Bored, bored, bored so I've decided to make a list of things that annoy me. List any of your own.

1) When people use two exclamation points.

2) When people use any number of periods other than three periods for an elipses.

3) When people can't spell a character's name correctly--especially when everyone else has clearly spelled it in the correct way.

4) When people don't know who the actors are on shows they like.

5) When people mix up a character and the actor who plays the character (i.e. "I met Spike at a convention" instead of "I met James Marsters at a convention").

6) When people refer to me as "girl". I have a name, you know my name, please refer to me as such.

The list goes on and on...

So, what irritates you?

Well if I really wanted to I could probably find LOTS and LOTS of things.* :lol2:

However, my goal for this year is to not be so easily bugged and be more patient.*
So nothing irritates me! *makes sure to only use one !)* hee hee*

*ohmmmm breathes deeply and reminds herself that nothing irritates her (except her boss)*

Wow, I love complaining. I could never give up being irritated by things. Good luck with that.

And I don't mind if people use one exclamation point or three or more--just never two.

jme
02-10-2005, 05:11 PM
LOL !!!!!!!!!!!

Well, I'm a complainer but I am trying very hard to not do it out loud. My diary on the other hand has turned into a full on rant book. ;D

Every year I pick something new to learn or do instead of a resolution. Last year, I learned to cook that mean kay se dilla, I was telling ya about. ha ha

This year, I'm trying to be positive and not complain as much because I noticed my daughter was starting to become a complainer too. I decided I should try to not pass that trait on to her if at all possible.

But now that you have me thinking of it ~ I really get irritated by drivers that don't use turn signals, that cut in front of you and that don't let you in to merge!!! aaarrrggghhh

*ohmmmm... it's ok, i'm not irritated, breathes deeply*

Dang theG ~ you got me craving a Milano cookie now!! :lol2:

theG

Gah! Two exclamation marks!

Anyway, I wrote an essay about the most memorable experience of my life: the first time I ate an Orange Milano cookie.

ORANGE MILANO COOKIES OWN YOU!

LOL ~ I am so sorry to have irritated you with the two exclamation points!
I'm laughing so hard right now my co-workers are giving me funny looks!! :lol2:

A stop at the store after work for me is the plan, must have cookies!!!!!!! ;D

I'm not laughing at you. :flower:

I know* :)

Have the co-workers stopped giving you strange looks?

jme
02-10-2005, 05:50 PM
No, they are always wondering why I laugh out loud at random.
It's kind of a daily occurance, since I play on the Fuselage instead of work.
I'm really good at delegating, so they do all my work and I play.
It's nice being the manager. ;D

1) When people use two exclamation points.

According to Terry Pratchett, using more than one exclamation point is clearly a sign of a man who wears his underwear on his head. :P :P

However, I happen to like multiple exclamation points, especially when miexed with ones, like this!!!!11!!1! :P :P ;)

You know what annoys me? Drama. I am so sick of it. It practically follows me around. I hate him, and I'm sick of it.

Also, people who are overly dramatic about bloody everything. I feel like whacking people like that over the head with an extrememly heavy object. (violent? me? never. )

When people use alot instead of a lot. It's two words, people! >:(

Needy people. People who refuse to take advice.

When TORC is down, or when there are no new posts.

Clementines with seeds. Having to get dressed up, but not like black tie. When swears seem to constitue 1/2 of someone's vocabulary. Going over the same music over and over and over and over again because two people who are always off key anyway can't learn their part. I could go on, but I shan't.

I'm easily annoyed, in case you haven't noticed. :P

So much irritates me, but I won't bore you with the gruesome details... ;)

~obvious spelling errors. I'm really sorry, but there is a big difference between 'whether' and 'weather.' sorry if that's mean of me! but please reread what you write. and when people say, "u r rite, thats kewl." *shudder*
~when my friend lies to my face. not anything big, but GOD I know you're lying!
~people who judge stuff before experiencing them. (ie. not trying new foods, claiming they hate Star Wars, and have never seen any of them etc)
~teachers who give mid-terms. lol. can you tell I'm studying?

This is an interesting thread.

Let's see, what irritates me?

1. I live in Atlanta where the traffic can be horrible so I hate it when people just cut you off. And I just love how some people don't use their turning signal until after they're in your lane.

