Is this just another one of those cases where the various numbers that we know of are showing up in non-island locations, or is this a clue that there is more to flight 316?

Yeah, I noticed this too. I saw it as a reference to John 3:16.. didn't even think about flight 316. Interesting!

There's clearly a 104 on the room down the hall from where young Miles finds the dead man in the room... I was hoping to see that the dead man was in Room 108 but I don't think that was shown clearly.

I believe it was Room #4. And I loved how he got the hidden key out from under the concrete Rabbit doorstop!

Then Sawyer told Miles to get the tape from moniter #4 so no one would see him and Kate on the tape.

I think this is just an easter egg ...back in previous seasons, the #815 popped up a lot in the Losties' flashbacks.

815 was on the microwave when Pen was making tea for Des.

I like how the numbers "316" visually looks like "815" with some minor changes. add a little squiggle on the left of the "3" and it looks like an "8", and take away a little hook on the left of the "6", and it looks like a "5". Kind of like how the passengers ibn flight 316 were supposed to represent the passengers on flight 815.
