This aired on Thursday on BBC3, I believe. Basically a clip show with scenes from New!Who (mainly Ten) mixed with interviews with John Barrowman, Freema Agyeman and a couple of others.

There weren't any real spoilers in it but I thought some of the scenes were interesting choices which might or might not shade some light on the upcoming specials and the 5th season.

So this will be me speculating about a few things, mixed in with some spoilers I know for the specials and the new season. So be warned!

I thought it was really interesting that the whole clip show started and ended with clips from Silence in the Library/ Forest of the Dead featuring River Song. Actually that was the thing that had me thinking: Oh this could mean something, let's see what else they show us!
So including those scenes between Ten and River Song seem to indicate (along with the set pictures of Alex Kingston) that River Song will indeed play an (important?) part in the 5th season. Which makes River's line how she's never seen the Doctor so young, kinda funny because Eleven's appearance will be quite a bit younger than Tens. :71: Of course the Doctor himself (his mind) will be... well, not a LOT older but a bit. ;)

They also showed quite a few scenes with Jenny, the Doctor's daughter and Georgia Moffat was also in the interviews. And she's back to being blonde... Hint or no hint? Will we see Jenny again?
When we saw Jenny come back to life at the end of the episode, everyone assumed we'd see her back very soon, maybe for the finale but we never did. And I think I read this was because Steven Moffat liked the idea (of Jenny) very much (think maybe he was the one who had the idea in the first place?), and that he wanted to go on with it. So RTD kinda dropped the idea, so that SM could pick it up in the 5th season.
I can't remember where I read all this, and it could have been only fan speculation and I'm mixing this up, but the combination of seeing Jenny, seeing Georgia Moffat and the blonde hair, gave me a bit of an aha moment (not the Norwegian band). Plus in my very personal opinion David Tennant only stepped down as the Doctor because he didn't want to play his girlfriend's father again. ;)

Okay and another scene kinda tickled my speculation senses. This might be really nothing, tho. But it is connected to some spoilers I know about the upcoming specials.

The scene was from the Fires of Pompei. Donna begs the Doctor to save the people of Pompei and reminds him of his own planet which burnt and his people dying and the Doctor replies that he can't go back, that he'd saved them if he could but he can't.

Donna: (crying and shouting): You can't just leave them.
The Doctor: Don't you think I've done enough? History's back in place and everyone dies.
Donna: You've got to go back. Doctor I am telling you, take this thing back. It's not fair.
The Doctor: No it's not.
Donna: But your own planet. It burned.
The Doctor: That's just it. Don't you see Donna? Don't you understand if I could go back and save them I would but I can't. I can never go back, I can't. I just can't, I can't.

Okay, so, this probably means - as the Doctor has stated before - that he can't go back in his own timeline, he can't change his own history. Fixed points in time and all that. But the way he said it, more like _I_ can't go back in time vs I _can't_ go back in time (different emphasis) made me think: well, what if he could go back? If he had the physical ability or possibility to go back but he just can't do it, he's just too scared, too afraid of the consequences to do it?
And what if that's what he's going to do in his (Ten's) final episodes?

The whole Time War, destruction of Gallifrey, last of the Time Lords and all that, was an invention of New!Who/ RTD. Since RTD is leaving now and someone quoted him saying that he wants to leave a "tabula rasa" for Steven Moffat, wouldn't it be great to kinda go back to something that was first hinted at in the first episode of New!Who and complete the circle?
From the trailer that was shown at Comic Con, we know that the Master (or John Simm at least) will be back in the specials and according to spoilers he won't be the only Time Lord we'll be seeing then.

And well, maybe going back, maybe trying to change the outcome of the Time War, or at least saving someone there, will be the cause of his regeneration? (hey, beats tripping over a piece of brick!) And possibly the destruction of the Tardis. (RTD also said that he always wanted to blow up the Tardis... well... that'd be his last chance to actually do it! Plus if you look closely at the set pictures, Eleven's Tardis (and also his screwdriver) look quite different. The Tardis looks very bright and shiny new... maybe she is a new Tardis?

