What sort of "tall tales"?

Superman
06-05-2005, 11:37 PM
umm... the one where the frog wouldn't ask out the princess because it had a funny-shaped head and was gay, so he was too embarassed to say he really liked the princess until a king came to talk to him and tell him a tall tale... after that, he was able to talk to her and prove her wrong :lol2:

LOL! I was going with that theory for awhile trying to make myself feel cool, but I just don't know. *I hate guys, especially shy guys they are so hard to read. *If he would just come out and say I am the "hotness" like Adrian did, things would be better! :P
When we were in my car the other day though, I said I was such a bad person and he said that I wasn't and that I was a great person....at least I'm getting something! *::)

Thanks Adrian ;)

For two...boys are retarded when it comes to making moves on girls sometimes...let me call him and pretend to be you! That would be fun!

For three...I am totally needing to dye my hair as well, but I am waiting til it's closer to our trip so it win't have grown out. And I am all blonde! The bottle says so!

I like the muffin man the best. In London, we kept walking past Drury Lane, and I would start the muffin man thing with my sister. I think my mom kept trying to avoid that street because we just went on...and on...

I love you're avie as well Nicholee. I need to get a new one...but Maggie looked so pretty at the Golden Globes, so I kind of like mine.

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:  :roflmao:

So last night I took some Tylenol PM because I had a horrible headache which wouldn't allow me to sleep. As a result I ended up sleeping until noon this morning(I've been awake for about 10 minutes) and I had about 4815162342 dreams. All but one of them involved Luis and as a result I shall be calling him today.

On a side note, my headache is gone!

Superman

I get up at 5:30, exercise, and then I'm okay to eat breakfast.

Go GG! I bet you are siding with the "No uniforms" policy, saying that it takes away from individuality. Also it is just more conformity and more of a "prison" like setting for the school system. Atleast that is some of the points I would make, and since we're both liberals I would tend to think we'd react the same

bri_nic23
06-15-2005, 02:50 PM

BurningStar4
06-15-2005, 02:53 PM
Thanks Bri haha.

Back in High School I actually wrote a letter to the School Board saying that we should have snack machines (this was about 4 years ago) and the paper was serious but still had this humorous tone. "It's 4th period and you're starving, you need a snack"..."You're sitting in Home Economics baking, you suddenly get hungry, you need a snack"..."School is over, but you have to stay after for extracurricular activities, you need a snack"....The School bought a crap load of snack machines about a month later, even a milk machine! lol.

XxNicholeexX

I'd like to say that uniforms are evil. I had to wear them for the past three years.

theG
06-15-2005, 03:41 PM
Our principal actually used the individuality argument with the whole issue!* It's the school board directors who have issues with our scandalous attire.* I'm just writing a response to the article.* Here's something I'm bringing up that I really like:

If it is felt by the school board directors that we need a stricter dress code, then it should be decided by the people who are actually in the school:* the staff and pupils.* The directors are rarely at our school.* We have a dress code to avoid distractions in the classroom.* It should be the responsibility of the students and the teachers to decide what they feel is too distracting.* Each class can appoint a group of representatives to help draw up a new dress code with the school staff.

One of the directors even brought up something that she found was distracting that others may not, and she did this in a rather sarcastic way, so that's where I got the idea.* She doesn't go to school with us, she doesn't teach us, it doesn't really matter what SHE finds distracting but what the school staff and students find too distracting.

On the road that I live in we have just had an emergency with 2 ambulances needed to help someone, who from all accounts was in a pretty bad way having a really really bad head injury and needing a defibrillator to be used. These ambulances were parked just after a zebra crossing. Where they were parked, they were blocking the road and the cars couldn't get over the zebra crossing and through the gap past them.

I was looking out of my window wondering if I should go out and try to stop the cars coming along and having to turn round with other cars piling up behind them, when I saw something that completely gobsmacked me.

