i saw the trailer for it the other night during one show and i thought it did look good. i think i will give it chance. it seems as though they are going to try to make it a bit more interesting. OTOH they may have just shoved all the good parts in to the trailer. :71: hope it is the former rather than the latter. ;)

I think I'm going to pass on this one. All I can picture is a little less silly Gilligan's Island. He can't be saved or no program, he will build amazing contraptions and never get seriously sick that some "magical" cure can't be found for.

I am going to give it a try as well, it has potential I think.

:71: you have really become jaded, haven't you? :71: in all fairness, i had pictured it as a less emo! and far more pretty version of Castaway. :biglaugh: i guess we are on opposite sides of that spectrum. ;) i am shallow, i am going to watch for the pretty. plus they have listed Sam Neil and Sean Bean, so yeah going to give it a try.

Oh definitely jaded (although I prefer emeralds!) but you to bring up a couple of eye candy prospects I hadn't thought about.........hmmmmm

I just love Sam Neil....he's always been a favorite of mine. It's on Friday nights which isn't a good night for TV, showbiz wise. You might be right, halfrek, it's possible that they've shown us the really good parts already. I'm going to give it a go.....if it's too cheezy they'll just cancel it. I'll remain hopeful.

wanders.......I think the contraptions are one of the reasons why I like this kind of show. I have great interest in ancient technology....maybe that's why. I hope they give him a really cool tree house to live in.

I'm glad to see others will try to catch the show.....Karri, halfrek. Hope to see you here after the pilot.

Have to give it a chance. Not enough sword fighting on TV these days.

so, i watched the pilot. :undecide: not sure what to say about it.

i hated the camera work when they were "preparing" for battle. zoom in, zoom out, floaty camera. ugh! headache time for me as it makes me motion sick. did not like how disjointed the story seemed. not sure how they are going to be able to tell more stories without it being "pirate of the week" or "accidental tourist on the island" each week. :71:

i DID like the flashback storytelling, giving us more about who he was and who he is now. i liked that he and Friday are brothers. they are a good team. i liked all the McGyver type gadgets. that is one fine tree house he has there. ;)

overall, i just cannot seem to find this a compelling show. i will give it one more chance or maybe two just b/c the leads are pretty. hope it becomes something more.

I don't know how they can sustain the story either. MacGyver definitely came to mind.

More like Pirates of the Caribbean than Robinson Crusoe and let's throw in a little Count of Monte Cristo.

Pretty filming location.

Yet inaccurate information.

Piranhas (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Piranha) are found only in the Amazon basin, in the Orinoco, in rivers of the Guyanas, in the Paraguay-Paraná, and in the São Francisco River systems; some species of piranha have extremely broad geographic ranges, occurring in more than one of the major basins mentioned above, whereas others appear to have much more limited distributions.

And I'm LOL about the dive over the waterfall

Oh and trebuchet ?

John Locke's favorite part of mouse trap!;) and hatch opener (that didn't work)
Didn't watch it but I am not surprised about any of the comments.

Okay....if nothing else he did get a cool tree house. I confess that I fell asleep during the second half....I did tape it though. I'll have to say the first half was "okay".....nothing that would make me say I can't wait for the next ep. Something to watch on a Friday night....we'll see how it goes.

Now, on the other hand "My Own Worst Enemy". Very much in the line of Bourne Identity. I'm really liking it.
