View Full Version : On the Plane
hopelesslylost 04-27-2005, 10:39 PM I tried to study the scenes on the plane to see if I could see anyone besides
Kate, Jack, Locke, Charlie and Rose, but I never do.
Did anyone see any other of the fab 14?
Charlie 04-27-2005, 10:40 PM Sayid.
hopelesslylost 04-27-2005, 10:40 PM Really? Where?
Charlie 04-27-2005, 10:43 PM He was sitting there with his hands under a blanket. Don't ask me where "there" is. ;)
Hallie_Marie 04-27-2005, 10:48 PM Ah, the hours I've lost studying this. After watching the pilot a thousand times, I got:
No Sayid, Micheal, Walt, Jin, Sun, Hurley, Claire, Sawyer seen on the plane.
When Charlie is running to the front of the plane, he stumbles across a few people in their seats, including a girl who yells, "Hey!" The girl is Shannon, and Boone can be seen sitting next to her (for about a second).
Rose and Jack sit next to each other (from across the aisle), and Locke is in the seat behind Rose.
And of course Kate is off somewhere else.
I saw Shannon but I couldn't see if Boone was beside her. Someone (I think it was Charlie) walks through a row of passengers to get to an aisle and Shannon is in that row he walks through.
hopelesslylost 04-27-2005, 10:51 PM Wow!
You saw all those people?
How did I miss them?
Can't wait for the final episode!
Hallie_Marie 04-27-2005, 11:06 PM Oh yeah I hear the finale will contain a flashback that takes place on the plane, featuring (dum dum DUM!) our sexy departed friend Boone. Woo!

Lol... are you so sure about that? After tonight's bait and switch (blaming ABC, not the producers), the season finale might be just the whole bunch of them sitting around the campfire singing songs and roasting boarmallows.

:lol2: That literally made me bust out loud laughing.
JeremyBender 04-28-2005, 08:02 AM I saw Shannon but I couldn't see if Boone was beside her.
It was, I did a frame-by-frame and it's the dear departed Boone.
If Locke was in a wheel chair, would he be in a bulkhead aisle or something similar so that they have room to get him in to his wheelchair? You know, where they put the pre-boarding people?
Ethansgirl 04-28-2005, 10:22 AM the season finale might be just the whole bunch of them sitting around the campfire singing songs and roasting boarmallows.
OMG, that made my morning. That was beautiful.
Elf-lady 04-28-2005, 11:13 AM I love the boarmallows! Nice, crispy fat on the outside, charcoalled a bit....yummy! I particularly hated the voice-over, and hoped for more than just a recap, but I think it's interesting what they chose to show and what they left out. But that's for another thread, just wanted to compliment the "boarmallows" creator. You're my hero.
On my way to build a fire....

Yes, those are the same ones I can pick out - although I do think there is a scene where possibly Claire can be seen standing in the background I think of the scene with Jack & Rose - would have to look again to be sure that is the right scene - someone had pointed it out previously and afterwards I checked and saw her but it's been awhile so not sure that is the correct scene.
withay 04-29-2005, 03:02 AM I don't have the pilot on tape but just slo-moed part of the scenes on the plane in The Journey. Right after the tail breaks off, first the beverage cart goes flying and then a man goes right after it out the rear (or where the rear used to be...) of the plane. I swear that was Charlie. He had been in the aisle after leaving the bathroom and first was almost hit by the beverage cart when it rolled forward but ducked into the floor space in front of a seat. H e had on jeans and a gray sweats jacket. Whoever went out the rear also had on jeans and a sweats jacket and had longish dirty blond hair.
I did not see Sayid but if his hands were under a blanket that fits in with some theories that he also was a prisoner.* * *
Also, when Kate got her hands out of the handcuffs, the first thing she did was put the oxygen on the marshall. This also fits in with some theories that she had some sort of relationship with the marshall beyond prisoner
Bucki4life2003, I am intrigued by your avatar. Is there some meaning to it or do you just have a unique sense of humor. I started to say "I love your avatar" but that really wouldn't have been true. ;)
kimbers 04-29-2005, 09:39 AM Bucki....very bizarre, but who am I to talk?
Hmmmm....
I think we should have an avatar contest....most creative, best in show, most off-kilter, etc.* *

Nigel Tufnel: That's just nitpicking, isn't it?
wavenest 04-29-2005, 12:40 PM Locke was sitting right behind Rose. And Charlie quikly grabbed a seeat after the turbulence starts.