A small red car came up to and stopped on the zebra crossing, a woman got out of her car, walked up to the ambulance and tried to shut the door so she could get past! I really could not believe what I was seeing. It totally astounded me that in the middle of a medical emergency all she was concerned about was closing the door of the ambulance that was helping someone so she could carry on to where she was going! It really to me, was a disgusting thing for her to do. She was unable to close the door so walked back to her car, turned around and drove away.

When did it become acceptable for someone to attempt to do that rather than turn around and go back the way you had come, or sit and wait for the road to be clear? I only wish I had had the foresight to take the registration number of the vehicle so the woman concerned could be identified and shamed!

I am just utterly astounded by her complete lack of compassion and her total selfishness.

Yes, I don't even know why I should be surprised that someone could do that. Just a few days ago, one of the post guys was emptying a mailbox in the city centre and found an envelope that had been chewed a bit and some brown fur sticking through. He took it to a vet and it turned out to be a live hamster, that someone had obviously decided it would be fun to mail. Luckily the hamster was still alive although very frightened.

I tell you, people round here worry me sometimes... >:(

I know. Cruelty makes me cry.

About 2 years ago some people here bought a hamster from a pet shop, tied it to a firework rocket and set it off. Needless to say, it died. I was working in a bar at the time, and found out who had done it. So I told the police. Apparently the person who did it was of low mental capacity, but that doesn't mean he should have got away with it. I really don't know where the minds were of the pet shop staff that sold him the hamster when he came in with fireworks that he had just bought next door. >:( Fireworks should not be made available to buy in shops to anyone other than organised displays.

I don't know how you feel about Shannon/Sayid, but there's an author on there named MrsTater and she's brilliant (Some of her later fics seem kind of anti-feminist-y, but I chalked that up to it just being part of the negativity Shannon was feeling in the fic).

I honestly don't know why I do, I was just saying that. I guess I was thinking along the lines of my mom liked Jewish guys(obviously) and I do too. I don't know my father and I only know two people on his side of my family. So it really isn't disturbing. ;)

I don't really have a "type", but my cousin thinks that I do. She says that my "type" is a typical "skater" guy. I think she only says this because I've liked a lot of "skaters" in the past and been in "relationships" with them. I haven't liked a "skater" in a long time though.

theG

Yes, that's why I said it makes sense* :) , but it's kind of creepy because it's the same gene pool and all.* My mother and I both have huge crushes on NA.* She thought it was because her best friend as a child was an Indian immigrant, but I guess not.

I know I always make really...firm and negative...statements, and another one is headed your way:* Skater boys cause me great frustration.* They are annoying.* All of them.* I have never met a "skater" boy who has not irritated the crap out of me.

Fortunately for me, a lot of Indian families have been moving into the area this summer.* My sister just got a job at an inn; an Indian family bought it from the original owners and are making it quite nice.* Let's cross our fingers that we'll be seeing some males around my age.

My grandma and I like NA. I didn't know she did until the other day. It's really odd.

I now have the same feelings as you toward "skater" boys. Except I'd also like to add in that they are all really immature as well.

I just realized that I've only ever liked a few guys who are white. I think that might have something to do with my dislike of(for?) blonde hair.

theG
07-01-2005, 11:36 PM
I dislike skater boys because they are immature... well, that's one reason. Immaturity irritates me.

None of the women on my mother's side like guys with blonde hair. I also can't stand blue eyes, green eyes, hazel eyes, or even light brown eyes. I need dark brown eyes, merci beaucoup. All of the people in my family, sans my father and I, have blue eyes. I've always wanted blue eyes. I think blue eyes are pretty, but I'm not attracted to guys with blue eyes.

All of this poses a terrible problem for me as most of the people in my area are German and Irish. Oh, and unattractive (both inside and out).

