Does anyone know if there has been cuts to LOST's budget? Is this possibly the reason we've seen so much less of Jack, Locke, Sayid?

Someone...say it ain't so...

Well, I don't think that's the case. Obviously the ratings are not so good, but I don't believe that's why we see so little of Jack or Sayid. In my opinion, Season 5 had so many different storylines and the writers could not fit all the characters in one episode.

Cool. It was just a thought; I hoped it wasnt true and I hope you're right. I just read a little blurp in a google search from darkufo, and it mentioned speculation to this effect, but I dont go in there...so I thought I'd bring the question here.

So is that final? Or does anyone have any more information on this rampant speculation? Darkufoers perhaps??

I think the main actors get paid for every episode of the season, even if they arent in them or just in them a little

Yeah that was terrible...I'd prefer if that shot was taken out for the dvds...I can use my imagination.

Well, the horrible freighter explosion and the horrible helicopter crash were not taken out either...

At least those two had camera movement to offset the graphics.

Guys, this is TV not the movies. There is a certain amount of flexibility you should be giving them in regards to special effects. I am sure the time given to GCI in the movies is much greater than in TV.

I didn't think it was horrible at all.

Yeah, guys, this question was not posed because of supposedly poor CGI graphics. It's TV after all...and I thought it looked pretty good. It's just a question, with no real motivation, though I suppose the shortage of Jack, Sayid, Locke, etc this season was what got me thinking.

I would have to look at the contracts of the actors to see if some actors are getting paid per episode or per season. If some actors (like the ones who portray Rose, Bernahrd or Christian) are paid per episode, then I can see why they have not been in the show as much.

I am pretty sure there are differences in cast payment. For example Main Cast, Recurring Guest....

Which makes sense why we have not seen Rose and Bernard.

no, there haven't been.
Lost is ABC's 3rd highest rated scripted show, still.

The CGI has always been dodgy. The S4 finale CGI was mainly poor because of the lack of time, though.
