View Full Version : The Others in The Greater Good *Spoilers*

The big question regarding the preview is whether or not Locke is actually shot, and whether or not Sayid did it. It's shown that Jack's key is gone, along with possibly the guns in the case. Some logical implications: Sayid took the key, and thats where he gets the gun he interrogates Locke with. But what if it was the others? What if they took the key, and they are the ones that shoot Locke? It could answer why hes wearing a different shirt (apparently) - perhaps it happens later.

The part i think is funny is that two episodes ago, if we had seen this preview, we would have been jumping all over the others. The latest two episodes haven't mentioned them at all, and noone on the boards is thinking of them. It would be the perfect surprise, shocker, etc if one of the others popped up. I remember thinking suddenly for no reason at all that Ethan was gonna get Jin last episode. I'm thinking they're deliberately playing down that storyline so it will be more shocking when they bring it back.

How did someone take the key from Jack's neck? Unless they cut the key off while he was sleeping.....

Thats what it looks like from the preview. Jack feels around his neck, looking like he just woke up, and then it cuts to him asking Kate if who was in there, because the key is gone.

Does anyone remember him wearing the key in this past episode? I didn't notice the key, but wasn't looking for it either.

he must get it back at some point, b/c Sayid definitely has one of the guns...

Jack was wearing the key in DNH, you can clearly see it when he's talking to Boone

Jack probably gets the key stolen when he attempts to jump Locke when he returns. Looking at the preview screen captures, he has it when Kate and Charlie (?) are holding him back. Most likely someone takes it off Jack, or it falls off, during the scuffle.

I couldn't find good screen captures to compare, but the gun Sayid has could be the one that Locke took off the drug runner/priest. I could see someone with his skills managing to get it away from Locke if Locke pulled it on him. Just a possibility.

That makes alot of sense..It does look like the one from the "priest"

one thing that i don.t think anyone has noticed is that locke is wearing a different coloured shirt in the shot where sayid is threatening him and the one where locke is actually shot.

i thought it was interesting. and the idea of one of the others shooting him is quite a fascinating one, also.

In the promo where Locke is getting shot, his shirt is wet. I don't think Sayid shoots him. We all know how promos can be so misleading!

that.s true!.

although when my friend and i were watching and rewatching the promo, he was wearing a salmon/blood stained coloured shirt and the other one was blue or brown or some other dark colour.

That would be interesting if one of "the others" starts playing the group against
one another. They need to assemble every one and learn who's who so that
no one can infiltrate and pretend to be one of the survivors.

Guns don't make that much smoke when you fire them, especially 9mm pistols, which is what the gang are using. Looks can be deceiving - remember that. Promos can be deceiving - remember that, also. I seriously doubt that Locke is getting shot. To me it looks like smoke arising from something, and Locks has his hands/arms up in worship, just like he did when it started raining on him and Boone in the jungle.

Having looked at the two pics that my fellow NAILSer provided, it's clear they are the same shirt.

It's just that in the second one where Locke gets shot, it's pouring down with rain, so the shirt looks darker where it's wet.

He's wearing it in every shot of him. That's interesting you didn't notice, because I thought they made a point of showing him with it on. Guess we just have so many things we're supposed to pay attention to with this show that we're bound to miss stuff. I know I miss tons of things!

I don't think Locke is getting shot, though I wouldn't be surprised if Shannon did take Sayid's gun and try to get him herself. Now that Boone's dead, she could realize she felt more for than she thought or seriously feel guilty about screwing him over as she did (no pun intended).

About Jack loosing the key; IN DNH when he was treating Boone, it looked as if the knot were about to "go up" at one point. I only noticed this since I had already seen the promos for TGG and knew about the key missing. Perhaps the knot just un-knoted itself and he just lost the key somewhere and someone found it ??? ??? ??? ???

Kate is pretty good at sleight of hand, and she got the key once before.

Even if someone found the key, would they know the significance (i.e. that it was THE key to the Halliburton case that contains four (?) guns and ammo)?* And if someone knew that, they would then have to know where the Halliburton is hidden in order to use the key.* My LOST memory is failing me big-time lately.......can someone help me out??* Does anyone besides Jack know the location of the Halliburton?* Locke was there when Jack revealed the case/guns, right?* And Sawyer was there to return "his" gun from the Ethan confrontation in HC?* (Or were Jack/Sawyer at a random "jungle spot" and Jack possibly returned the gun to the Halliburton without Sawyer being there?)

Witchy, I think Locke and Kate are the only two who've seen where Jack keeps the Halliburton. Locke saw in Homecoming, when Jack revealed the guns. Kate gave her gun back in Outlaws, and saw Jack put it back and hide the case in the bushes - it looked like the same spot as before. I think Sawyer returned his gun while Jack was out chopping wood in some random location, so he didn't see the hiding spot. And this is all assuming that Jack didn't switch hiding places (probably not, but I know I would have!) :)

*possible spoiler*

Guys, did you all notice thatin the scene where Locke gets 'shot', in the close foreground we see the back of someones head for a split-second? You have to freeze frame in order to ctach it, because it moves out of the shot pretty quickly, but it's definately there. It looks like someone with blonde hair and a ponytail. *hint, hint*

Gazza is right. If you hit the spoiler forum, you will learn that: someone disected all of the previews to determine that in the scene where it looks like Locke is getting shot, Shannon is actually the one in the scene with him. It was also determined that the gun that Sayid has is not a gun from Jack's case, but rather from the Nigerian Priest, which Locke left in the bag by the plane. It is also determined that the confrontation between Locke and Sayid happens at the Nigerian plane, so obviously Sayid finds the plane. Jack loses the key after the funeral, when he is sleeping/unconscious on the beach.

Oh, just head to the spoiler forum and look for the link the Husky provides where the guy complety disects the whole thing with screenshots for proof. It's hard to argue with him.

His conclusion is that Shannon actually does shoot at Locke. Whether she hits him or not is another matter.