I guess my posts may make me seem shallow, but we're all shallow. Don't judge me, the Bible says not to :P ::)

XxNicholeexX

My brother Neil is the only one in my family with colored eyes, they're blue. His dad was white so yea. I think blue and green eyes are pretty, but I just love brown eyes. There is something about them that is just so sexy and compelling. No, I'm not just saying this because I have brown eyes. :P

I'll admit it, I'm rather shallow. Er really shallow.

theG
07-01-2005, 11:43 PM
I'm not really that shallow.* All people who aren't blind are shallow -- it's a part of being human.

Green eyes are terrible, trust me on this.* I'm less likely to get cataracts, which is cool, but they're so uncommon.* People want green eyes because so few people have them, and that's what I hate.* It was just another thing that has made me feel like an outsider in my family and as a child at school.* I'll stop complaining now.

XxNicholeexX
07-01-2005, 11:49 PM
I think my comment may have suggested that looks are all I care about, but that's just true. They are really important, anyone who says different is lying. I think I'll quote something I said before about guys.

love guys who have really deep, amazing eyes. You know the ones where they do reveal everything about the guy. You can look into there eyes and tell how they are feel, you can really see their soul. I also love guys with a great smile. He also needs to have a great sense of humour and things in common with me. I can't forget the whole nice, caring, sweet things either.

I'm a hopeless romantic and also like the whole cliched "tall, dark, and handsome".

I only know a few people who have green eyes so I can understand why that would make you feel like an outsider. Many of my features make me feel like an outside and thus make me feel insecure. Or maybe I feel like an outside because I am insecure. I don't know,

theG

This is becoming one of the best Shannon fics I've read in a while. I really loved the end of the chapter. Just so...creepy.

On a way more serious note, I need some advice.

I've never met my father but, I know stuff about him. I know that he was abusive and an alcoholic and so my mom left him. I also know his name and the he is a sports writer for my city's newspaper. Last night at around 1 a.m. when I couldn't sleep I looked on google for the paper's website and found it. Then I looked around to see if there was a way to contact the staff and I found his e-mail address.

So what I need advice on is this, should I e-mail him or no? If I do what should I say? I don't know if I should or not. It would be a little odd for him to get an e-mail saying "Happy 4th of July. Oh and by the way, this is your daughter who you've never met."

theG

That I know of he hasn't tried to contact me. He might have before when I was younger. All I know is that my mom made 100% sure that he had nothing to do with us when I was growing up. She didn't want him in our lives because he would hit her and what not. She didn't want me to grow up thinking it was OK to be treated like that.

I do know that when I was younger I spent a lot of time with his brother and father. His brother was about my age when I was born and it was just really odd with some of the stuff since he was so young. My grandpa died when I was four and then I lost contact with my uncle Lance around that time.

I don't really need a father in my life. I mean I've gone this long without one I'm sure I can live the rest of my life without ever even meeting him. It's just all my life I've wondered how things would be different if I had a father in my life. I've been doing this a lot lately since I've been reflecting on my past.

I told my mother today that I found his e-mail address. She told me that I'm old enough now to decided if I want to meet him or not. She also told me that she would contact him for me if I wanted her to.

I still don't know what to do though.

Leave well enough alone, I say. Fathers aren't that great. Your father seems to be my father watered down.

It would have been so, so, SO easy for him to at least gain visitation rights when you were younger. My mother is a social worker, and has explained this to me on numerous occasions. He hasn't shown interest in wanting to be in your life, so there's absolutely no point in you showing interest in his.

I really agree with what Mal said. He had the option to contact you, just as you have the option to contact him. I really hope you do the right thing, whatever that may be for you. And we're all here for you!

I don't think any of us are at will to tell you what to do with your own life.

It's a hard situation though, I agree with Mal that you don't need a father in your life, especially if he hasn't tried to contact you, etc.

I understand why your Mom didn't want you around him when you were younger but she is right, it is your choice now because you are old enough.

