I was reading through some of my posts from a few weeks ago and something interesting happened. It was in a thread where the poster(who I know from various fandoms and tend not to get a long with) didn't use any punctuation at all. So I said something like "No offense intended because I don't mean to be rude, but punctuation is your friend." Said poster made it into a huge deal and said I was "jumping down" her throat. It basically turned into a "Let's bash Nicholee because she asked me to use punctuation" thread.

:lol2: OK. :)

It's probably a good thing I didn't make Castelles.

1)Like my cousin said when I told her months ago that I was going to tryout, I don't fit in with those girls. That's not the type of girl I am.
2)It would cutdown on my Fuse time.
3)I would end up missing episodes of LOST.

Aurora10
04-21-2005, 02:16 AM
What kind of girls are they?

It would really suck to miss Lost. :P

XxNicholeexX
04-21-2005, 02:20 AM
Girls I wouldn't fit in with. Girls who act fake. Girls who have even lower selfesteem than I do and as a result makefun of other people. Castelles is their life. Girls who are not me. Also, the way I act offline is the exact same way I act on-line so I think you can tell what kind of girl I am.

Aurora10

Yes they are and no I'm not. If I don't like someone I won't pretend to be their friend and then turn around and talk about them behind their back. I'll just straight up tell them I don't like them or whatever it is about them I don't like.

ShayidFan
04-21-2005, 09:17 AM
Maybe it is a good thing that you didn't make it, but I'm sure it still feels like crap. I hate when you put your all into something, and you end up getting nothing out of it. But missing episodes of Lost! I couldn't deal with that! ;D So I was looking at the Lost calender, and I found something that scared me. The season finale is a day before we leave to go to Scotland. If Lost came on on Thursdays, I wouldn't have got to watch it. It made me sad. But thank God it's the day before.

No, not really. *shrugs*

Speaking of the LOST finale, that's my last day of school. Also, originally we were going to leave for Reno that day but my brother was in that car wreck so we aren't going anymore. It's odd though, when I found out the finale was May 25th I kept saying to my mom "Please don't tell me that's when we're going!" and now we're not. :-\

Malee, I actually was kind of embarrassed because I had already told her not to say anything at all like that. Ugh, me too. Some people that used to be really good friends of mine are people who I don't really like anymore. Like my one friend, she's extremely racist but denies it and she always ignores me. Malee, yes I do. Of my original group of close friends from the beginning of the year it appears that only myself and Nicole are left. First Rebecca stabbed me in the back. Then Kayla well, I don't know. She just stopped liking me for no reason. Now it appears that Beverlee(my cousin) has chosen Kayla over myself and Nicole even though we never even put her in a position to take sides seeing as how she is the one who decided she was going to stop talking to Kayla. Last week she told her to never even look at her again and then today she was hiding with her from myself and Nicole. Oh and Nicole is supposed to be her bestfriend. *le sigh* Too much stupid drama.

Friends come and go. It sucks but it happens. I'm just very grateful to have my friends. I've been friends with one of them (Misha) for about 12 years. I've been friends with Gigi for 7 years. Them two, my other friends, Rebecca and Shana, all hung out during high school. After graduation, Shana and Rebecca kinda went off on their own and haven't talked to the other two in a while. I'm still real good friends with all of them, though.

The girls at my former school were pretty cool. I never had any drama with them so that's good. Everyone got along.

BurningStar4
04-21-2005, 08:56 PM
Nicholee sadly I think what you're going through happens to most girls. I had 2 girlfriends in high school who totally screwed me over. One of them had sex w/ my boyfriend at the time (because I wouldn't have sex w/ him) and another one just freaked out on me one day and said she hated me, and I did nothing to her, I always defended her against everyone who hated her. Then of course there were other friends of mine who would stab each other in the back, etc. Luckily though I'm out of that High School drama, and I have my friends who I know will be my friends forever and most of them are guys. But my best girlfriend and I have been friends since we were kids and my best friend is a guy who I've been friends with since the age of 3.

"Tina you fat piece of lard...come get some ham!" <-- My favorite quote directed toward a llama.

