Okay so if everyone that Jacob wanted to bring to the island was touched by him at some point earlier in time, why is it that Hurley was only touched before he boarded the Ajira flight?

He's the only Lostie with a link to the numbers. Why was he on flight 815 at all? With all the mystic qualities associated with the numbers, it seems apparent that Hurley would have been given this tie in to the island and the numbers early on. It seems kind of confusing that he didn't get an early, early visit from Jacob.