I know what you mean! I'm paying my 13 year old son and his computer geek friend to fix a few bugs in my computer tommorow. :-[
Back on topic:
Does anyone have any screen clips of Hurley (don't know how I missed him), Sawyer, Walt, Michael, Sun and Jin or Claire on the plane?

Oh, no, it did not offend me in the least! It's just so different from what so many folks post and it's just so different period! :lol2: When you first look at it, you don't realize that this little girl has a man's face....well at least I didn't. Then it hit me that something about that picture was not quite right ::) I think it's funny and if anyone gives you a hard time about it, they need to get a life.
As for computer literacy, I know just enough that people think I'm an "expert" and then refer all there other friends to me to "fix" things. I am, however, smart enough to know the limits of my knowlege so I frequently have to decline and refer them to the real experts.....the kids!
Mithrandir 05-01-2005, 05:49 PM Locke was in a wheel chair, would he be in a bulkhead aisle or something similar so that they have room to get him in to his wheelchair? You know, where they put the pre-boarding people?
Ive noticed this too. Handicapped people sit in special seats, usally all the way up front near first-class. There is more room in these seats, specifically for people in wheelchairs.
So why have Locke sitting in a normal seat? Maybe just another mistake made by the show......
bucki4life2003 05-02-2005, 12:50 PM thanks for the understanding withay--maybe i will get message boards for dummies for my birthday thursday...lol :lol2:
are we sure locke was in a seat or was his wheelchair in the row behind rose?
Ethansgirl 05-02-2005, 12:53 PM are we sure locke was in a seat or was his wheelchair in the row behind rose?
I don't think they'd let him fly in his wheelchair...he'd have to be strapped into a seat, wouldn't he? Maybe they couldn't put him in one of the usual places for handicapped passengers because he was a last-minute passenger (having just had his walkabout cancelled).

You know I haven't read that point made before for why Locke wasn't in a 'usual handicapped passenger' section but it is a great explanation for why he was seated where he was!
bucki4life2003 05-02-2005, 03:51 PM i dont know the procedures for handicapped passengers...if he was a last minute addition could they have just secured his wheelchair somehow.....for some reason i just think that he was "in" the wheelchair on the plane.... :-\

The only question I have on that is wouldn't think someone would have noticed him in the wheelchair? Also, I don't think airplane seats can easily be removed and stowed somewhere - they'd have to remove the existing seat to accomodate the wheelchair.

Yes, it would have been very unlikely that none of the other survivors would have forgotten a man in a wheelchair in a section not intended for the handicapped. As for the possibility of securing the wheelchair somehow...I can't see how that would be possible, and even then you'd have to secure Locke into the chair somehow...and I doubt that Locke's wheelchair would have met the requirements for structural integrity that would be required for it not to be considered a crash hazard. If that "fasten seatbelts" light goes on they want to make sure that nothing is mobile, so that no one will be hit by flying debris. No way could Locke have remained intact if he hadn't been strapped into a seat.
bucki4life2003 05-02-2005, 04:39 PM true....you 2 showed me the light on this....so do you think they had to lift him into the seat(out of his wheelchair) then they store the wheelchair in the compartment ? i dunno , i am sure there is more explaination on this ....but like the rest of the answers we are hoping for , i believe we will have to wait a while.... :'(

Of course, all any of us can do is speculate!
I would guess that Locke was wheeled to his seat (possibly boarded first with the first-class passenger group, because they'd need the aisles cleared to maneuver the chair...that would also explain why the others in the mid-section didn't see him in the chair). He would have lifted himself into his assigned seat, and the flight attendant would have secured the chair...wherever...until the plane landed (or it was needed for a trip to the bathroom or whatever).
