When the British (sounded British) soldiers were holding Juliet and threatening Sawyer, they threatened to cut Juliet's other hand off. In The Other Woman, Harper made a snarky comment about Juliet looking just like her - her being someone important to Ben...Annie? Were Sawyer and Juliet in a time frame with Annie approximately the same age as Juliet? Was Annie a threat to these same soldiers and whatever they were looking for or guarding?

they threatened to cut Juliet's other hand off.

My take on this is that they were going to cut off her hand right away then give her the option to answer. If they did not get what they wanted, then they were going to cut off her other hand.

That's what he said, Jones said he was going to cut of her first hand just to prove how serious they were, and then they would cut off the other one if they didn't answer questions.

I agree with pascalephoto, the soldier said that cutting off her first hand wasn't up for negotiation and would show that they were serious. They were talking about cutting off both of Juliet's hands, no one else.

This I do not know. With the time jumping I guess anything is possible.

Well Juliet has the wrong hair and eye color to be Annie. Why do people try to connect every female character with Annie? And those uniforms looked 50's era to me. And Annie was on the island in the 70s. Why do people try to complicate things that aren't complicated on this show? The soldiers were trying to get information out of Sawyer and Juliet who they viewed as enemies, the way to do that was to cut off Juliet's hand.

I personally think that Ben's obsession with Juliet has to do with her resembling his mother. She does not, in fact, resemble the child that we knew as Annie in the slightest, in my estimation. It may be possible that an adult version of Annie will somehow show up in a backstory of Ben's, but I've always thought that Juliet's resemblance was to Emily Linus, Ben's mother.:)

My feeling is that Ben's interest in Juliet was oedipal as well. Or, she resembles a female character we have yet to meet.

We may never know who Juliet resembles, but Ben is totally fixated/obsessed/possessive on her and this could be part of his downfall.