2. People who think they're better than others

3. jerky teachers

4. People who go on and on and on and on about something I may have no clue about or something I don't want to hear (unfortunately, my grandma's the type of person that will talk about herself or what she did for hours and hardly leave space for you to say something).

5. This just happened today -- people who get mad at you because you "stole" their seat in English class. My friend was mad at me because I took "her" seat instead of the empty one next to "her" seat. Well, I just wanted to sit closer to my friends, and besides, she was still sitting next to her best friend. :P grrrrr I hate it when people get mad at me for the silliest reasons.

That bothers me too.

Also when people don't spell or use correct grammar.
People who assume thing.

Excessive netspeak. OMG, it's like so annoying when u try 2 read pplz posts n all u c iz letterz n #z instead of wordz. PDSM, but IMHO, ne1 who can't take the time 2 write out at least most of the words in their post needs 2 retake English. OBTW, have u ever noticed that excessive netspeak also comes with excessive misspellings? Itz like teh peoplez cant b bothrd to evne chk there speling. IRL they woodn't b abel to git away wiht it, but on puterz teh skiz teh limmet.

It also irritates me when people don't put their gender in their profile. I can understand why you might not want to put your age in, but I need to know what gender you are if we're having a conversation.

For example, say a person's username is FootFetish (I'm hoping no one has that username). FootFetish has failed to put FootFetish's gender in FootFetish's profile. So, I'm having a delightful convo with FootFetish but, because FootFetish has not revealed FootFetish's gender, I must refer to FootFetish as "FootFetish" at all times or "he/she/it" (let's not exclude hermaphrodites) or "they", and the latter two are a bit rude. I could ask FootFetish his/her/its gender, but that would be a bit of a hassle--and what if FootFetish has just logged off when I'm about to ask FootFetish his/her/its gender? And what if it turns out that FootFetish is actually a hyper-sensitive hermaphrodite and freaks out if I ask FootFetish his/her/its gender?

I don't think I've ever typed "Foot" and "Fetish" so much in my entire life.

One thing that irritates me is when people aren't open minded. For instance, let's say a person actually doesn't think Charlie is an adorable little love monkey and 1,000,000 raging Dom fans say that he is wrong because "he is adorable and he's the bestest thing on the planet!" This is to no one in particular but I just notice that a lot on the Charlie boards.

another thing that bugs me is when people dont use any punctuation of any sorts and they have a lot of run on sentences and they have words in their sentences like dont and cant but they dont bother to put in the apostophies it is quite tiresome to read and i usually just skip these posts i can live with typos especially if its dom but please put the effort in to at least make comprehanable sentences and words

Drew Goddard rocks, true dat!

Ok I have quite a few pet peeves, where do I start?

1.)Cell Phones--there is a place and time for these.* When a person is talking really loudly in a supermarket or grocery store, I dont want to hear their entire conversation.* And it's really rude to talk while your being checked out.* Not everyone has time to wait for you to get off the phone. Also people shouldn't talk on mobile's while riding bikes--it's amazing how many times I have actually seen people doing that.
2.)Washing Hands--People who dont wash their hands while using a public restroom, or they wash but dont dry--it's just as bad.
3.)Screaming children--No body should have to listen to that
4.) Incredibly slow drivers--sometimes they cause more accidents than the fast one's
5.)Rudeness, I was having lunch yesterday w/a friend an the waitress yelled at her to move her chair.* There's no reason for that.* Just cause they may be having a bad day doesn't mean everyone else has to.
6.)Racism and Bigotry--no explanation needed
7.)When in chatrooms, it is kind of annoying to read spoilers in the thread title--some of us try to keep away from those, but it's hard when it doesn't have a spoiler tag.
8.)This doesn't happen here that much, but over on the abc boards, some people have a tendency to turn strings into their own private chatrooms--that's what instant messenger is for
9.) Oh and this is the worst for me...People who abuse their pets--I think's it's worse that hitting a human cause they cant fight back.* Anyone who does that should be shot.

Ok, well that felt kinda good to get that all off my chest.* Thanks G for starting this string.* Tata. :)

I could not agree more. Earlier I was in a thread and I don't think there was a single piece of punctuation in it. I felt like I was going to die.
Also overly fanatical fans, which ties into your point about raging Dom fans.

Just had to chime in with my big peeves:

Bad grammar: I can't stand it when someone says "expresso" for espresso. Or "saposibly" for supposedly. I could go on with this one forever but the one that can't be left out is "irregardless". THERE IS NO such word, people! The word you're looking for is "regardless." And I'm right there with all of you on the internet speak.