Okay... this is it. Probably just a lot of senseless ramblings and it'll all turn out really differently but I wanted to write that down because I can't sleep anyway in case something does turn out the way I predicted it so I can tell you I told you so. :tongue1:

Thank you... :blushing:

The 2nd ep aired last Thursday and it was all about the companions. There was a lot of Rose, Martha and Donna but there were no scenes that stood out to me like in the first eppy. I think there were equal amounts of all three of them and all 3 actresses commented in interviews.

If anything stood out it was maybe Donna's exit out of the show and how much it pained the Doctor to have to let her go. I think David Tennant said something about how there was a love story between Rose and the Doctor and it ended bad, then there was some kind of love story between Marfa and the Doctor (however one-sided it was) and that ended bad, so finally he had found a companion in Donna that was really only "a mate", someone he could have just fun with traveling and then he had to take all knowledge about himself from her to save her sanity.

I admit I didn't pay THAT much attention to the Marfa parts. Loved the parts with Rose and the interviews with Billie Piper.

Oh and there was also Traci-Anne Oberman, John Barrowman and Camille Coduri in interviews.

No spoilers in this post.;)

Okay, just watched the 3rd part, this time it was all about the villains and, at least I think, it proved my theory that they put emphasis on the parts that will be important for the upcoming specials and season 5.

SOME REAL SPOILERS COMING UP HERE!

The first villain they showed, and not only showed briefly but made sure the audience would learn everything about him, his life and his relationship to the Doctor, was the Master. How he hid himself in that fob watch, remembered, regenerated, his evil plans, his death by his wife and refusal to regenerate again. They even showed his ring and hinted that he might have used it to hide and conceal himself again. Not very subtle there, huh? But then, John Simm (as the Master?) has been shown in the special trailer, so I don't think they expect anyone to be really surprised by his return.

They showed a lot of the other villains, human villains like Luke Rattigan and Van Stetten, of course they also showed the aliens like the Sontarans, and Cybermen, the Sycarox and the Empress of the Ragnoss but the villains they always seemed to be coming back (and who ended the show) were the Daleks. Not really surprising, of course, because they're probably the most "loved" villains (by the audience) and the Doctor's biggest enemies.

Also not really surprising when you know the most recent spoilers

Poor Doctor, he just can't get away from them, can he? LOL! No wonder he's so irritated by them. But I can't WAIT to see the Dalek serving tea to Chruchill! LOL! That is going to be such an amazing episode!

And I have to wonder what or if John Barrowman knows anything we don't know since he said, he likes to think that Davros is still out there in a pod and being really pissed at the Doctor, just waiting to take revenge. I just hope it won't be Davros who causes the Doctor to regenerate. :(

Oh and another episode they spent rather a long time on was Midnight, which I thought was really interesting because the trailer for Waters of Mars, reminds me so much on Midnight. The whole claustrophobic feel, the OMG we're trapped inside this thing and something evil is coming for us, the different reactions of the different characters, the slowly but surely turning against each other, mistrusting each other and so on... and the Doctor as the voice of reason until the whole situation gets over his head (which doesn't happen too often!).

Oh and they had some parts from the Lazarus eppy and the bit where the Master regenerated into John Simm and the whole "I'm reborn, I'm young again":.. wonder if that is foreshadowing of the Doctor's next regeneration and his very young new self. ;)

And what if that's what he's going to do in his (Ten's) final episodes?

so... it might be too early for a "I told you so" :71: but (and that might be just me) I thought I might have just got confirmation for my theory after watching Waters of Mars and the confidential.

The Doctor broke the laws of time to save 3 people from Mars... so who or what is stopping him now from going back to his own planet and save his own people?

Of course that would cause some kind of paradox since once they're saved, they wouldn't allow him to break the laws of time...

In the confidential David Tennant actually said something similar:
Who or what is going to stop the Doctor from going back to the Time War?
Who or what is going to stop him from going back to Donna, filling her mind with all the information again?
Who or what is going to stop him from getting back Rose from that other dimension?

And thanks to the trailer (and spoilers) we already know that he will be doing 2 of these things... so why not also the third?

Don't know about you but I will cling to my theory until I'm proven wrong by none other than RTD himself. ;)
