I don't even have words. How do you end a show like that? I gave it a ten because if they can make a finale like that, I can't even imagine what they're going to deliver to us for next year. Wow.

Unbelievable.

Incredible! By far the best episode this year. The first 5 minutes just set the tone for the episode, amazing. The scond hour was a little slow, but it certainly ended with a bang.

10, and if I could I would give it an 11.

Insane and epic. 10 easily. I'm almost glad we have an eight month hiatus as I think I'll need that much time to process what just happened!

What no choice for 100?

That was the very best Lost epi so far.

The ONLY downside is now we have to wait 8 months for another epi.

That is a downer, but on the brightside they left us with a lot to dissect over that eight months.

What I want to know is who gives this episode a 1 and doesn't post about it? If you're gonna cast a vote, own that vote.:cool:

Definitely a 10! I don't even know what to say yet. And I mean that in a good way.

Love the Jacob flashbacks and in fact really like Jacob. Great writing and casting.
Love the character moments especially Jack and Sawyer and Juliet and Sawyer.
Charlie's Drive Shaft ring!!!
Chang's arm!
Juliet detonating Jughead. I wonder if she is dead or will pull a Desmond?
The cliffhanger ... What a way to end the season!

How can this show make us wonder what the show could possibly be about next season! They've done this repeatedly and it is amazing. I don't know of any other show that can do that.

Can somebody explain to me why they liked this episode so much? I really disliked it.
And here's why:

1) We finally see Jacob and he talks, looks and acts like some normal, boring dude from modern times with a typical American accent! ZZZzzzzzzz I was extremely disappointed right from the get go about that. All that build up about him and he looks like an actor that would be on some other show - maybe 24 or Medium or some crap like that. He had absolutely nothing interesting about him whatsoever. (It should have been a casting choice similar to Michael Emerson or Nestor Carbonell - someone with a face and accent that hits you with mystery and intrigue. This guy was just plain blah!)

2) This was the first time I was completely NOT on jack's side. I'm sorry, but he wants to actually dismiss the last few years of his and everyone's life? He'd rather NEVER have been with Kate? Whatta frickin wimp! And the writers think it's cool to set up a plot line that basically would erase everything that has happened to the losties since season 1?! What a cop out! That's like saying it was all a dream! What is this, Dallas?

3) I got to really care about Juliet and Sawyer together as a couple and they make them end in such a painful way? And they kill her off just when I started caring? Ugh. And what makes it worth killing her off? That she died valiantly? Or perhaps that none of it will matter if Faraday's plan works and it all ends up being erased? I'm sorry, but those are emotions the writers have made me feel and hours I've devoted to this show that I can't get back!

And finally 4) WTF with Locke not really being Locke?! Sure, that's interesting and all, but I was REALLY attached to the idea that Locke finally found himself and got to this confident "Gandalph the White" level, ya know? If that's not him and he really died all whiny and trying to kill himself, well, then that very VERY much sucks. Locke has always been my fave character and to diss him and just replace him with someone else (Smokey?) just pisses me off to no end!

Now, I did like Sawyer's heart-on-his-sleeve awesomeness and I liked seeing the statue, but it's not like we saw or heard anything new. It was all a huge tease and was absolutely not enough for me to be excited for next season. Of course, I'll still watch to see if they really have the audacity to pull the Dallas maneuver. But if we see the Losties on a flight to LA as if nothing ever happened, I think I may feel the need to vomit.

I'm extremely disappointed. I have LOVED Lost and have put up with all the endless love triangles and the dragging out of the mysteries because the writers were always able to keep me going with such brilliant mythos and heart wrenching characters. But I feel like this season finale left me completely cold and barely interested in the final season. :(

Totally gave it a 10, and I rarely give 10s. Locke's not Locke!!? WTH!! And I totally fell in love with Jacob!! I thought he was going to be way more different, but he was so awesome in his simplicity!! This episode was awesome, and I'll have to watch it again.

