for me to poop on. ::)

They made all the characters look lame and 2 dimensional. You didn't get a feel for any character except Jack and Charlie.

It would be bad if it was a new episode. It's just to refresh our memories...recaps. That's all it was. It wasn't made to give us a feel for the characters.

And had it been promoted as being what it was, I would not be upset. However it was promoted as something completely different. ABC (who controlled the content of this program) promoted it as telling pre-crash stories and how they interrelated. ABC said we would learn something about the island its self. ABC said it would entice new viewers, but have new things for the established fans as well. I didn't see any of those things tonight. Not one.

It was made for new viewers to start tuning in, but they didn't give the new viewers anything to intice them into watching. The only things they did right were Danielle and the hatch. But all of those were past the 30 minute mark, and if I was a new viewer I would've turned my channel to American Idol(or whatever else is brainless on fox) after 15 minutes of boring english narrator.

it was pretty boring and they left out several things.

ABC said it would entice new viewers

That's what it was for. I knew from the start that it would be only a recap with nothing new. Of course, it wasn't going to show everything but at least new viewers would know what the general plot was. The Journey didn't have to be as good as a new episode. Just take it as a recap, forget about it, and watch the new one next week.

The only thing that was good about tonights recrap eppie si that, for once, they DID NOT make Boone look bad. I was grateful that they did not detail how Boone hid the water. TPTB "might' have read some of the responses of ours that we did NOT like they way they mistreat our fair Boone, at least I hope so. 8)

I wasn't too disappointed, I wasn't expecting anything new though. I sorta hoped they would show flashbacks too. They should have done that last week instead of showing a rerun, show a recap for the flashbacks. I don't think it really helped new viewers catch up because the flashbacks were pretty integral to everything. But like I mentioned in another thread, I thought it was interesting how they focused so much on "The Others", it makes me think the next few episodes are gonna be pretty "Others"-heavy. There was also alot on Ethan most of which I didn't find necessary unless he really is coming back or we're gonna hear alot more about him soon. It would be neat if they did a recap show for all the characters individually for like, the summer or something.

I took it for what is was and more than once I thought "This is like a Greatest Hits show, all the major bits are there". I saw a few things I never noticed before (seating arrangements on the plane etc.) so it wasn't a waste of time. The narrator thing was pretty lame, though maybe necessary.

I'm just tired of all the foreplay, I want the last block of original episodes to start airing so we have something new to talk about. :)

I can't believe everyone is so down on this episode. I NEVER , EVER can sit through a clips show of any tv show I watch. This was by far the greatest clip show i've ever seen, and been able to sit through. Most shows just show clips that jump all over the place, this one was segued perfectly from one scene to the next. The narration added some extra punch. To me, even though I want new episodes, this was 10x better than watching another repeat, and an extremely creative way to put together one of these type of episodes. It just goes to show how much attention this production is giving to go the extra mile to impress it's viewers. Very well done in my opinion(for a clips show).

I took it for what it was. A visual version of "And our story so far..."

I took an opportunity to watch old scenes with a new perspective. How different scenes and interactions can be taken differently with the information we now have.

It was fine with me. Better than a rerun.

It caught the late arrivals up, maybe, but I, as some above, feel like I was misled in that ABC promised something for those who have been on board all along.

I'm totally with those who are DISAPPOINTED beyond belief!!! I waited anxiously for the "new" info promised by ABC. Up until the last minute I was sure it was going to be there.....I "knew" they wouldn't LIE TO US! What a SUCKER I am!!!!!! OK, ABC, you got me. I wasted an entire hour waiting for you to follow through and deliver the goods. >:(

Did you all miss that last line??? And for those who failed (Shot of Locke on hatch) and whose faith was restored (hatch lights up). Major foreshadowing there.

I think our hopes were just too high. LOST is information dense. How much could they put in a 1 hr. epi? The lack of flashbacks made the island more intense to me. The monster and the others whom I sometimes discount are very much with them. Did Danielle say before to watch those who want to go home the most very carefully? I didn't recall that.

Just chill, sweeties, how often does TV this good come around? The reason for spacing out the new epis is the ratings system. We want LOST to get high ratings so more production money is avail. You wouldn't want your favorite character killed off because salary demands got to high, would you?

Alias had a far better recap episode in its first season that actually gave us plot revelations and plot developments and gave us a feel for EVERY character. But..then again, J.J. actually wrote and directed that episode and decided what clips would be in it. Not some ABC suit.

Well ABC has some issues and that's all I'm going to say.
