O M G!! this had to be the best episode yet! even from the previews last week, i had no idea jason was going to react the way he did toward sookie. i know he was in withdrawal from the Vblood, but hitting her like that? i'm glad she's angry with him, because i think he needs to get his stuff together. i don't think he does, because i read in next week's TVguide

Jason goes to Fangtasia

i was so pumped when sookie got all dressed up pretty in the nightgown and started running through the woods to bill. was that hot or what? and also, it doesn't look like what he did to her was a dream since the previews show

sookie has bite marks on her neck!

this is the first episode i watched over right away. totally awesome :roflmao:and can't wait for next week!

I totally agree!!! I thought Jason would do that to Sookie but never thought it would be because of Gran's death, I always figured it wol dbe because she hooke dup with Bill.

I totally called it with Bill sleeping under the house. :) At the beginning of the ep when he didn't want to leave Sookie, I thought to myself hay he can stay under the house, it would be totally safe there and lo and behold he sleeps under his own house!!! :)

When Sookie was listening to Sam's thoughts the sound in the background that she had described totally sounded like a dog panting to me. That and Bill told him to stop trying to mark his territory.

Sam's attitude towards Sookie is really starting to get on my nerves though. I do like him with Terra though.

Loved Bill freaking out when he thought Sookie was being strangled. Also I am a total sucker for scenes like Sookie putting on the white virginal night gown and going running barefoot into the woods and Bill busting through the door to go scoop her up and take her inside.

One thing from the promo for next week that bothered me though Sookie is walking around with her hair up showing off her big ole fresh Vamp hickey like it was this big badge of honor. That really doesn't seem like her at all.

i agree, karri! with all the crap that people said about her at the funeral, you would think that she would try to hide a little bit of her life. not that anything that those people said was true, but she doesn't need to advertise what she's doing.

speaking of those people talking about her, i thought i'd die listening to them. it was horrible. they're all sitting there paying respect to gran and they're saying bad things about her granddaughter. even the sheriff.

i have to watch it again. i didn't realize bill was sleeping under her house.

tara and her cousin.....too friggin funny. i don't know what i'm more excited to see, sooke and bill or tara and lafayette!

no, Bill is sleeping under HIS house.

Tara just rocks! i love her character. Lafayette cracks me up. the two of them are priceless.

i like Sam with Tara, i just hate how she "hurts" him each time, esp this time when she left.

Bill and Sookie! finally! i have to wonder though what exactly made her decide to run off and have Bill for second dessert. :71:

i read a comment on a friends LJ about Sam, i will spoiler font it as it has to do with the books and hasn't been shown yet. she commented that she wondered when Sam would tell her about himself. apparently in the books by this point in the story, he has outed himself. she suspected that they may wait until S2 for that revelation. i have no idea myself as i have not read the books. but that is not the first time i had read that about Sam. another friend answered one of my rhetorical questions instead of playing along. :71:

Oh... actually... that is EXACTLY what I would be doing! :71: You all think I'm sleeping with the vampire? Oh hey LOOK at me, I AM! And I'm not ashamed about it!

That was probably not the reason why she slept with him but I can totally understand why she wouldn't hide it.
As for the reasons why she had Bill for 2nd dessert (:71: I like that :71: First pecan pie, then a serving of vampire) I think it is connected with the grave she found - his grave. I think it did something to her (although I don't know what) that made her make her decision. Realizing what he is, realizing that he's dead but a different kind of dead, wanting to be close to that after Gran died, death wish? I dunno but I have a feeling it is connected to seeing his grave.