By the way, totally happy Juliet didn't die in the fall. She detonated the bomb! AaaaaaahhhhhH!!!!!

This for me personally was the best ever episode of Lost, theres wasnt one second of it where i thought it was lacking. My only criticism would probaby be how long they dragged the whole Jack and the Jughead bit out, there was no need for it really. Apart from that the reveal of Jacob and his enemy possessed Locke and the statue and of course the ending! Wowowowowowow!

I wanted to like it more but gave it a 7. In an episode that gave us Jacob, an h-bomb, the statue, Marvin Candle's arm, Locke in a coffin, and the Swan's magnetism, the real standout for me was Rose saying she and Bernard weren't going to play those Rambo games with the Losties.

It just felt like they were throwing everything at us, with little thought about the writing. It felt contrived that with the incident about to happen and Sayid bleeding to death, the quadrangle took time to fight and discuss all their feelings about each other. Jacob's vists to the Losties in the past were fun, but gave little additional info (some with Jack, some with Hurley). Locke as Smokie is a letdown; he's not really doing all this leading himself.

That being said, we do have a lot to chew on for 8 months. There were some lovely moments (like how the island shows up in different orientations so the sun's in the wrong place) and some cryptic ones like Jacob weaving. Maybe I just hold Lost finales to an unreasonable standard.

I had to give this a ten. It was pretty amazing. From Jacob (good egyptian god?) and the other man (evil Egyptian God maybe?), to Jack and Sawyer's "talk" ;-), to Juliet and Sawyer's scene, and finally to the impersonation of Locke- it was great.

Jacob was the good guy, and now Ben has been manipulated by the being claiming to be Locke- the being opposing Jacob.

I'll have a full review later, but I was very impressed...

I gave it a 10! Absolutely, totally loved it!!!! Aside from all the things shown such as Jacob, Chang arm loss, etc, I loved how it echoed the season finales from each of the previous seasons and then...Bam! and everything is turned upside down. What especially made me nostalgic is when Jack and Sayid were packing up the bomb into a backpack for Jack to carry to take to the Swan...they've done this before! Made me remember how unknown, mysterious and exciting everything was the first season and then made me realize how amazingly insane everything's gotten, while still being incredibly exciting!

Juliet...made me cry. Locke...not Locke anymore, I realized that in the first hour of the finale, he was just acting way too creepy, don't like that WhoeverItIs very much. Ben...wow, totally reminded me of how Locke used to be when he was complaining about never seeing Jacob, but perhaps he'll have to take charge of his people once again next season after he realizes who/what Locke is. Kate/Jack/Sawyer...the love triangle is so tiring! Get over it! Miles...aww he rushed to his dad's side when his arm got caught! Sun...the only one we know for sure should be alive and ok (for now). Crazy.

Excellent episode, but gotta rewatch it again today, I think I was so excited about certain parts that I didn't pay enough attention to other parts. Can't wait until season 6!!

I gave it a 9, the highest I've given any episode this season! It was such an emotional roller coaster ride and kept me at the edge of my seat except at the end, when I was standing in front of the TV. The gamechanger was brilliant. Never saw that coming.

If there was one disappointment last night, I felt it with the Rose and Bernard scene. Yes, I know they were responding to everyone's demands of wanting to know what happened to the two but the scene seemed like it had been dropped in there and was kind of forced. Still, it was good seeing them and of course, Vincent.

And I'm relieved Phil was finally "taken care of" too.

I find it hard to rate this episode. So much of it was mindblowing. I loved Jacob and Esau (for want of a better name for Titus Welliver's character) and really enjoyed all aspects of the mythology.

Completely adored our brief visit with the Nadlers in their chosen retirement. Poor Sawyer's been looking everywhere for them and they've been ducking him the whole time! LOL I choose to believe that Jin found them at some point, but that he agreed to respect their wish for privacy ... and has dropped by for tea occasionally while keeping them furnished with Dharma provisions.

