I am rooting so hard to see it in the finale. I just have a feeling.
If it exists, I believe it is what John saw in season one and said was beautiful.
"Two sides. One is light and one is dark."

Come on, Whitey!!!

the Cloud Monster!! lol angels will sing and harps will play when it appears ...

It would make sense with what Locke has said previously with the black and white references.

Not too long to wait!!!

I keep hoping there is a Light Smokey too....a more benevolent "monster".

That would be awesome if we see a whitey in the finale.

Pilot - CHARLIE: Terrific.
It looked like the Losties were watching a tennis match the way they kept looking back and forth between the two areas where trees were getting smashed. There must be two smokeys!

Not holding my breath on seeing that this year though.

I always thought smokey should be paired up with the biblical pillar of fire. New triangle maybe?

I recall in season 1 while Jack was following hid Dad through the jungle, there were a few whisps of white smoke around Christian. Now, it in no way resembled the big plume of black smoke we're used to, but there definitely was white smoke...if my memory serves me well.

Maybe it was keeping a low profile, it was after all in Smokeys territory.

I'm not sure how I would feel about a second smoke monster. I think Smokey is perfectly capable of handling all the smoke monster duties, although it would fit nicely with the 'two sides' thing that has been talked about since almost day one, I guess I'll just wait and see, if it makes some dramatic entrance, and saves someones life than I suppose it would be ok, but if it just shows up randomly with no specific purpose/mission that wouldn't be ok it would be very un-ok in my book.

Yeah, in the episode where Kate and Juliet were handcuffed together, they were chased by the "monster." For some reason, there was a lot of light coming off a monster that suppose to be dark. Here's to hoping for the light monster.

I used to be on board with this, but the more I think about it the more I think the "white light" is just John's interpretation of what was happening while Smokey was "scanning" him.

Man would that be cool. We've learned a lot about Smokey this year so I'd think we would have seen him for the last time this season. Who knows though, it's possible. You know Damon and Carlton are geeks like us and they are sitting in the writer's room going, "Wouldn't it be cool if...."

I think it would suck. I'm still rooting for a non-dualistic POV.

Actually I'm going to change my tune on this. I think we need a white smokey in this years finale so we have something to debate over the break.

Christian - Good smokey or bad smokey?
Kate's horse?
Yemi?
Ben's mom?
Vincent?
etc.

I don't think there are two smoke monsters.

The beautiful images that Locke saw aren't from a different smoke monster. Rather, the monster was reflecting good and pure images from Locke's past, whereas it reflected dark and evil images from Eko's past.

I think that a second, white monster would be out of left field. There haven't been really any hints as to a second monster on the show (despite the theories); the white whisps and different sounds are probably just earlier drafts of its features that were refined by season 2 when it made its first noticable appearance.

I remember that as well. I used to have screencaps of that scene but I lost them somehow.
