This time around, I could actually hear the whispers when Sayid was running form Danielle. But my sister was being loud so I couldn't hear what they said. Did anybody hear any words?

Yes! I could understand, somewhat, what they said. I heard something about they found a hatch, or something like that, and they said, "Where are you?". There was probably more but that was all I could catch. At the end there was a creepy laugh.

That's what I thought. I think that the whispers are people the person hearing the whispers has killed. Sawyer and Frank Duckett, Sayid and some guy from the war, and probably Kate will hear whispers in Born to Run.

Part of it was overlapped with Danielle's voice so it was a bit hard to tell which was her at some points.

They did not sound like that in the original episode so I'm wondering how much stck we can put in them this time. ???

When rewatching this I kind of fell under the impression that maybe the "others" are Danielle's people and she never really killed them and now they are hiding from her. She refers to "the others" as the carriers and she mentions in her transmission that "the others" are dead....I don't know, but I just started to consider that.

But the whispers did seem to be in another language, but it kind of sounded French to me, not Arabic. I'll have to rewatch it though.

That's what I've been thinking since Outlaws. The whispers were saying to Sawyer "It'll come back around" and that's what Frank said just before he died.

The whispers from Solitary, tonight, were louder and they sounded Arabic to me. Like Sawyer, Sayid feels very guilty for what he did.

Same with Danielle. Her whispers are probably her team that she killed.

But she says she's never seen the others. Only heard them whisper. She's obviously seen the others on her team.

My husband thought he heard Arabic as well. I wanted to know if anyone heard whispers WAYYYY in the beginning when the survivors first see/hear the 'monster'. I swear I heard some whispers at that point, but I am not sure if I was hearing the whispers of the survivors wondering what the noises are, OR if it was really indeed whispers. Anyone hear something too?

The following page on lostlinks.net contains a transcript of the whispers from the various episodes. As far as I know, it's just a fan's guess at what the whispers are saying - nothing taken from a script or official source or anything like that - still, I thought it was interesting:

Actually something that I realized last night is that Danielle just refers to the carriers in that statement- not The Others specifically.* It may have been the editting for The Journey, but I'm wondering if we're just making the connection in our own minds that The Carriers and The Others are the same.* It also occurred to me last night for the first time that maybe, just maybe "The Carriers" could refer to women capable of giving birth- like Claire, obviously, as she was a Carrier of a child.* Luckily, I don't think we'll have to wait very long to figure out what Danielle meant as she's supposed to show up again quite soon.

Also- I concur with the other people in here who thought they heard Arabic. I wondered that in the past, but I definitely heard some Arabic inflection in the whispers last night. It probably also helped that I turned up the volume just in time to concentrate on them. ;)

From what I heard the transcript supposedly comes from somebody who used some audio equipment to isolate and amplify the different whispers. If this is accurate, and the transcripts are correct, it really adds a lot to the mystery of the island.

Yea, but if her team got away and she believed she killed them and they are now hiding from her, she's never seen the "others" who really are her co-workers....if that makes sense.

I thought I heard something like a key and then hide here but it could have been Sayid here or something like that. but much louder....and so was the voice on the other end of Boone's call out It so sounded like his own voice this time. I didn't think so the first time.