There were some amazing screen moments. Sawyer, Kate and Juliet standing in the road blocking the VW bus gave me shivers. The Sawyer/Jack fight was long overdue and very satisfying. The action at the end was wild. Juliet and Sawyer were heartwrenching, and major props to Elizabeth and Josh for being even more awesome than usual. Miles saved his Dad - another satisfying moment. Ben turned out to be very much like Locke, needing so badly to be special. That whole intriguing situation with Jacob and (now) Faux Locke is.... delicious and something good to look forward to in S6. The whole business of Jacob meeting our 815ers - and not only meeting them, but making it a point to touch them.... I need to know what that's all about.

And in the middle of all this wonderful stuff - at the heart of it, actually, is Jack. He marches off bravely with his little WMD and I imagine I'm supposed to be cheering him on, but the truth is that he's like a turd floating in the soup. Not only is he doing this because he's a self-absorbed, petulant little wimp who wants to erase the mess he made of his relationship with Kate, but then to validate that preposterous notion we're actually given Juliet deciding she's down with this blow-up-the-island plan so she won't risk losing Sawyer. Really, Show? REALLY??? So because Jack is an idiot, we have to make the other characters idiots too? It follows, of course, that Kate finds a reason to back him up... this plan will give Claire a chance to keep Aaron... maybe... if it works. And Sawyer, who should be yelling "Hell, NO!!!", folds and goes along. Now we have three idiots validating the Chief Idiot, Jack. At least when Sayid went along with him, we could understand that Sayid is lost and self-destructive anyhow, just as Jack was (still is?) less than a week before all this action takes place.

So the motivation for all this frantic action, this brilliant plan to change the future, is a total absurdity. How could it be anything else when it's pinned to Jack? Time and again, the flaw in the story is that Jack must be regarded as a hero, however much that is gainsayed by what he's actually doing and why. The the only way I can enjoy this episode - and the show overall for some time now - is to pretend that Jack barely exists and that things are happening for much better reasons than those we're given in connection with his character. For me, Jack is an epic fail in the middle of a fascinating story about other characters.

So I will again do the show a favor and fanwank Jack into somebody it would actually make sense for any of these awesome characters to follow, and I'll give the episode a solid 9.

Gave it a 10.

I thought the episode was LOST at its best, connecting stories from the past with the "present" (1977 or 2007) and thus answering questions such as the mystery Charlie's ring, Dr. Chang's arm, Rose and Bernard, and VINCENT! There was heartbreak (Juliet and Sawyer... sniff), romance (Jack and Kate), thrills and chills (Jughead, Sayid... EVIL LOCKE?!). New questions were raised (uhm... where will the show pick up when it comes back... and with whom?), which culminated in the show's biggest cliffhanger yet. How sneaky to claim not to end the show like The Sopranos and then have your penultimate season finale screen fade to... white!

I <3 the LOST team!

Gave it a 9. I really loved most of it but nothing will ever top the S1 finale for me. Well, maybe the S6 finale will. : ) I hope Juliet's not dead and that the flash of light at the end wasn't the bomb going off but rather another time flash. I love her character - a strong female who does what she needs to do and isn't afraid to speak the truth even at the risk of losing someone she loves.

Didn't like the Jack/Sawyer smackdown. Ugh! I'm so tired of all that crap! Just when you think Sawyer has grown up a bit he reverts to his old ways. yuck. I realize they needed a scene to relate to what Jacob and Beach Boy were talking about, and also the meaning behind Rose and Bernard's reasoning to live alone, but that schoolyard scene just stunk for me.

I'm still pondering the whole Jacob in-the-flesh stuff. I thought the actor was a little weak but maybe that's to downplay his real power. Got the whole black/white reference via the clothing but hope this doesn't really turn out to be a game (Locke explaining backgammon to Walt in S1 - one black, one white). Loved seeing the statue!

I'm wondering if S6 will be more flashbacks of Jacob visiting other Losties and maybe Juliet. And I'm looking forward to learning who the Beach Boy is.

Good Vibrations all around!

