View Full Version : Will the Hurley Bird return ? Dadntyler 02-10-2009, 05:25 AM I pretty much got hooked on this website looking up info on that damn bird.. Did it have a significance and will we see it again ? Hunter_Of_The_Night 02-10-2009, 08:03 AM I sure hope we see it again it's a nice reminder of how spooky season 1 used to be, maybe if we get to see the French team explore the island it may turn up? I'm not sure what its significance is maybe a warning of danger? boncam 02-10-2009, 08:26 AM Charlotte will be the best candidate to see the Hurley bird. She should find its nest with a huge egg that is starting to hatch. drkollossus 02-10-2009, 09:35 AM The Darlton was just talking about this in the Official Pod Cast. JHM 02-10-2009, 10:25 AM The Darlton was just talking about this in the Official Pod Cast. Do you know what they said about it? What Would Jeff Do 02-10-2009, 10:57 AM Are people that curious about the bird? I've never thought about it twice since that episode. I guess I never considered it that big of a deal. xzeox 02-10-2009, 11:00 AM Are people that curious about the bird? I've never thought about it twice since that episode. I guess I never considered it that big of a deal. Well I'm sure when they show the the bird again this year and it is revealed as a major plot point, you will be sitting in front of your television and you'll say "I've made a huge mistake." JHM 02-10-2009, 11:03 AM Are people that curious about the bird? I've never thought about it twice since that episode. I guess I never considered it that big of a deal. Hadn't even thought about it until the OP brought it up, even then it took me a minute to even remember that scene. I was just curious what Darlton supposedly said about it boncam 02-10-2009, 11:16 AM Yes Carlton Cuse thought that a huge bird on the island would be awesome. It just shows that there are other never seen before species on the island like Arzt's finding new species of insects. NotAnOther89 02-10-2009, 02:01 PM I dont think they will explain it, in the podcast they pretty much joked that no one really cares about it and they dont really care about explaining it. Pretty much they just thought it would be cool, and the fact that it made a noise that sounded like Hurley was just an easter egg/recurring joke lostmoon 02-10-2009, 03:35 PM I dont think they will explain it, in the podcast they pretty much joked that no one really cares about it and they dont really care about explaining it. Pretty much they just thought it would be cool, and the fact that it made a noise that sounded like Hurley was just an easter egg/recurring joke They don't know what they are talking about! I want to know what that bird is, why is so big and why it calls 'Huurllleeeyy' lol Now seriously...I think that we'll see that bird again and they're just hiding the information, because it's their work to get us confused. pinkrose 02-10-2009, 03:42 PM I never thought it sounded like it was saying Hurley. I listened to it over and over, and I just couldn't hear it. It would be interesting if there's more to it, but I'm thinking not. NotAnOther89 02-10-2009, 04:36 PM It does sound like Hurley if you listen carefully both in season 1 and 2. Hurley even mentions this after seeing it the second time. pinkrose 02-10-2009, 04:44 PM I know he does. That's why I've always found it odd that I couldn't hear it. I usually pick up on little things like that, but not this time. lostmoon 02-10-2009, 05:17 PM Another thing to make Hurley think he is crazy. What Would Jeff Do 02-10-2009, 11:35 PM Well I'm sure when they show the the bird again this year and it is revealed as a major plot point, you will be sitting in front of your television and you'll say "I've made a huge mistake." Typical. Colonel Corn 02-12-2009, 08:10 PM You would think you would see more wildlife on the show, but you don't. There were boar in season 1, but you never see our guys plunging through the jungle and scare off a pack of birds that fly off real quick. Hunkyhurley 02-23-2009, 01:36 AM I know I heard it say Hurley...WHAT THE HELL KIND OF BIRD IS IT! please let us knowwww !!:34853_huh: boncam 02-23-2009, 02:54 AM Back in Season 3 on the Hydra island there was a large bird cage near where Sawyer was held. http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=75031&fullsize=1 Hunkyhurley 02-23-2009, 05:48 PM Back in Season 3 on the Hydra island there was a large bird cage near where Sawyer was held. So we know where the Hurley bird lived, but what is it?? If the writers dont answer this ( among other things) it will drive me nuts till the day I die, honestly. Dadntyler 02-25-2009, 05:14 AM Back in Season 3 on the Hydra island there was a large bird cage near where Sawyer was held. http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=75031&fullsize=1 It does appear to be a bird cage, but it could be a cage for anything really... maybe monkeys ? boncam 02-25-2009, 05:24 AM Yes I guess so. Monkeys we havent seen yet. ;) Shifty Bench 03-10-2009, 12:55 PM So we know where the Hurley bird lived, but what is it?? If the writers dont answer this ( among other things) it will drive me nuts till the day I die, honestly. Really? It's just a bird. It was used first as a 'jump' in season one, to give us a scare, that's all. Fans thought the bird said Hurley's name (which it didn't) so TPTB used that as an inside joke, a nod to the fans.I'm pretty sure Darltojn explained this in an early podcast. That's it though, I'm afraid, I very highly doubt there's anything else to it than that. boncam 03-13-2009, 07:07 AM I hope we will see the Hydra in the 70's. So that we can see the polar bears and maybe the Hurley Bird. middlenamewayne 03-15-2009, 02:55 AM Yes I guess so. Monkeys we haven't seen yet. ;) Flying monkeys!!! Seriously, though, on another thread someone mentioned that since tropical birds have fairly long lifespans, the "Hurley" bird could have easily been on the island since the 1970s. That means that Hurley could befriend a bird during the time period he is currently stuck in and teach it to talk. Then it would make perfect sense that the bird would fly by at some time after the crash of Oceanic 815, recognize his old pal from years gone by, and call out his name mid-flight! I really hope this ends up happening -- it really would be a nice little "tie-up" element to throw into the series! -- mnw |
