I absolutely loved the way that Rebecca Mader acted out her goodbye-scene. I am talking about when she tells her own backstory to Daniel. Maybe it's just me, but I completely bought it. The way she slowly starts crying while she's talking and her whole inner distress and some inner fear of a near-by death.

I never really paid much attention for Charlotte, she was mostly some kind of red-haired red-shirt for me. But -- ironically -- her dying scene made me like her and I am kinda bummed that her story ends here.

Just wanted to let y'all know :-)

I agree, it was beautifully done. :)

It's so sad that she died. I remember that in her first scene in the show, she was just breathless and excited watching the island. It was because she returned to the place she loved in her childhood...

Great actress!

She is. And there goes another one of my favorite characters. First Shannon, then Libby and Ana-Lucia and now her. I guess I should stick to the guys from now on.

You're right!
She will appear in front of Hurley and he will "....Dude!..."

I also thought she was great. Not just in her final scene, but throughout the entire episode. The scene where she wakes up and starts screaming in Korean to Jin was also haunting. Anyone know what she said?

Amazing performance.....

Yes, she was great on this episode.
But her last sentence in one of the greatest show of all time isn't that great : "I'm not allowed to have chocolate before dinner" WTF ?

I think that I am one of the few who has loved charlotte the minute she was intorduced.

But i am overjoyed that they didn't kill her with all this mystery of who she is. Those last moments before she died she let out a whole lot of stuff that blew me away. Being a Dharma child, and Faraday being the old scary man. Rebecca Mader may be gone, but I am sure we'll see a younger charlotte on the island soon.

Which makes me wonder if Miles knows who she is. Evidence points to him being a Dharma baby as well.

But one thing is sad, we've lost another great actress (she was amazing in this episode!) and another good looking lady. Why do the hot girls always die?!

It could be that she is as dead as Locke. Which is to say when they get back to the island... who knows what is possible.

Probably an Apollo bar.
Maybe Annie, who's some years older than Charlotte, kept on offering them out, like she did to Ben. Charlotte told her no, thanks...

I have a feeling we're going to hear this line again from a young Dharma child.

She really was great in all the moods brought out by the different times or places she was revisiting in her delerium.
She was almost like Battlestar Galactica's Cylon Hybrid, the oracle that kind of lives in a bathtub in the Cylon ship and babbles incoherently but comes out with a prophecy at random intervals.
Charlotte came out with a few heavy things - that Daniel was on the island when she was a girl - a mean man who warned her not to come back?? It fits with that first episode glimpse of him in the cave where they were drilling near the Donkey Wheel.
And the warning to not bring Sun back - yikes.

She really was terrific... she didn't try to die glamorously, her choking was real, her mid-sentence twitches, her fear.. excellent.

Yes! And that's how Daniel will know that it's her and will try against his better judgement to warn her not to come back... which will be a total failure, just like he knows it will be... oh, life!

And I must agree that she was amazing. I liked her so much, if not for any other reason, because she was nice to Daniel and never blew him off. I hope we'll see her again in a way or other.

I think Daniel is going to give her a chocolate when he meets her as a child. A little farewell.

This is LOST. Her story isn't done. Plus we are dealing with time travel. With Daniel being in the center of it. I think we are going to see Daniel break one of his biggest rules. And he is going to try to change the future and save Charlotte. Charlotte even told him that he tried, when she was a little girl. I don't think thins is the end of Charlotte.

What did she say in Korean to Jin when she awoke? Anyone have the entire monologue in English?

This episode also finally made proper sense of Charlotte's scene in the desert with the Polar Bear collar. Loved it, hope she isn't gone for good.

Yeah, I thought she was fabulous. Great actress and character. I agree about Ana Lucia and Libby. I too, should pick a guy to be my favorite.

Bittersweet. Loved her this season.

I couldn't agree more. I loved her from the outset. Am really sad to see her go. I thought her final scene was a bit clumsy exposition wise, which is a shame. It's almost like the writers had to wrap up her whole story in 30 seconds ("i became an anthropoligist to find the Island etc").
Have you ever seen her in the DVD outakes/behind the scenes from season 4? So FUNNY!

Bittersweet. Loved her this season.

Me too! I likd her wittiness when Locke took her 'hostage', but she started growing on me in season 5. I felt so sorry for Daniel. Rebecca Mader just showed us what a great actress she is.

I'm going to miss Charlotte hella lot. Another one of my favourite characters killed off... Shannon, Libby, Charlie etc. I should really start liking Sayid =p

In seriousness though, I doubt we've seen the last of Rebecca Mader on LOST and she'll be back in some sort of flash at some point. Hopefully...