I gaave it a 10. Between the Jacob visiting everyone as well as bringing the Black Rock to the Island to finding out that the "Spirit" in the cabin is "Esau" (for wont of a better name) to Jack and Sawyer's heart-to-heart and then their fight, both things were long, long overdue, to The Incident. Finding out that Locke isn't Locke but either Smokey or "Esau" who might be the same being, heck I don't. know. And the coup de grace of Juliet and Sawyer and that heartwrenching moment when she couldn't hold on anymore. I was stunned when she detonated the bomb and stunned at the fnishing show logo.
So good to see the Nadlers going native and having a good life with Vincent.
The whole thing set it up to where I'm already on pins and needles to find out if the bomb worked and if this resets back to the beginning OR if it does reset but with a different timeline somehow. It really was a gamechanger. My thought is they only have one more season so how're we gonna be able to get it all in in 17 episodes next year???!!! Did Sayid die?? Does this mean that Christian and Claire are part of the EVIL force behind 'Esau"??
If there had been a 20 button on there, I would have chosen that. Good job, Lost writers. You've given us something to talk about, that's for sure.

Well, gotta love how 4 out of 5 Lost season finales involved things going KABOOM!!
S1 - Kaboom! goes the hatch door
S2 - kaboom! goes the hatch, computer and other fond cangoods
S3 - no Kaboom, but "we have to go back!"
S4 - Kaboom! goes the ship and Poof! goes the Island
S5 - Kaboom goes the nuke/anomoly on the Island

So, will the final LOST moments of the series be like Dr Strangelove, with a literal orgy of Kaboom!!??!!

Have to give it a 10. I think this is the best finale they have done to date. It moved the story forward and gave us a glimpse of the overall story (I think). It answered a few questions. It asked a few new questions for use to think about over the break. It had action, suspense, some surprises and conflict. Great job.

Wow. Pretty amazing stuff. Jacob is a pretty fascinating character as is the "loophole exploiter" Juliet has emerged as one of my favorite characters. Jack
s transformation is well transformative, Sawyer continues to be unpredictable. Kate is Kate. Radzinsky is a man in the most desperate need of an a$@kicking. Miles was great. I just loved the Rose and Bernard (& Vincent) sequence. Really thought that rowing in on a slightly different bearing sent them back to 2007. Nuke detonation and the reversal of the logo was a FANTASTIC touch and I'll wager a visual cue that the paradigm has shifted. Not sure I will make it to next season.

I loved this finale! Best season finale yet!
Emotionally, Juliet's death was more difficult for me personally then Charlies, because I felt that she and Sawyer really were meant for each other. They fit together perfect, two broken pieces that made the whole greater then the sum of it's parts.

I loved finding out about Jacob's nemesis, and that Jacob connected with our Losties before they ever knew they would be one day flying with Oceanic, showing us that flight 815 was intentional. I hope that somehow Jacob will survive to watch his people triumph over evil nemesis.

Terry O is an incredible actor and his performance was outstanding!

Have no idea what comes next but I will love the ride!

I thought their scene went better than I expected. I think it helped illustrate Jacob's ideal for people on the island. His rival/Esau's position was people fight, kill, corrupt.

It mimicked what Rose said to Kate. "You people are always looking to shoot at someone." or something like that. Also, her comment to Juliet, "Would you like to stay for tea?" seemed to me as if Rose had some inkling what was in store for Juliet.

I agree it was good to see Phil get taken out.

This episode was a total 10 for me until we learned that Locke was dead- again or still. That was awful.
The good- The action was awesome.
Juliet's death and the exchanges between her and Sawyer were really well acted.
The Bernard/Rose/Vincent scene was AMAZING. I loved it and was so glad they're happy.
All of the screentime "Locke" got.
We got to see all of our Losties that are on the island.
There were a few moments between Jack and Kate that said things are NOT over between them. I love their chemistry.
The opening scene, meeting Jacob.
Seeing Jacob meet all of the losties pre-island.
The acting by everyone, but especially Terry O'Quinn, amazing, just amazing.