On the topic of having best friends as guys, I just seem to get along better with guys. My best friend since I moved here is a guy called Brandon. He's African American, and a football player who does Drama. We met through Theatre, and have been duet partners. I love him to death. He knows things about me, that most guys wouldn't want to know. We're like brother and sister. But we live in Texas, and I'm sad to say that some people shoot us dirty looks, or whisper as we walk arm and arm (he's like my escort...teehee!) down the halls. Don't get me wrong, I love hanging out with my girls. But sometimes they are just so dramatic. I have one friend who is totally pre crash Shannon. She makes me so angry sometimes. So sometimes, guys are just the easy choice. Walking away is a very good idea WS....I need to do that. I usually become the middle (wo)man in my friend's fights.

I see the character boards are split into sections now, one board for the actor, one for things in support of the character and one for where people can share what they don't like about a character.* It looks pretty nice to me.

I love that! I guess it was because the bashers and supporters kept getting into fights and stuff..... So now they each have their own section! It's also great because often times people post stuff about the actor in the character board and it just gets a little cluttered. It's much more organized now. :)

Um, well I don't know what looks good on you but I, personally like halter dresses... or something with straps. I don't really like long-sleeved dresses (and since it's April in New Mexico you probably wouldn't want one of those anyways) but something with small sleeves or straps would be cute. Just my opinion. :)

Sorry, I'm getting a little too into this.

I guess it's sort of semi-formal. *Not sure really. *

I'll probably get a dress that has a spaghetti straps or that is a halter dress thing. *I don't like long dresses. *Either short or medium length.

The guidelines for the attire:
-Long or short dresses are appropriate (not too short)
-Spaghetti straps and thin straps are acceptable as long as proper foundations are worn. (no bra straps showing)
-No low necklines
-No backless dresses*
-Pantsuits and skort outfits are acceptable
-No shorts
-No jeans
-No jogging suits
-No capri pants
-No strapless dresses

*-My teachers said that it can have a small open back to it as long as it's not too low.

Malee, that's a really good suggestion.

uk_girl
04-22-2005, 05:31 PM
Ok, you are a very attractive girl, so you need something simple and elegant, so that the attention is wehre it should be - your face - anthing too bright or fancy will draw the attention away and look like you are trying harder than you need to.

I see you in something with thin straps, knee length, slim fitting, in black which you accessorise with silver strappy stilletoes, a thick silver bangle, some long thin dangly silver earrings that just touch your shoulders, and a slim clutch purse in silver.

Or is it just that I would like to see myself with somewhere to go that I could wear that to?

Mal is right though, with your colouring you can wear Black or red and look fantastic! Red would work too, but I just see the accessories as having to be silver. Nothing fancy or ornate, just plain polished silver...

BurningStar4
04-22-2005, 05:41 PM
I like the idea of black with a light pink trim, that would be pretty. As Uk_girl said.....something simple because you are attractive and the attention should be on you not just your dress.

XxNicholeexX
04-22-2005, 05:47 PM
Nic, that sounds perfect. Which is what I want it to be. I have a little over a month until the dance, but like I said, I want it to be perfect so I'm preparing in advance. I'm going to try and find a dress that has a silver trim so that it will match the silver accessories. If I can't find anything like that I'll go for a black dress with light pink trim. If I do that I already have the perfect shoes to go with the dress.

Thank you all so much for your help! :-*

I think it's dumb that you're not allowed to wear anything that's strapless. I mean, wearing a tube top is one thing, but wearing a strapless formal dress that has been tailored is something else entirely.

You should flip through some dress websites for ideas. I like to look in expensive stores for ideas, and then go to smaller stores to find what I want.

I don't wear strapless dresses because, I, uh, have boobs and I hate the squished look--it makes me look like I have backfat.

But I don't think strapless dresses are inherently evil. Such annoyance!

