Eloise Hawking and her knowledge of all things time/space/island are still pretty foggy to me, but Faraday made it sound like she was the only one who could help them. Is that just because she was the one he told to bury the hydrogen bomb (that being part of his master plan to stop the incident), and she'd know where it is? Or is there more to it?

Good questions.

In order for Faraday to explode Jughead, he's got to convince the Hostiles to give it to him. So, maybe he thought that by appealing to his own mother, he'd have a better chance at getting them to surrender the bomb and blow their island home to smithereens.