The bad-
Locke being dead!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
Juliet noticing that Sawyer still cared for Kate moments before her death. Being that she died, it would have been nice if nothing tarnished their relationship.
The fight between Jack and Sawyer was pointless and ill timed. Sayid was dying and they had a bomb to detonate, was that really the time?

If Locke weren't shown to be dead and I wasn't worried that he'll stay dead, it would be a total 10. But, I'm going down to 9 with the hope that Locke somehow will live again.

Review: Lost 5.16: "The Incident" (http://entil2001.com/series/lost/season5/lost5-16.html)

Overall, this episode was another jam-packed and thought-provoking season finale, tying together aspects of the series' mythology going back to the early first season while setting the perfect stage for the sixth and final season. As always, the long wait between seasons will be hard to bear.

I gave it a 9, and I haven't given anything this season that high a mark. I was happy to see a strong character driven episode, and I think it delivered in spades.

I like that Jacob was a benevolent figure rather than some weird, tripped out entity. It was intriguing to me that there was a good and evil presence on the island when the episode first started. That makes a lot of sense to me. It also seems to me that when the Man in Black told Jacob that he was going to find a loop hole, Jacob opted to prepare for such a scenario, and he picked his backup crew. Namely: Jack, Kate, Sawyer, Sayid, Juliet, Jin, Sun, and Hurley.

I think Jack has been right all along. This whole idea that Jack is crazy to be detonating a bomb is all part of a greater plan, and I say this because Jacob told the Man in Black that "they are coming." This tells me that Jack was suppose to detonate the bomb. The island is not going to be reset back to them landing safely in LAX. For one thing, they need the cast back together and half of them are on other shows, and in the case of Walt, he's about five inches taller than he's suppose to be. It ain't gonna happen. I do believe that they will be propelled into a place that Jacob had planned for them from the beginning. Something that the Man in Black had not foreseen and could not prepare a plot against. Did you see evil Locke's face when Jacob say "they're coming?" He wasn't happy. That's a good thing.

I really loved action Jack and Sayid. These two always hatch plots together, and on several occasions, it backfired on them. Regardless, these two guys always go into battle together, and I love it. Jack is a pretty darn good shot, and I think this is the first time that Jack actually killed people. I hadn't seen that happen before. It was also great how Hurley, Jin, and Miles came back to help Jack and Sayid (take notice, Sawyer) and didn't go to the beach for safety. Good friends there.

Sawyer, Kate, and Juliet were heading off into a better life, and Sawyer was more than happy to let Jack and company blow up with the island. I'm still not sure why Juliet wanted to go back since in that moment, Sawyer was not looking at Kate. Maybe Juliet's explanation that we couldn't let people die was true, but I don't think so. The non-essential personnel had been evacuated and mostly the guys with guns were left behind, but for whatever reason, she headed back.

What the heck is up with Rose and Bernard? I was looking forward to seeing them and then when they opened their mouths, I was sorry to hear from them. What's with all the animosity between these characters? Why is it so terrible to see Sawyer, Kate, and Juliet? I would have liked a response like the one Sawyer gave Jin, but no Bernard and Rose had to be jerks about it. Eh.

I guess that the fight between Jack and Sawyer was bound to happen at some point. Jack won that fight, imo. Sawyer sucker punched him twice to get the advantage, but then again, when you're in a fight, I guess that's allowed. I don't know. I got the impression from their conversation that Jack wasn't trying to blow up the island to get Kate back. Rather they did not belong where they were, and I agree with him. I think what people forget is that Jack, Kate, and Hurley were very specifically plucked off of Flight 316 and dropped into 1977. Why? It wasn't to play house in Dharmaville. I think it was for Jack to cross paths with Daniel and to find out that he had to do exactly what he did. Even Jacob seemed to be anticipating it. I guess we'll find out next season, but I think Jack was right.

How creepy was Locke? I'm actually really glad that it wasn't Locke because I had really grown to care about him, and I didn't want to believe that he would become that evil. On the other hand, I REALLY hope that the real Locke is not dead. I want a resolution to the Man of Science / Man of Faith storyline that started five years ago.

