I remember Desmond's past self came into his present self in the "Constant". In once read a book where people existed in two timelines. When one slept his soul went into the body of his other timeline. I wonder if alternate sayid has traveled into original sayid's body.

That would mean that Sayid is time skipping like Desmond did?

We've seen Jacob appear to Hurley, so Sayid doesn't appear to be possessed by Jacob. He woke up and seemed to recognized everyone. Not sure... seems like he was healed. Perhaps someone else has the touch?

I believe that Sayid never was completely dead because Miles couldn't "hear" him. It seems he tried to but then gave up when Hurley adressed him and he just said "nothing".

Or he said "nothing" because he was a little distracted by Sayid's death whispering, grrrr.....

To add something completely unexpected: Maybe Sayid isn't Jacob, but the "real" John Locke?

It's so weird you would say that, because in the scene where Jack was trying to revive Sayid, I really thought that it was going to be revealed that Jack has a healing ability. His whole life as a "man of science" has caused his supernatural healing ability to be put on the shelf. But after becoming more of a man of faith and returning to the Island with that kind of mindset, then his healing abilities begin to manifest themselves for the first time. I dunno...probably just in my head. But I really did expect Sayid to immediately open his eyes just because of Jack's efforts.

What about the orange blood water as a sign that Sayid might be Jacob?
Your friend is dead...

It was really just mentioning another possibility. Maybe the pool is a "pool of souls".
It certainly is strange if Sayid came back from death, after all, dead is dead. So we can think about all the possible scenarios. On the other hand, maybe Jacob's touch prevents souls from leaving the body. And the pool just heals the body. So you can heal the body in the pool and bring people who have been touched by Jacob back to life... you see... I am still trying to bring old John Locke back

That idea is so cool, it might just be a spoiler. I'll have to stop reading replies to my posts.

I don't think he was ever really dead either. But who is he now. Possiblly a re-born Sayid, a redeemed Sayid. a go and sin no more Sayid. Which would make him different but still Sayid?

Well, Alternate Demond wasn't on the island, which means that he didn't get zapped with electromagnetism which means he didn't get unstuck and none of that business never happened to him. At least in the alternate universe. So I doubt it will happen to Sayid.

I don't know... "Your friend is dead" is probably true ... a lot of people on the Island are... but alt. Sayid is alive in the other time line and so is Nadia his love...so Sayid is alive somewhere out there still... as is Charlie and all the others...

Jacob didn't say Sayid would be saved; he said get Sayid to the Temple before it's too late. Jacob's been dead an hour... maybe there's a window in which he can transfer himself?

When Ben was healed in the Temple, he was never to be the same...to lose innocence... wish I knew what that stuff meant... Funny that Sayid is the one who caused Ben to need the Temple.

Whatever happened to him... don't count on him being the same?

Speaking of not being the same... didn't Boone ..drunk Boone.. seem odd? I thought Ian did a great job being as weird as Claire seemed in the cabin ... "If anything happens to this plane, I'm sticking with you."

And Boone stuck with John on the Island and died because of it.

oh the irony lol.

Or perhaps Jack did heal Sayid with the healing touch. But since Jack's state of mind is well down at the moment, any life force he would give to Sayid would be similarly less powerful. Hence why Sayid may not have had an obvious response, but instead only the faintest of heartbeats that Jack could not even detect. (And as a side note, someone with a great deal of sci-fi background mentioned to me that it was significant that Sayid finally roused just as Jack showed anger at the Temple Others who were trying to take him out to speak with him. He indicated that if Jack's life force, through the healing touch, was used to bring back Sayid, Jack's stronger emotion would be tied to it. Just a thought from a sci-fi person.)

anger, pain, frustration, fear...caused the Hulk to emerge... David Banners eyes changed color... similarly, when any of the characters in Lost express anger, surprise, or deception, there are eye color changes... like mood rings... sometimes both eyes change, sometimes only one eye, sometimes one eye more than the other.

Emotion also plays a part in Walt's ability to cause birds to fly at his window... would they fly right into him if there were no windows?

Dude, I love that. I can't wait to find out if it's true!
