What if there's no alt timeline at all? Maybe the show's finale will result in the island being sunk, time reseting itself but having a ripple effect both into the past and future of the Oceanic 815 flight. The alt timeline is showing us what different decisions our characters would make through their whole lives if the island didn't exist yet subconsciously they've learned the moral lessons from the experience. This explains why li'l Locke drew the Smoke Monster, Charlie "knows" where to die, Shannon instinctively knows not to go on that flight...

I'm not sure if podcast reveals are spoiler stuff so I'll spoiler this:

Darlton debunk the alt timeline theory in the podcast. Both timelines are real and happening to our Losties. Now the million dollar question is "when" are these timelines happeing? At the same time or are we just being shown them at the same time? ;)

I don't get that spoiler. It is pretty confusing:confused:

That would be in line with the constantly joked Season 7 being the zombie season!

I've been thinking all along that there was no alt time line. Would you be able to post the link to this podcast or at least direct me to where you found it? TIA

Did you notice that there's no confirmation that the plane we see in the LA X opening scene is flight #815? We can't see the year date on Sayid's passport documents either.