Oh and did you notice? When Sam stood next to Sookie on the porch and she asked him to get Bill, he made this huffing/ growling sound and then when Bill stood outside the house watching it and the dog came up to him, the dog looked at Bill and made the exact same sound! :24:

that does sorta make sense. i also thought about her commenting that she was "numb" so perhaps she wanted to feel something. oh wait, wasn't that Buffy who said the same thing about her sleeping with Spike? :71:

i had the sound down too low so i didn't hear that exactly. i find it humorous that Bill seems to be MORE tolerant of the dog than he does of Sam. what's up with that?

maybe i missed something, but why did tara jump out of bed with sam afterwards? they just commented on the couple next door had made up. i realize that she wanted to work things out with her momma, but she really left sam wondering, what the heck.

the previews for next week show that
maybe tara's mom ain't lying about a demon being inside her:eek2:

Buffy = the original Fang Banger? :71: (Can I say Fang Banger?)

Maybe because he knows that the DOG is not a threat to his relationship with Sookie, whereas Sam might be. ;) Although I really have to wonder about Sam's feelings towards Sookie. The first time he had sex with Tara, I could dismiss it as a "one time only" plus at this point, he probably thought he doesn't have a chance with Sookie anyway. But now? They've been dating and kissing and even everything considered (well everything he knows), I don't know what gave him the impression that it's "over"? And Sam is not the Jason-type of guy...

maybe i missed something, but why did tara jump out of bed with sam afterwards? they just commented on the couple next door had made up. i realize that she wanted to work things out with her momma, but she really left sam wondering, what the heck.

I think she just wanted to get to her mom as quickly as possible. After she made up her mind, she couldn't just hang around with Sam for a "second serving". It's just one of these things that can wait once you made the decision.

I had a completely different interpretation of that scene..... Tara has been holding a torch for Jason for years....since they were kids, she's had this thing for him....
now, her & Sam hooked up, first time -- we're lonely, we like each other, it's just sex, why not?
and then this time, Sam said something about, fine but this time it has to mean something, I want more from this...whatever *paraphrasing here*
and, either it spooked her, being "real"
or, hearing the people in the next room brought her back to Jason in her head, and she's trying to reconcile that, her feelings for Jason, with what she's doing with Sam....

(Can I say Fang Banger?)

Sure can. :24:

I'm going to tread as lightly as I can in these threads because I just finished the 8th booth and the 3rd short story associated with the Sookie Stackhouse stories. And I did it in just 3 weeks. Addicted, no, not at all. :hypocrit:

I loved this episode, it needs to be the one they put up for an Emmy nod next year. Anna was brilliant, but then, so was everyone else, even the increasingly annoying Ryan Kwanton (are they ever going to show an episode where he keeps his pants on?). The writing was dead on, the music was fabulous, I had to download 3 or 4 of the songs, the cinematography was just gorgeous, and as stated earlier, the acting was impeccable.

The show has not outed Sam's big secret, not overtly, but man there have been a lot of hints. While I thought they might wait until next season to reveal Sam's secret, I think they have to do it this season. You can't lay out a bunch of hints and then expect people to remember them next year while you toy with a reveal. I now think Sookie's universe opens up dramatically in the next few episodes. Then again, they have begun to stray further and further from the book storyline, with some of the characters at least, that anything could happen to some of these people. Heck, some of these people aren't even in the books.

Regarding Sookie's flaunting her bite, I don't think you are seeing the whole picture. (speculation to follow, not based on the book, just images floating around There are screencaps out there that show Sookie at the bar, wearing a green and white scarf around her neck. I think there will be a scene where one of the Three Vampkateers outs her little secret. This confrontation in the bar will become a bit of a catalyst for a lot that is to come. Golly gee willikers, it's hard not to spit some things out.

Regarding Jason, the only thing you need to remember about Jason is he is very Selfish and very Narcissistic. He really needs to be reminded that life doesn't revolve around him, and that things going on in other people's lives matter too. He struck out at Sookie because HIS Gran had been taken away from HIM. While he might have been involved in the lives of the other two victims, he knows he didn't have anything to do with his Gran's death, but he knows Sookie brought a Vampire into the house. He was partly striking out at Bill, but being daytime, Sookie took the brunt of his anger. He thinks his initial assessment that Sookie shouldn't see Bill is right, and that both Sookie and his Gran were wrong. And since Sookie, in his mind, is behaving in the same manner that Maudette and Dawn did, he has rationalized that Sookie was the intended victim, which would leave His Gran still alive for Him. Interesting that Jason is probably the only other person, besides Bill, to immediately pick up on the fact that Sookie probably was the intended victim.

