"He's pouring his own blood into Boone's arm now!"

Kate's response? "Okay. Okay. We'll carry her to him."

."I don't know my bloody blood type!

How do we take hot water???

That 'dilating thing....

"Somebody bloody has to!"

Good for him for taking Kate off to the side to talk to her instead of blurting it all out and scaring Clarie even more than she already was...

They certainly crammed a lot into this episode!

And in between those great comic lines - amazing dramatic lines such as

"He's pouring his own blood into Boone's arm right now." (When Kate asks him why Jack isn't coming.)

And after he tells Kate she has to deliver the baby - "Now he talked me through it; it's relatively simple." :D

."I don't know my bloody blood type!

That was my favorite quote too. It just sounded funny.

The credit for this goes to Jin. He was standing with Claire and motioned for them to go away and be quiet, and went back to comforting Claire.

It was great to see our old loveable Charlie again. The I don't know my bloody blood type was classic.

Very nice to see Charlie again. From the previews, I was expecting Charlie to be all "Oh no, I can't, I can't do it" and just be a quivering mess. Instead, he followed Jack's instructions about the blood types and gave a good bit of snark back to Jack. He wanted to give Kate some help, but I loved that Jin, without words, basically said "No, just stay here. Let her do it". Charlie had to do some "letting go" himself about Claire.

True..but the old Charlie would have ignored him and just said the first thing that came to his head and discretion would have been out the window...

The episode description in the tv guide made it sound like charlie was going to break down... but he didnt at all... he was back to good old charlie... with the amusing lines, but still helping. yay!

I know and I'm glad they didn't write it that way. He's already freaked out once and to do it again would be so redundant...he seemed a little on edge but I thought he held it together pretty well. Of course he also had Jin there to serve as anchor...

Totally- the description said that Claire would go into labor and Charlie would act helpless!~ He didn't act helpless- he was concerned, but Jin made him stay a distance away on the log and not get into the way. I think he could have held Claire's hand at least, let her killer fingernails dig into his palms...

Actually, my favorite line last night wasn't a line at all. It was when Charlie got up to go help Claire and Kate and Jin grabs him and gives him that look, "Dude, you don't want to get into this!!!!" and Charlie just sits down! Hilarious!

Jin was awesome in this epi, Charlie too - but I was really bugged by the way they sat in the background throughout the labor. They may as well have been in a hospital waiting room. Charlie could and should have been at Claire's side, "coaching" her through the birth.

Why?* I know everyone LOVES the Charlie/Claire ship (as do I), but Claire still doesn't remember their "relationship" (does she?* I know she remembered the peanut butter, but I thought that was all).

I think having Charlie there to coach her, would be akin to having Sawyer or Michael or Hurley or Jin (THAT would be hilarious.....Jin speaking to her in Korean; Claire yelling at him "What the hell are you saying?!?!?") or some random red-shirt male coaching her.* I understand that she's relatively close to the other "main" Lostaways.* But until she regains her memory or rebuilds her (previously) budding relationship with Charlie, I just think it would've been weird for Charlie to be right there during the birthing process.*

I love Charlie, but never seen him as cute, until he was sitting there watching Claire. His hair has grown a bit, and he looked so scared and sweet.

Good for you! I am embarrassed to admit that I _am_ a universal donor (O+), but I am so freaked out about needles that I don't donate. Every time I go to my mom's house, she claims all of her coffee mugs are dirty so I have to drink out of her Gold Level donor mug from the American Red Cross, and then asks me if the coffee tastes bitter... ;D

oh, thats awful!! Don't feel too bad tho. Ive never even donated at all.... when i was finally of age in high school, I was sick the day of the blood drive. At college they never advirtised... id walk to class and go by one and wouldnt have time. Then I got a few tattoos... But, now, i think i can... so, ill have to ask around to see when the next is... I should, needles dont bother me.. (I have years of allergy shots to thank for that ;D)

Points well taken. I watched the show again last night and got a lot more out of it, also realized I was very wrong about a couple of things (serves me right for watching the tape at 3 am the first time).

Onsecond viewing, I see that Charlie did try to go to Claire, but Jin gently stopped him, kept him still and calm. I suppose if Claire had wanted Charlie at her side she would have called out for him.

I have always been a Jack's girl but Charlie is winning me over, he is adorable. It is getting close for me to sign up at Charlie's threads. :lol2:
