Superman Returns star Brandon Routh is joining NBC's Chuck for a multi-episode arc in the show's new season in March 2010, EW.com's Michael Ausiello reported.

Routh's character, Shaw, is a mysterious new spy who takes control as the new leader of Operation Bartowski, becoming a mentor to Chuck and a rival in his affections for Sarah.

Chuck will return on NBC after the Olympics in March.