At my school we have to wear uniforms but every once and a while we have "dress down days" where we can wear "normal" clothes and for our tank tops we have a four finger rule. *pouts*

Thanks WS

Some of you will maybe remember that I told you I was having problems with a guy in my office. *He was generally harrassing me and refusing to leave me alone, constant texts etc. *Well it got so bad that eventually I told my boss about it, and he told me to send this guy a text, telling him to leave me alone, not to text me anymore, and that I wanted to keep our relationship strictly professional. *he also asked me if i wanted him to pull this guy in for a telling off. *I said no, as I was new and didn't want to be seen to be causing waves. *I sent the text though and for a couple of days this guy blatantly ignored me totally.

After the ignoring wore off though, he has been making really catty, nasty sarcastic remarks constantly, both to me and to my other collegues about me, but making it obvious that he is talking about me if you know what I mean. *This has been going on for a few weeks now. *During this week, my boss asked me how it was going, and I told him how things were at this time. *Again he asked me if i would let him pull this guy in to tell him off, and I said no, as I felt bad about getting him into trouble and also that the other guys might think I was making trouble. *Today I just had as much as I could take from him though and ended up in tears. *I feel really angry that I let him destroy me so badly that I cried, and I feel that all the fun I was getting out of the job has been taken away from me by this guys constant nastiness.

I finally told someone else in the office as he came down to see if I was ok, and I obviously wasn't as I was crying and shaking. *They want me to tell my boss to pull him in, but i still cant help feeling that I would be hated by the othre guys if I did that, for 'breaking the code' or whatever, as I am 100% certain this guy will make damn sure that everyone knows that I got him into trouble. *He will most likely say he has only been joking, which he hasn't. *The things he has said have been meant to hurt and they do. *It's just stuff about me and my ability to do my job, calling me useless in not so many words etc. *Saying things like if I became teamn leader that everyone would leave...stuff like that.

How do you think I should deal with it. *I can't stand the thought of being hated by the other guys for causing trouble, but i cant stand the thought of going into work and crying again because of his bitchiness. *:'(

BurningStar4
04-22-2005, 06:13 PM
I'd talk to your boss and let him do whatever he has to do. If you tell the other guys that it's not your fault and that he was harassing you then maybe they will understand. You are there to do your job and if this guy can't accept you and treat you decently because you didn't want a relationship with him then too bad for him. He needs to grow up and stop being so immature, and if he has to get introuble by your boss then so be it...let him live and learn a little from his immaturity and mistakes. I'm sure if he gets in trouble the other guys won't say anything in fear they might get in trouble if they do. I'm sure if you talk to them and show them you are a nice person, etc. they would get along with you fine...

ShayidFan
04-22-2005, 06:18 PM
If it mean that you can stop this harrasment, and you being upset, then I would have the boss talk to him. This isn't going to stop, unless this guy knows that you are the one in control. The more that you let him get away with it, the more he is going to keep doing it.

I am so sorry this had to happen to you Nic!

WhiteSapphire
04-22-2005, 06:49 PM
Tell the boss. Let the boss take care of it.

I take the fact that one of the guys came down to check on you as a good sign. Sometimes three can be rough patches, but, over time, I'm sure the others will see that this guy was just being a jerk. Of course, if he's being such a jerk to you, I doubt it's the first or the last time he's acted like this. I wouldn't be surprised if your other coworkers didn't already know about it.

You should not let yourself be victimized. This is not your fault. Your boss should have already taken care of it. This is his responsibility. By asking you, he's putting you on the spot, which is not right. Of course you don't want to rock the boat.

uk_girl
04-22-2005, 07:27 PM
Thanks to those of you who gave advice. It really has been getting me down so badly.

I'm usually a pretty strong person on the outside and don't let people see when they have hurt me. I usually put a smile on and act like it's ok, but this has really been depressing me. I'm still learning my job and I feel that I cant ask for help any more because if I do he will make a smart mouth comment like telling one of the other guys that "at least you're not the most stupid person in the office any more" - implying that I am now. Today when he upset me and I was fighting back tears, one of the other guys in the office said "hey don't get upset in the office, it's not allowed" to try and cheer me up. This guy who has been horrible just walked past me and said "well I shouldn't laugh in the office but I do" and just smirked at me.