Still, I don't know what it would be like to not have a Dad and to know I have one out there that I've never even met. So I can't tell you what you should do, on one hand it seems like you should maybe just try to contact him to see if you can have a relationship, but then again it might just turn into a mess and make you feel worse in the end, so it's hard to tell.

Sheba, wonderful chapter! Sawyer! Poor thing. :'(

I'd like to say that The Little Prince is a rather odd book. I had to read it for my Honors English class next year. It took me about 45 minutes. I'm not sure why we are reading a children's book. :-\ I can only imagine what the regular English class has to read.

Tomorrow I'll start reading Edith Hamilton's Mythology.

I only have a month left before school starts back up. They cut our vacation short this year. :-\

Try reading, "Le Petit Prince," In French. It's even worse. And our teacher would cry at random places. Then we were forced to watch the movie...which was really trippy.

I don't speak French so I wouldn't be able to read a book in French. ;)

I have to read Jane Eyre and A Separate Peace.* The regular English classes only have to read A Separate Peace, which is very short.* Both of the books are boring, but Jane Eyre isn't really boring so much as too tediously detailed.

It's such a depressing book.

I am reading, Pride and Prejudice for fun, which is actually really good. I read A Seperate Peace last yer, and I wouldn't recommend it.

I am watching Bride and Prejudice right now, and Naveen Andrews makes me laugh. He's so funny when he dances.

On Saturday I was going to buy Pride and Predjudice when I went to the video store to rent [i]Bride and Predjudice[/b]. I didn't but it though and I didn't get to rent B&P because there wasn't a copy in. :(

I'm going to try again tomorrow.

In an hour or so I'm going to go rent B&P.

I'm really looking forword to the new Pride and Prejudice. I'm biased though, I love Keira Knightley. She's my idol.

Sometime this week I'm going to get my hair cut like Rachel McAdam's has it in this picture http://rachelmcadams.org/gallery/displayimage.php?album=54&pos=7

I also just adore Rachel. I think I might be starting to like her more than Keira.

I've already watched B&P 4 times.* I'm addicted to it.* I watched it 2 times on Wed.

My favorite scene was the "Kites without Strings" scene.* I have the song from it stuck in my head now!* I can't stop watching that scene, I really enjoy watching Naveen dance!

When you dye it you must show me.

Nicholee- My favorite part is when they are singing the wedding song in the street, and she said, "Just take a look around you...the city has gone mad!" I don't know why, but it makes me so happy. And then the crossdressers...haha

I haven't been shopping in forever! I'm jealous, one of my friends went shopping today. :(

SF, I love the hand motion thing she does when she says that! The crossdressers were great.

The past two days have been awesome! I am now going back to John Robert Powers(an acting/modeling school)! It's so cool because the other day I had made an appointment for an audition with the modeling agency that is in the same building. It was yesterday at 2:30. When I went there they had an international talent scout that I had more like an interview with and she pretty much loved me. :) So I went back there today at 4:00 and talked with her some more. She paid for me to attend the courses at the school again so I can get proper training! It's so awesome. She left this evening to go back to LA and then she's coming back in a month.

Then (in case you dont's see my post I send it to you) I wrote:

*«Hi, I'm Shannon, a cheerleeder, not very inteligent, only a cute girl without any kind of education, only interested in wears, haircuts, models, buying anything, my credit card and my precious skin. Obviously I'm in the show to satisfy male teenagers and girls like me (in other words, I'm not an interesting character, only a beatiful body). If you want to celebrate a pijama party I must be your first choice. If you want to investigate a mystery, survive in an island or something like that ask another character.»

?? Put the blame on Locke, girl... ??

Ah, your web have little interest. I can't found anything. Only a few post*by*teenagers (from Mars) in love with Shannon or teenagers feascinated with the way she wears (or booth). When a couple of nude pics of Shannon or a e-book titulated "Why wear like a whore; by Shannon"? This is the things that the people who visit your web want... believe me.

So I might be going to L.A. in September(did I already say this?) and if I do I'll take Shannon with me then!
