I liked this episode. Hopefully the finale is just as good.

Leaps and bounds better than the last episode.

Locke wants to kill Jacob, Ben and Richard may undermine him, but he appears to have everyone elses support on this.

The plot thickens.

Finally an episode where I can say, "I really do need to watch that again." My heart was pounding the whole time. Multiple nods to season 1, 2, 3, and 4. We got to see the Dharmites and the 316ers equally in the same episode!

well i thought it was good episode, i would give a 7

I hate Radinsky and Phil with a passion now
we know how Radinsky dies, i hope Phil dies a worse death
anyways I found a little weird too, Richard well...he seems less cooler now, i dunno :(
Only good revelations was that
Hurley doesnt know the Prez at 1977 (Its Jimmy carter dude) lol
John told Richard to tell him that he needs to die (jawdropper)
Jack got beat up by Widmore
John wants to KILL JACOB WTF

Two thumbs up because it perfectly set up the people and events for a rip-roaring finale and a dynamite final season, left me wanting more more more.

Bonus points for Hurley's adorable exchange with Chang, how could you not love that?
And then my man Sayid showed up again.

I know "centric" episodes are the hallmark of the series, but I am hereby starting a petition to phase them out next season.

This episode was non-stop - humor, action, WTF moments and great writing.

Hurley and Chang - I had to rewind my DVR because I was laughing too hard to catch what happened next.

John - the group I was watching with could not stop remarking that this is the John from S1 that brought most of us aboard. Driven, confident, and possibly a little crazy. He is Ben with a hefty dose of cojones now.

Jack and Kate - god, do I hate Kate. Not Evie, just the character that Kate has become. This cannot just be sloppy writing by the writers. They can not honestly believe that anybody is rooting for Kate with the actions they are giving her. Brilliant in a weird way.

Sawyer and Juliet - man, that would have been one hell of a sendoff for them (not that I could have imagined at least Sawyer not coming back next season). Happy, set for the future (past?), and finally with the person they belong with. Stupid, stupid Kate.

And the WTF moment of the season - John telling Richard to help his past self with a bullet wound. Holy crap, that was awesome writing - the setup 8 or 9 episodes ago, the look on Alpert and Ben's faces, and the way they filmed him jumping...freaking incredible.

Can I just say that I had a really hard time figuring out what era we were in since Richard was involved in both eras? That's the good kind of confusion that has made this season so fun to watch and figure out.

As I said in the "Rate The Episode" thread - this ep left me with such a fulfilled AND anticipatory feeling that I'm worried the finale's not going to be able to live up to it.

An excellent episode!! I loved it. All the characters were in top form (except lacking more Jin). There was a great sense of urgency and a lot of forward momentum to the story. I love how they tied back in Richard finding Locke by the Beachcraft.

Loved seeing the Others' beach camp and the tunnel entrance being accessible via underwater tunnel. The new Richard, Ben and Locke dynamic has changed but it is still fantastic watching them play off each other.

Bring on the finale!!!

Thought it was a great episode. Chang's quiz to Hurley was hilarious. Jack seems to have finally come fully out of his "I put my dad's shoes on some other dead guy" funk and is ready to conduct some serious business. ;-) My only gripe was the ongoing slump of Jin's and Sun's storyline.

The ending threw me for a loop, until I thought about Season 3 when Jacob tells Locke, "help me." There's definitely something new about John since his death... when Ben killed him, perhaps it had some symbolic value? Dunno, but it seems possible to me that Locke perceives Jacob's request for help as a plea to be put out of his misery.

Thumbs up, can't wait for the finale.

OMG! I thought last week was amazing and this one tops that. Locke stating he was going to kill Jacob; I did not see that coming. Locke seems to have come into his own. Love it!!!!!!!!!!!!!

This one was really good. Everybody is pro active, albeit in different directions. Hurley is funny. Locke is confident. Jack is driven. Sawyer is working the angles. Kate is as gorgeous but contrary. We learn a bunch of stuff about various theories without being clonked over the head with it....and we are putting the verdammt Dharma Initiative Phase behind us!!!!

I could have done without the "triangle" scene, but you have to keep those "shipper" fans happy. I could have done without Jin just standing there like a melonhead while everybody else talks - You'd think he would have something to say about denying the Korean War for instance-...But I guess you can't have everything.

I am with a previous poster. The first time in a while that I thought "man I gotta watch that again."

Far and away one of the best of the series thus far. There was an energy to this one -- a "life force," if you will. ;)

I loved it. The Locke stuff was better, and they shouldn't have had Kate get on the sub...but it was mostly awesome. I'm very intrigued by this Jacob business.

I love everything about Lost, but this ep seems like a return to the old action stories that we haven't really seen since the finale of season 3. I like the explaining they've done this season, but it didn't have that tense, hold your breath feeling of the first three (mostly first two seasons). Loved it. Perfect lead in to a season finale too!

I loved how Locke stopped Ben in his tracks with the "we're going to Jacob so I can kill him" statement.

Best finale setup episode in the history of Lost!

Without a doubt.
I think I said something similar, after only one viewing.
I've watched it 3 times now, and it just keeps getting better and better.
It's Sunday night now, and seriously I wonder if the finale can even come close to what was set up in FTL...

Haha, I don't know about the best set-up ever, but it's probably close. I've watched it 3 times already, and might watch it again. I've never watched an episode of Lost 4 times. I'm just so excited for this finale.

I liked this episode a lot when i first saw it, but my initial reaction wasn't as OMG as it has been for other epi's this season (the opening two, The Life and Death of Jeremy Bentham, and Dead is Dead). After re-watching and reflecting on it, however, it's worked it's way into my top 2 or 3. I love the build up for the incident and for Locke's meeting with Jacob, and I found the shipper scenes surprisingly compelling.

I'm also blown away with the care that has been taken to direct the flow of the overall series. Like the Watchmen series, it's starting to show a symmetry that we may not fully appreciate until it's all over. They've once again pulled the lostaways apart, this time not only geographically, but in time as well, and I can't wait to find out how they will all come back together. I'm guessing that next season will parallel season one, with a focus on the survivors of flight 815.

100th post!

I absolutely loved this episode, Locke's closing comment about killing Jacob was, to me, one of the biggest WTF moments in a long time. I can't wait to see where it's going on Wednesday.

one of the only episodes which had me laughing so much that i had to rewind it. Excellent job with Hurley there. I have to say also, loads of potential for next week, and tonnes of WTF moments - it's shaping up to be a great finale!

I loved it, I can't wait to see the finale. I am so curious about whether Jack is on the right track... or not! Also, will Sawyer stay on the sub (probably not I am guessing...)...
