan Seacrest/A.I. encourages their voters to vote for their friends as many times as they possibly can, and not the person you think is the most talented.

As with Tommy and Amigo Perdido, that is my opinion and I have every right to express it in any way I feel necessary.

Not to mention I am MissPants, she is MissPussyCat, like birds of a feather... I like her name. Hee!

Not to be picky, but her stage name is Miss Pussykatt (love the "k" and "double t"). :) And if Cassie hasn't already auditioned for the Pussycat Dolls (I think there's an audition show for them), hint hint. ;)

She's beautiful and talented, so I am rooting for her. :) Sharon (who I don't really respect or esteem) did, however, make a very good point "I like your personality", and then there's those dimples and that smile... :thumbup1:

I'm just not sure if this show (and mainstream America) is ready to let someone in this "genre" win.

Amen! What exactly does it have to do with Lost? And why exactly am I forced to read it when logging on on the Fuse? Personally I think it's a form of abuse of the captain/moderator position. Can I, a simple member, do the same with a clear personal interest? No, of course not. No matter how much you try to defend it, it still is what it is. A captain using the Fuselage to promote a relative. I'm not even going into the moral aspects of it.

As for those who say we shouldn't be complaining...Um, what? I have the same rights on this board as everybody else. So when I'm irked about something I voice my opinion. I've never seen a similar campaign for any other member of the Fuselge, let alone someone who's not "captain".

As for those who say we shouldn't be complaining...Um, what? I have the same rights on this board as everybody else. So when I'm irked about something I voice my opinion. I've never seen a similar campaign for any other member of the Fuselge, let alone someone who's not "captain".

As has been stated before in this thread, The Fuselage now has 2 other sister sites - The Fringe and Flicks N' Shows. They are all connected. It encompasses all things TV.

If you don't like that, you are more than welcome to go into your usercp and exclude any forum you wish, so as not to view new posts or any other information relating to them.

You were not forced into anything. When the post popped up upon login, it would have taken you 3 seconds to read the title, figure out that it doesn't interest you and close the window. End of story.

If you had a relative / friend who was competing in a similar show, went into that network's thread and posted a blurb about that relative / friend, stating they were competing and providing the information so others could view their performance and if they liked what they saw, vote for that person - I'm sure the last thing that would happen would be for the mods and admins around here to start questioning your "morals".

Exactly how is it immoral to request help for a fellow human being, much less a relative?

And yes, you do have every right to voice your opinion. This is a community here. We're supposed to be here to read, learn, analyze and assist others (having a little fun is optional, lol).

Maybe I'm just too nice a person, but I'm very surprised that anyone could even see this as a misuse of the board - let alone admit to it. You have the right to complain. You have the right to speak your mind. But in this circumstance, personally, I feel that it comes across as selfish.

And that is my opinion.

I had clicked to submit a post on the Fuselage, and that's when the mandatory viewing of the page came up.

When I clicked back, it hadn't saved my post. I had to start again from scratch, and I had taken a bit of time wording what I was going to say. So hitting my "back" button didn't do anything.

If any of us tried this, we would be slapped on the wrist for soliciting votes, wouldn't we? I thought that posts that solicit are forbidden by site rules?

At least, that's just my opinion. I'm not trying to enforce anything or "play mod." I could be wrong about my interpretation.

It is forbidden to solicit votes, advertise or things of that nature without admin permission. I gave myself permission. Actually take that back... Artie gave himself permission since it was he that posted this thread.

While I'm sure one of the mods would be able to answer this better, I just skimmed through some of the site rules and didn't see anything related to soliciting 'votes'.

I thought that as long as it wasn't for profit, it was allowed.

Example: when people were posting links to petitions during the whole WGA Strike, wouldn't that be defined as soliciting? Yet, I don't remember anyone having a problem with that situation. :undecide:

As I can see that more and more people are having an issue with this situation, I will no longer express my opinion on the matter.

From now on - Agree to Disagree.

ETA: Just saw / read Karri's post and I guess I missed that part of the site rules.

My Bad.

I was just looking around and in the SYTYCD board and American Idol, there are threads there about voting for contestants. I'm just saying... I mean if Lost came up with an ep where it was up to the viewers to vote and pick an ending, I have a feeling that no one would complain if they were forced to read a thread about that.

Either way back to the part where this is the thread about voting for Cassie. If you didn't vote for her or have no interest then there really is no need to post and to continue to view this thread. I have noticed that Cassie's act is one that people either love or hate, there doesn't seem to be an in between and that can be seen here as well.

Would behaviour like that be tolerated from anyone else? If rules are made for ordinary users of the Fuselage and the other sites, surely the mods should also be expected to keep within those rules.

I don't mean to criticise the way these forums are moderated, but I do believe that the people running these forums should keep to the same rules as ordinary users.

If they asked for permission and I had a chance to review what it was they wanted to post and decide if I wanted this site associated with it then possibly, yes behavior like this would be tolerated. Where people get into trouble is when they post things BEFORE getting admin permission. And as I already said umpteen posts back, yes I am taking advantage of the fact that this is my site and I can basically do what I want with it. But something like this comes along how often? So yes I am going to do what I can to help get as many votes for Cassie as possible. If it were your family member I bet you would do the same.

Ok hate to be a killjoy but as I said before this is a thread for discussing Cassie, voting for Cassie or her part on the show. That's it. Everything else is off topic. If there are anymore questions about site policy post them to the questions for admins and mods board.

The purpose of those presentations is to entertain people, and she did that. At a very sparky way but she did it. Sometimes I got amazed: "Gosh, she's going to burn herself!" Some others I laughed, but didn't bored me at all. Just voted for her. Best of Luck Kiddo :)

The Wild Card voting round has come to an end. Thank you very much to everyone who took time out of your busy day to vote for Cassie. Now we sit and wait for them to tabulate and announce the results.

Thanks to everyone that voted for Cassie! Unfortunately she didn't get enough votes to be asked back but we appreciate everyone taking the time on her behalf. :)
