Kerry here!!!!

you need to put Michael Bandarik and Ralph Nader up there...I'm Libertarian and am voting Badnarik.

Pluse..>I could be wrong ...but I'm betting youll get an overwhelming Kerry support here because these types of shows are TYPICALLY (not allways) enjoyed by left brained creative people and they tend to be liberal....where as more right brained literal thinking people tend to be conservative.

I thought the same thing, speaker...even though I'm conservative and am voting for Bush...

And I really don't care who everyone is voting for...Just GET OUT and VOTE!!!! OK...that was my public service announcement of the day.

I still haven't had a chance as of yet - still have another meeting in 10 minutes before I can go - but a couple friends of mine had to wait 1.5-2 hours in line before they got the chance to vote. I'll probably be waiting about that long when I go in a bit... as for my vote - Bush

(btw - I'm in Miami, FL)

:starwars:
Of course I will. *Sorry for being so two partied.

:punk:
I sure hope most people are voting Kerry! I love your answer here Speaker. *I am being honest here when I ask you Speaker, what would be a t typical show a right brained thinking person watch? *Would a show like ER or West Wing be typical? *I really am not being sarcastic, I honestly did not even know what you said was a factor. *I am intrigued now and must find this information. *However, like Sherry said, just vote people, this is your right!

I'm hearing stories about long lines/waits...how long did everyone have to wait? It took me about 20 minutes early this morning

:vampire:
I only waited in line for about two minutes. *However, there are only 637 registered voters in my precinct.

I actually have a sad story in regards to this. *I went to my local voting booth place and was ready to fill my all Democrat card out and the people there said I was not registered. *Now this would have been the first time I would have ever voted because when Bush ran the first time I was a stupid teenager and did not understand politics. *So I was definitely going to vote for Kerry this year and these people told me I was not registered. *So I called up the people in my State that I needed to talk to, and they said when I registered when I was eighteen something was not filled correctly, and the problem was on there end and that I would not be able to vote this year because a person must be officially registered twenty-nine days prior to the election. *Therefore, if the popular vote has Bush winning by one vote over Kerry then man am I going to be mad. *Sucks huh?

Sherry
11-02-2004, 01:59 PM
That does suck, My What! You'd think something like that they could have informed you of when you registered!

Alucard - there are always exceptions to every rule :-)

Sherry - took me 10 minutes, but I went DURING work...I heard about two hour lines this morning on the Radio

My What - thanks :-)

The right brained/left brained thing was revealed to me by a friend. He's a Republican. We're both in to RPGs. He said that typically (not always) D&D players are liberal, because the game is more creative and requires more story telling and acting. And someone who plays the more technical number games like Warhammer and Battletech are typically conservative. He played Warhammer, I typically play D20.
And it seems to apply a LOT ...not always as Alucard proved, but yeah. Notice most actors (not all) are liberal. Joss Whedon held "High Stakes" ...a kerry fundraiser.
It's not necesarily the types of shows people watch, though if I i were forced to pin something down I would say more fantastical shows, horror and light SF would be left brained and hard SF woudl be right.....(again this is speculation) ...but I think it's more how you treat a show. If you speculate a lot, write a lot, get creative about it I think that's what matters.
But again...not 100%....just seems to work that way a lot :-)

And sorry you couldn't vote :-(

It only took me about 15 minutes in line to vote.* Although the lines were quite long (much longer than I ever remember them at my precinct) my line (alphabet r-z) just happened to be short when I got there.* I voted for Kerry* (don't tell my husband!)-- I had a real hard time deciding but I do think it's time for a change.*

Good for you Carol and bang bang bang your dead Speaker. But I will choose to change the poll now to be politically correct.

*
* I waited for 1 hour and 45 minutes to vote.* And I was one of the lucky ones.
* As an R-Zer I got called up to cut threw the last hundred or so people in line
* saving me probably at least another 30 minutes.* Many people in my area vote
* in one place for other elections and then another for the big Federal Presidential elections.
* Of course most of us don't walk around with our V.R. Cards so there were many,
* many stories I heard of people who had spent alot of time in line at the
* wrong place only to be sent to another place and then stand in line again.
* They didn't realize they had two different polling places on their Voter Registration Card
* depending on which election it is.* Of course I spent some of my line time talking up LOST!* :lol2:*
* But, I don't* remember ever having to wait that long in line to vote before.* It was nice to see
* how badly people wanted to exercise their right to vote though.* When I finally got
* to the front I heard the poll volunteers saying the lines had been pretty much like this all day.
* And as I was leaving at about 7 pm the line was still probably 1 1/2 hours long and it was
* starting to lightly rain.