Just before we left work today, he said to the guy that I have just changed desks near to, "you'd better watch what you say or you'll get into trouble". I know thatdoesn't sound like much but it really is one comment after another. When either my boss or the team leader is in earshot, he can't be nice enough to me, but as soon as there is nobody around, he starts with the digs and the comments to other people about me.

I feel that this morning was his last chance because he knew he upset me really badly, and the next comment he makes I am going to go straight to my boss and say I have had enough and I want him to talk to him. The thing I just don't get is that he has a girlfriend, and I have no idea why he was harrassing me in the first place.

He is a bully though as he makes unkind comments to the others too, but not anything near as many as he makes to me. The really crazy thing is that he himself was a victim of this sort of nastiness when he first started there by another guy in the office doing the same thing to him, so he knows how bad it feels. My boss had to sort it out for him. All I know is that I cant keep on allowing him to make me feel like crap and like I am worse than useless. I find myself apologising all the time, and being absolutely petrified of making a mistake and giving him even more ammunition.

uk_girl

Oh, I am sure that he will. *He will probably claim victimisation from me to all the other guys in the office, sort of a "she doesn't like me" *type thing. (It's true, I don't like him, I hate the sight of him now, but only because of all the crap he's been putting me through one way or another since I started there). *Which is another thing that has been putting me off letting my boss talk to him as well. *However, I didn't go from having him practically stalking me only to put up with this!

I may even pull him out of the office next time he does it to me, and ask him what the hell his problem is, and then tell him that if it doesn't stop there and then that I will be telling our boss.

My allergies are really bad too. What are you taking? I'm on neoclarityn, and three different homeopathic remedies, Euphrasia, Silicea and Sodium Chloride and something.

My allergies manifest themselves by constant sneezing, I mean constant too, sometimes over 100 times a day, always over 50 times. Blocked up nose yet still runny enough to fill a bath, and frequently I get itchy eyes too.

I am allergic to dust, my cat, and have perennial hay fever. Perfume and aftershave sets it off, as do furniture polish, air fresheners etc, and the fruit and veg section in supermarkets :-\

Yes! Women with very nice nails...that are long and good for poking!

hehe, see!! why is it that women want to be mean to me and poke me with their long nails ;) :)

Well, I think there's this tiny little chance that you bring it upon yourself...(please see your other post regarding women).* ;)

The sex toy parties?

Which movies did you see? I just saw Rules of Attraction.

ShayidFan

I watched that last night Aurora!

I just watched "Closer" tonight. Which was a little strange, but good none the less.

Aurora10

Closer....I LOVE that movie. It's great. ;D

ShayidFan

That's how I was until I joined Blockbuster.com. Now I'm getting caught up on all sorts of movies, as well as season 1 of Alias.

theG
04-24-2005, 09:03 AM
My friend works as Blockbuster, but when you can't drive...* :-\

If I could drive this wouldn't be a problem.

WhiteSapphire
04-24-2005, 09:12 AM
Err, no. Blockbuster.com is like Netflix. I don't actually have to go anywhere. The movies just show up in my mailbox. It's amazing.

You do need a credit card though.

theG

Sorry, my allergies are getting to me.

I don't like getting anything off of the internet. I like to get it right as I see it.

WhiteSapphire
04-24-2005, 09:19 AM
But movies are pretty standardized.

I don't like to buy clothes over the internet.

theG
04-24-2005, 09:21 AM
I won't even buy a DVD boxset over the internet, even though it's much cheaper.* I have to go to the store and feel it in my grasp.

Today is going to be a no good, very bad day.

WhiteSapphire

I'm going away again this week.

I watched "Spellbound" this weekend. It is a documentary about teenagers in the national spelling bee. It oddly drew me in.

None of these kids were very Shannon-y. That was unfortunate. There's no rule against being smart and prissy, but that's the way it seems to work.

theG
04-24-2005, 05:15 PM
Same here. I was just thinking about that today. They really need to get the girls together a little more on the show, IMHO.

theG

I'm not coherent right now.

WhiteSapphire