Lastly, I have to compliment Josh Holloway and Elizabeth Mitchell for a fantastic final performance. I was reallly beginning to wonder if Josh had it in him, and he delivered. That was such a heartbreaking scene, but it was also wonderfully heroic. Juliet saw that Sawyer was going to die if she didn't let go of his hand, and as he told her not to let go, she told him how much she loved him while he desperately begged her to hang on. That was an incredible scene. Her "death" was a result of the drilling at the site and exposing the pocket of electromagentic energey. However, I have no doubt that Juliet will be alive and well next year since the bomb nuked the site from orbit.

There will be no reset on season one, imo. Instead, I believe that the remaining eight Losties will fulfill the destiny that Jacob set in motion for them years earlier. I can't wait to see the final season. Great season finale.

They pushed attractive Jacob into the fire after stabbing him. :(

I stand by my 9 because I'm not 100% on board for the bomb.
And for the 'what the hell?!' moment with dead Locke. That was awesome.

Also, the ending was for me only second to the moment the light in the hatch came on in the jungle.

For various reasons, Lost season finales usually leave me flat. I think the last one I enjoyed was the season one closing episode. I gave The Incident a 5 rating. It was a big disappointment to me, especially since I liked the previous two episodes leading up to it.

On the Didn't Like It thread The Fuselage member colin 72 posted an amusing and mostly on target critique of the season 5 closer. Worth reading:

I gave it a 9 because they killed off sexy Jacob already.

Will someone please give Terry O'Quinn an Emmy?

I know!!! What does Terry have to do to impress them??? He's overdue for one big time.

Really enjoyed it & now my brain is burning up over what it all means for Season 6! Will the 1977 guys be flashed into 2007? Is the Loophole the fact that 2 Lockes exist or is the one not in a box actually smokie/dark shirted guy? Was that always how the Incident happened or did they manage to do something significantly different?!?!

Despite it possibly being the last time we get to see Rose, Bernard & Vincent, & also some more slightly naff "A-Team" style shoot-outs I gave the otherwise ace finale a 10. In particular I found the unmysterious way Jacob was finally portrayed then bumped off rather interesting. A good season, topped off by quite a finale.

I gave it a 9.

I've watched it 4 times now, and it's still a lot to handle...

It is a game of "I'll show you" after all, but of what origin? Biblical? Mythical? Out of wordly? All of the above???

The original players...Jacob and the Man in Black...Jacob's the one bringing people to the Island...

The Black Rock! I really hope we see who was on board that ship!

The Losties are responsible for the incident.

Locke is not Locke...Jacob is dead and an H bomb core was detonated by the sexiest Other ever, Juliet.

What more to ask for? Season six, PLEASE!

I gave it a 1. Yep, that's right, a 1. I'm flabbergasted at the amount of praise being heaped on this woefully disappointing ending to a lackluster season. My reasons are many for why this show has become a farce in my opinion. Read through the "Didn't Like It" thread for all those reasons, and more.

I gave it a 10.

I read the entire "Didn't Like It" thread and much of the whining and ranting left me shaking my head. As if those who complain of horrendous writing could do any better, really? Truly? :D

So what makes it a 10 for me?

We were finally given the big story. Jacob versus ???. Those that think the loophole was simply get someone else to wield the knife, I think, are oversimplifying things. I'm sure there's much more to it than that.

While some find Juliet and Kate's changing their minds to be unbelievable, I found it thoroughly believable. Especially Juliet. I think she switched sides because she, a doctor, saw that as a way to save not only the man she loves, but the most people they could possibly save if the plan worked. It was a very selfless sacrifice that she would have to know would doom her to being Ben's obsession.

We finally got to see why these people in particular survived the initial plan crash - Jacob touched them - he has a purpose for them.

Rose and Bernard were the voices of sanity during an insane time. I believe they are meant to show the Losties where their hearts should be and exemplify the type of people Jacob has been trying to bring to the island to prove ??? wrong.

