Why was it that Horace sat James in his cabin and waited for him to wake up, and question only him? The others in James crew were just relaxing at a picnic table. Horace didnt think to ask anybody else the same questions? And even better would have been to separate them and ask them questions. But he just believed James.... Flat out believed him....
Ps. Horace seems like a nice dude.

The rest wouldn't talk until Sawyer did.

Horace does seem like a good(speed) dude. I always get a kick out of his lisp when he and Sawyer are talking after Amy leaves (upon agreeing to let Alpert take Paul's body).
I also chuckle every time I watch the scene where he's looking out the barely open door at Alpert, nervous, and gathering himself for the meeting.

I love Horace and the actor who plays him he's very believable as the character and I agree he comes across as a nice guy :) One of his wigs looked a bit dodgy in the ep but on the whole one of Lost's most successful hair pieces along with Desmond lol (usually they're really bad.)

Had the same exact thought when I was watching and while Horace is a nice dude doesn't he have security people who could advise him? "Hey dumb**** let's separate them out and apply a little pressure" What? They refused to talk and he just said "Oh, ok" when basically he and his people are in a war zone and the left behinders could have easily been Others? Struck me as very, very weak writing.

Maybe Horace just isn't freakishly paranoid?

Given the circumstances Horace might find that being paranoid helps to keep him alive as Sayid would say