And I'm not going to go into details, but in the books, Bill's sleeping place is somewhere else. And this other location, and the manner in which he sleeps there, is cause for one of his fettishes. We've sort of seen one of his fettishes, and I'm kind of bummed we may not get this second one, cause it's both hilarious and a cause of some very HAWT scenes.

And yes, that last bit is a tease.

Although the phrase comes to mind: "Some fetishes should better be kept to yourself."
But that's just because of my constant obsession with one Welsh teaboy. :71:

OK, the fetish we've seen, under spoiler font, although we've seen it.

Bill likes to play with women's hair. We saw him ask her to let down her hair, then asked permission to feel it and then he couldn't resist moving in to smell it. That's not a typical first date type of request. In the books, there are many examples of Bill brushing her hair for her, even braiding it. In fact, the first time they actually get together, that's exactly what he's doing, braiding her hair. Happens the first night after Gran's death, not the second, and did not involve the Hammer Movie Lady in White costume and the run through the cemetary a la Dark Shadows. He's just braiding her hair, she's just relaxing into his quiet, and things happen, real organic like.

umm, OK, stopping there. I really do wish we'd get to see fettish number two, cause the possibilities on a Premium cable channel are endless. The next spoiler will be in case you want to know about the second one. I separated them so you can pick and choose which to read.

Bill sleeps in the ground, out in the cemetary, actually, and he sleeps in the nude. The rationale being that his clothes would get dirty in the ground, so less to clean this way. So, while getting his house re-wired and worked on, he added a nice, big shower and a hot tub, in his bathroom. Yup, the fettish is bathing, he really really likes it. The shower is for washing the dirt off, the hot tub is for relaxation, warming up, and for company.

As I've said, I hate the opening credits sequence, but I also start normal play just as the baptism is ending, and get the catch phrase of the song "I wanna do bad, bad things to you". Just waiting for the show to catch up to that sentiment.

Yes, it's real good this show is on HBO, I'm now watching Jason out behind the bar with Randy Sue, when Tara walks up and he just introduces her and invites her to join in. Yeah, that just wouldn't work on many other networks, now would it.

And yes to the More sentiment. Heck, in the book, Sookie did ask for more that first night, and it was accomplished in a most interesting way.

Ooh, and there was just a really cool promo for True Blood between episodes, and it showed more scenes. Looks like we might get Bill's second fettish after all. Wahoo!

I'm going to post a link to a screen cap from this eppy, well, actually two, that has the fandom all hot and bothered. I'll let you pick apart what it is about the pics that has everyone talking, but it's quite worth it once you see it. Oh, and if it's not OK to link to photobucket, go ahead and delete it, no biggie.

Fandom is all aflutter not on the scene and what was going on, except it was terribly romantic, but what was going on with a certain actor's body. The photo may need lightening up a bit, but check the pocket without the hand in it. As someone put it, when she made an icon "Not a Pen" and an arrow to said right pocket. i watched the episode again, and i dare say, it was better the second time around.

i did see where he was sleeping under his house. i would love to know just who was choking sookie! he had on a long-sleeve jean shirt, but i guess that may mean nothing. the part where sookie was angry with jason for bringing uncle bartlett and he says that gran and he bickered like family does mirror the relationship jason and sook have. poor girl.

again, i applaud the actress who plays tara. she was so good in this episode especially. when she was confronting her mamma in the cemetary and mamma said there was a demon in her, tara just burst out laughing. it was so perfect. not some manic laughter like so many do, but a perfect laugh. she needs an emmy nod!

i adore all on the show and cannot wait til this evening!!!