Traffic: People who cut you off in traffic and then immediately apply their brakes! Like it was just so important for them to get in front of you. The whole "me first me first!" thing in traffic really chaps. Also, when someone pulls out in front of you, making you slow wayyy down, when there are NO CARS behind you! Couldn't they just have let you go by, then pulled out when it was all clear? Nope. They have to pull out right in front of YOU.

Belligerent Service Industry people: A waiter can make or break the dining experience. The food is secondary to the service. Also, retail or checkout people that make you feel like they are doing you a huge favor simply by glancing in your direction. And anyone helping me with anything, if I'm sitting right there, a customer, and they not only answer the telephone, but proceed to help the person on the phone before me! Hey! I'm right here! Hello! Remember me? The customer you had first? Politely ask the caller to hold! Argh!

Spazzy Newbies: I know there are many times when we are all new members of a site. But please...lurk first, get a feel for the place and the people before just diving in. I belong to a certain fan site that limits registrations. About once a month they open up for new people, and there's always chaos. This huge flood of people coming in and thinking they are so much cooler than all us old members because they *gasp* dare to bash everything in sight. News flash: If you're going to the trouble to register on a fan site, better not bash the theme, show, or person the site is set up for. It's a sure-fire way to piss off the locals. And it's rude. And no, it doesn't make you look cool. It makes you look stupid.

That's all that I can think of to gripe about right now...more later, I'm sure! :) Thanks for the thread!

I can't speak for the bad driving since I can't drive. And I've never really had a bad experience with age discimination. People actually think I'm older than my actual age mostly because of my height (I'm 5'7" in case anyone wanted to know) so no problem there.
But I do hate it when people give you rude/stupid nicknames. Like when I first was at my new school, I had very short bushy hair (In fact, still do except that is longer and less bushy). Everyone started calling me "Bush head" or "Bush girl". It got very irritating. Then I started getting called "Elk" because the initials on my backpack were all screwed up with my last initial in front of my second initial. Stupid L.L Bean. Gosh that just really ticks me off!!!

Ha! I never understood why you guys wore the red coats?

Red was chosen by Oliver Cromwell for the Parlimentarian army durin the civil war (1600s) between the Cavaliers and the Round heads (Round Heads won) - The reason that red was chosen was because - wait for it - red was the cheapset dye at the time (it had nothing to do with any thing deep and meaning full) - the reason you guys had blue was because the french wore blue and seen as though they were supplying you with stuff blue dye is what came over - and also we had been at war with the French not long before and they just wanted to get up our noses

Sarah: "Hello?"
Me: "Sarah, you fat lard, come get your ham." (she loves Napoleon Dynamite)
Sarah: "It's 'dinner', not 'ham'"
Me: "You know what? I don't have to call you up to try and brighten up your day. I don't have to be a good friend like that."
Sarah: "Yeah, I know 'cause I sooo don't have any friends." (her sarcasm sucks)
Me: "That's right--you don't because you don't appreciate us!"
Sarah: "Yeah, I know."
Me: "For real? For real, for real, for real?" (she says "for real?" after everything)

I hate when they get your order wrong. One time, my Mom, my sister and me were going through the Wendy's drive through. My Mom got her thing, I got chicken strips and my sister got a happy meal. Well, my chicken stips weren't going to be ready for another 4 minutes so we had to wait in the parking lot but they gave us the rest of the stuff we ordered. My om's fries weren't fully cooked and my sister recieved nothing but a toy and the bag. That's right NO food. My mom was really ticked off. It was quite annoying but kind of funny.

1. People who can't seem to complete even one simple task. In order for me to get my part of the job done, they have to complete theirs. It's not a difficult process. Assemble today's petitions then fax them to my office.* What exactly is the difficulty?

2.* People who don't listen. If I say someone is on vacation* or out of the office, they are not here.* And no I will not give you their private home or cell phone number.

