Remember when Michael couldn't kill himself, because the island wasn't done with him. No matter what he couldn't die until he had been on the boat.

So, does this mean Locke was done with the island when he was killed?

Did the Island want Jacob dead?

That's a great question.... But if that's the case... then you also have to figure all the other killings that have happened on the island.... Could it be that if your killed by someone "on your side" that's part of the loophole that got "Jacob"... "Killed".... cause I find it hard to think the Island was done with him as well....

What if the island wanted Jacob dead? So killing locke resulted in MIB taking his body and then minipulating Ben into killing Jacob.

Hmm, I don't know about all this, but could MIB be more connected to the island than Jacob ever was.

I don't think the Island lets you die until your role is fulfilled.

Michael couldn't die until he delayed the explosion.

Juliet was dragged down the shaft, but survived to make the bomb explode.