Miles - I loved when he pointed out that they were likely fulfilling some kind of Greek tragedy by causing events that they were trying to prevent. Bravo.

Hurley - a truly good soul - the only one Jacob gave the choice to as to whether or not he'd return. And I believe that his making it Hugo's choice rather than using coercion is what made Hurley get on that plane.

Poor Sayid. His interaction with Jacob has to make me wonder if Jacob is the good guy after all. Jacob basically caused the conditions which caused Nadia's death. He also enabled Sawyer to write that letter. Makes me wonder if the negative LOST screen at the end is indicative that those "black" characters are the good guys while those wearing the white hats are the bad guys.

And this particular cliff hanger leaves much to debate over the long months ahead.

I couldn't sleep after watching it. I'm harsh on ratings (example: I gave "Man behind a curtain," an eight.)
But this, this was a master-piece. Calling it an episode, is a complete under-statement.
Amazing Episode. Amazing. Amazing. Amazing.

10.

This was such an amazing episode. They somehow are still keeping us guessing after 5 years.... they gave us plenty of information this season and yet we are CLUELESS as to what will happen in season 6. IMO that equals amazing writing

10+

Whatever the flaws, it was completely and utterly compelling. Its got to be a 10. Absolutely jaw dropping and edge of the seat stuff all the way through for me.

To the 20-some-odd voters who rated this 5 or lower... I really am curious. Come on. Seriously? Are those joke votes or for real? If you seriously rated this episode 5 or lower, I'm honestly curious why.

Poop, I give it 2/10. I liked the initial scene with Jacob, and it was good that they have revealed him. Much of the acting was strong as usual. But in terms of content and story, this was ridiculous and shoddy, typical of what I've come to expect ever since the start of season four.

I have to rewatch this before I vote. I thought it was terrible. Bouncing around. I was at my sisters and things were a bit chaotic so maybe if I watch it quietly it will be better. That terrible end of the season march music was back like the end of season 4. I should listen to it carefully and find out what it is. I hope I like it better. Also, didn't TPTB over the years say that this was not about science fiction, nor time travel and that it would be explained. Or did I dream that.

It was very mythologically and emotionally dense, but as far as philosophically the show has been lacking lately.

There were some good moments in this finale and some real stinkers. The good-Finally we meet Jacob and his opposite. I am not going to call him Esau because I am not buying that theory at least not yet.I really loved Jacob spinning the tapestry. Its a very nice metaphor for how Lost tells its story and how each characters life or thread combines to create the tapestry. What I hated was the death of Juliet. Juliet has always been cool calm and collected since we first met her.Oh but not in this episode! She is completely falling apart because she feels Kate is a threat to her relationship with Sawyer. This drives her to side with lovelorn Jack in his new found purpose to erase history by exploding a hydrogen bomb because they can't stand the pain of losing in love Seriously? Locke not being Locke did not thrill me either-IF that is the case.:frown:

I finally re-watched it. It was interesting to listen to Esau and Jacob talk at the beginning and Richard and Locke, that was very interesting. "Locke" never answered any of Richard's questions when he said Ben told me you died. Never once did "Locke" answer. He only gave evasive responses that sounded like answers, but weren't. Quite a different viewing the second time around. I gave it a 9.

:1smiling: :tracy:Laughing like two loons at my peeps who were unhappy. Where's ur faith??!!?? Loved it, warts and all (not that many, and some may turn out to be 'beauty spots' next season!! Cmon, I'd reather walk the knife edge of the silver lining than live in the gloom of the cloud! My rating: a 9. I explain my feelings more in the 'Loved it' thread, so won't repeat here. Thankyou Lost cavalcade of talent!

This episodes gets a 10 from me simply for the James/Juliet separation, Locke being rolled out of the box, a bloodied/broken Juliet striking the bomb & finally getting to see Jacob.

There were definitely some questionable moments like the reasons given for the Losties blowing up the island (WTF?), but overall I loved it.
