I remember I read a theory a long time ago about when Boone died and Aaron was born, how some people thought that Aaron was the rebirth of Boone.
And then, some people have speculated that Jacob became Aaron.

Maybe we were having something suggested to us, with Boone's death and then almost at the same time Aaron's birth. And perhaps I'm really slow on the take and many people thought of this before, but rather than Boone or Jacob, maybe it was Christian somehow being reborn again in Aaron. It certainly would make sense that Jack, of all people (actually, including Claire, though ironically) shouldn't raise his father.

Now that would be weird...
I mean Jack or Claire raising his father...

But, isn't Claire supposed the only one who could raise Aaron???

Mmm.. I don't believe is any of them, Aaron is Aaron.
What I do believe is that Boone's death when the birth, might become an important factor (as in a prophecy), and so that Aaron could be parental related, in a way, to Jacob (and so with Christian would Jacob be related too)...

Aaron would be like the waited Shephard. Is interesting to compare this word to the word "Shepherd".

Maybe Boone's death's importance, relay on the promise Jack did to Boone about saving him at all costs... Since he couldn't do it with Boone, he would probably even give his life in order to save Aaron in the future.
Or too trite???

Boone's death at the moment of Aaron's birth suggests that birth on the Island may require a death in compensation. Considering that the Island is a place of Eternity, this makes sense. Because without death to balance birth, growth would be unchecked, and eventually this limited, closed system of the Island would be overrun with people - it would not be sustainable.

Secondly, names are important. Boone's name is highly evocative of the point of the Heroic Quest in Campbell's monomyth. Aaron is a "boon" to humanity.
