If Richard did show up on the Black Rock and Jacob was responsible for bringing it to the island, I wonder if Richard ever had a nemesis on that ship? The captain maybe? Like a Muintany on the Bounty kind of story with Richard playing the part of Christain Fletcher? If Richard did win against his nemesis he never attains the position of "Leader" of the others? Only adviser? Jacob makes him ageless but he's not Special Enough to Lead??? Just wondering about Richards role in all of this? Maybe he was once the leader but like Ben gets demoted? I hope we get his backstory next season!

I was just thinking of something related to this topic. I was wondering if we were going to see other face-offs with characters wanting to kill each other but can't. The game played between Jacob and Esau seems to be duplicated by Ben and Widmore. I had been wondering if maybe Jack and Sawyer would go down the same path, especially after that brutal fight. It is very possible that Richard also has/had a nemesis. It seems to be a theme with powerful influence men on the island.
