upon examination, my theory was proven correct.

the photoshopped screen cap I made in the OP was done using what most Sci-Fi fans know as a chestburster...

it was one thing I thought could be found in the pilot. (not really, but I wanted to make use of the whole IN THE PILOT idea)

ah, i have seen Alien 1 & 2, but as I said, it was ages ago. I was only about 12-13. the pic is good though.

I joined up with the Fuselage rather late and will never be able to read through all the past forums but for me, the big clue being overlooked in the pilot is in the scene showing the night sky over the island. No way can you see the Little Dipper in it's entirety nor with that much clarity and closeness down in the Southern Hemisphere where the island is supposedly located. Only place the Dipper is visible like that is in the far upper NORTHERN hemispere