I voted early, so i had to wait like 2 seconds.

I wonder if I am in the minority for voting for Bush?

Hope I didnt lose any cred here...

That being said I find the way Kerry conceded very honorable and I thank him for not dragging this out ala 2000. Its sad that Kerry got bonus points with me after the election.

This is a great day in the United States of America. We the people have declared a president for the next four years to lead us in what hopes to be a promising four years. *I am a strong believer in John Kerry, so I do have a sense of remorse. But all Americans should back our president regardless of who he or she may ever be. This is the time to do what makes America and the world a better place to live in. The republicans have a fare share in the House now as well. President Bush will have less red tape to deal with . So people must still believe in what he or she believes in, but at the same time back up what our President wants or says to do. If we the people want a change, then get off your butt and make a change. The reason Americans are here on earth is to leave America and hopefully the rest of the world in a better place when we pass on. If all the American people do is complain and do nothing about what we complain about, then what is the point. Most people know when this young generation, which I am proud to be apart of, matures more and we become the people our kids and their kids are voting for, the government will belong to the people again. Let us as Americans do the best we can do to be sure this Nation is still safe and has a chance to survive so when this young generation is ready to take over, the Nation will be in a good state of mind and will be easy to operate the way we want to operate the Nation. I am done with my political aspect now and will try to never rant about this again. I am going to change the poll to something else now the election is over but I must think of something creative first. Thank you all for voting and for those who were unable or choose not to, please try harder next time and choose with your heart.

Speaker
11-03-2004, 05:02 PM
no no keep the poll up.....for archiving purposes...

if you want to make a new poll make a new thread!

But I will not NOT complain ;-) I voted, I earned the right to complain! :lol2:

Heh, I think people should stop slinging poop about this election and just say "Ok, this happened. What next? What can we do to make the next 4 years better"

Anyone else sick of people and their talk of leaving the country?? If you're willing to leave because of an election like a whiny toddler, then perhaps the better party won.

But really I dont belong to any party, I could have gone Kerry. In the end, I decided switching presidents would only mean MORE economic downfalls (which happens in every change of office) and having Kerry catch up on all the military intell.

Do you think the FBI scans the Fuselage?

I completely agree with you Jenn... Bush did get my independent vote, but barely.* I figured it's probably best not to change administrations when in the middle of a war - no matter how much I can't stand it...

as for the FBI... who knows what types of sites they scan? anything's possible... but somehow I doubt they do... IMHO

My What
11-03-2004, 05:17 PM
First off I think the FBI has installed a software program into the internet that scans all websites for "Red Flags". what I mean by "Red Flags" is if a person were to threaten the President or write any thing which may be a threat to man kind. I think you understand my point. After this software program has scanned a "Red Flag", a real person comes to the site and assesses the situation to see if the person writing is actually a threat or not. The reason I have this theory is because this is in place on all cell phones and most LAN-lines. If you were to say over your cell phone you wanted to "Ki ll the Pre sident" you would be considered a suspect person and legally you could be arrested and tried. I would not worry to much though because the government has much more things to deal with then a person who is making empty threats. *

If a person says they do not want to live in America because of who our President is then fine, this is their opinion but my opinion is to deport the person for being unamerican. America is to beautiful to have people not enjoy the freedom in which is given to us at no cost. Freedom does not have a price tag. Man I said I was not going to talk about this anymore.

Nice post, MyWhat. I totally agree. Although I voted for Kerry I wasn't totally wiped out about Bush winning because I had a hard time deciding; I'm somewhat in the middle. I thought the concession speech and acceptance speech were both class acts. I just hope everyone can move forward now.

And Speaker, no you won't tell! Actually, my husband's in Iraq and you can guess who he voted for.