3. Clueless interns. I'm already on the verge of strangling one unconscious this week.

Good one.* I've been running into that a lot lately.* >:(

Irresponsible pet owners irritate the heck out of me.* No, not irritate.* They flat out piss me off.*

There's an idiot in my mother's neighborhood who's keeps his dog out year round in all kinds of weather.* Heat, snow, rain, it doesn't matter. The only kind of shelter it has is a large plastic dog carrier and the dog didn't have that until the neighbor across the street called the Humane Society and reported the owner.* The dog is also usually tied up on a short chain or rope.* It barely has enough lead to move, but if it's left to run free, it jumps the fence into other people's yards. Which is a big worry considering the animal is a good sized pit bull.* *

I totally get what you're saying. Its a shame that your pooch catches the blame so much. He sounds like a sweety.

My mom's neighbor's dog is skittish and she barks when strangers and other dogs are around, but she's not vicious. She's just lonely, bored, and badly neglected. Pit bulls are generally very smart and active dogs so of course she's going to make a run for it whenever she gets the chance. I just hope she doesn't get herself into any kind of trouble because she'll be put down for sure. You know, now that I think about it, those same neighbors had a rottweiler a few years ago that kept escaping their backyard. I think it may have been hit by a car. Stupid people. It's a shame they can't ban bad owners from ever having pets again.

I thought we could all use this. It will come in handy. lol On this thread, you can vent and let out all of your frustration (not about anyone on the board, of course). Please respect the Fuselage rules. Now, go for it! Vent!

I had to make my LJ a "friends only" journal since a bunch of anonymous users were posting incredibly rude comments about me. People have never said horrible things like that to me. They were even cutting down my friends that were defending me. I like to argue when defending myself but it was getting way too out of hand that I had to delete all of the comments. The thing is that some of my internet friends don't have an LJ account; therefore, they will not be able to see my posts. I'm so mad. I don't understand why some people don't know when to stop. It frustrates the hell out of me. Mmk, I'm done.

the thing that gets ME all riled up is when people dont allow you to have your own opinion
Like okay I belong to ALOT of CSI sites some of which I had to leave JUST because I am a Nick and Sara Shipper NOT a Grissom and Sara Shipper (which I'M SORRY THATS JUST WRONG and I DONT see that ever happening) but yet I GET yelled at ,called names and stuff *rolls eyes*
and then IN A yahoo Group I GET CALLED A LIAR because they were negative all the time and I told them to have hope (because I pretty much know our ship will happen through spoilers and friends of friends) and DONT even get me started on my other LOST sites (not here but other places)
but COME ON whatever happened to people having thier own opinion??!!??

YES Thank you!! I totally agree with you I myself am confused on that one I LOVE the idea of Jack and Kate but then I also Love Sawyer and Kate but I'm not gonna judge because of that!!
yeah I admit I Have been known to be rather snobby to Grissom and Sara shippers but if You knew anything about the show You'd know why that is AND most of those fans are little 12 year old girls who dont know A THING about real love anyways  BUT I'm usually not snobby till I"m provoked Like I mean if some little 12 year old girl comes up to me and is all "I'm sorry but Sara and Nick are never gonna happen because its gonna be Grissom and Sara" I TOTALLY defend my ship and I can give them 30031 reasons why THIER SHIP wont happen HECK the Powers that be even SAID the ship is dead and gone but thats not even the point
AND THEN I've got little 12 year olds hating me because I look like Jorja Fox (Or so I'm told) CAN I help the way I look UH NO I dont think so!!
at another forum I had people hating me because i'm a Republican
Honestly WHY should any of that matter

My vent is on how much sports stars get paid. When in today's day and age Teachers are having to get second jobs because beting a teacher doesn't pay squat. Why do athletes get paid millions of dollars to play a GAME they love? To me it's totally rediculous to reward someone so friggin much to play a stinking game and no to reward people who are in charge of our future. I say we make a tax on sports stars and give that money to teachers to supliment their income.

No I'm not a teacher. I just sympathize with people who work so hard for such a little reward.

you are not dumb.* There are pathological liars who don't care about anyone and see their sense of fun as more important than anyone else. We were all subjected to several recently.* I personally hope we* never see them again, not my call.* To be honest I was quite angry at the "apology" and I use that term extremely loosely and equally concerned with the individuals who felt it was all in good fun, it just shows how some people never take responsibility for themselves or the effects they have on others. I have had far too much experience with this type of person in my own family and I do not accept these type of individuals well anymore or accept the 'cop out 'of "they are young" and they get a pass to continue as they wish.

IN THE TRASH!! and not on top of the trash, in the middle of the can!! my friend christie and i drove to where she works (20 miles away) and found her on her smoke break and gave them to her.

okay, leesha feels better
