View Full Version : Ben is doomed.

I guessed a few epis ago that Ben would be the next important character to bite the dust. I stand by that guess. Sayid has always wanted to kill him and I think he might just get that chance.

I'll miss Ben big time if that happens.

Sayid had that chance in this episode and let it go by.

Yeah, why the heck did Ben go after Sayid anyway. Since when does he care about that dude (or almost anyone)? But certainly not Sayid.

I'll be really upset if Ben dies. I mean, all my favorite characters (Dogen, the original Locke, Faraday...) seem to get killed off, so I guess I was expecting it.

Ben better be doomed. He's killed too many people, and among the people he killed was John Locke. I have no problem with an episode where he takes one to the head. If Sayid has to go all dark and evil, I want Ben right behind him.

It's certainly looking that way, isn't it? I love Ben to bits and pieces and I really hope he lasts a couple more episodes. But yeah...there's no way this guy is making it to the finale.

Ben was really freaked out when he saw Sayid's current state of mind.

Flocke really only needed Ben to kill Jacob for him and then you would think he was expendable, but Flocke didn't kill him. He still might not be done with him yet. BUT I have a feeling that Ben is going to be the X-factor and pull through with a major surprise. Everyone kind of forgot what Ben is capable of and are focusing on Flocke vs. Jacob's team. Ben looks very scared and powerless right now but I still believe he is the ultimate dark horse.

In the preview for next week

It seems to indicate that Ben is getting the axe, which is a pretty dumb thing to blatantly advertise, imo. Then again, previews have led us astray before (like the one for tonight, for instance).

As bad a guy as Ben has been, I really just feel sorry for him now. I don't really want to see him die, but I'd definitely like to see him become relevant to the show again, and not just be Ilana's go-to-it boy as he was pointlessly in this episode.

Now, in the preview, did they say

"The man who has caused so many deaths will meet his demise"
or did I hear that wrong?

Sayid had that chance in this episode and let it go by.

He let it go by because, just like many other times during this show, Sayid/Flocke needs info from him. If he actually has info that would further the evils' agenda that might buy him an epi or two, but, as soon as he gives up that info he's dust.

Ben is doomed.

It's a little different.

Actually, it said "will face his own demise". This can be interpreted differently than "meet his demise." If he's facing it, it could mean that he's simply in a life-threatening situation.

It doesn't really seem like a thing they would straight up tell us, you know?

I think Ben does care about them. He's just so broken that he can't help but be his evil self. Case in point the funeral for Locke:

He was a better man than me, I'm sorry I murdered him.

Yes, thank you. I'm glad I'm not the only one who sees some shred of good in Ben.

Only mods can make threads in the preview forum section, and they haven't done so yet. Otherwise I would happily comply.

Poor Poor Ben... one of my favorite characters! Extremely well acted I might add! He just seems like a broken little man now that was used and tossed aside.

Yes, I think Ben still has work to do. I'm thinking he may be responsible for the reset in the end.

I don't think they'll spoil a major character death in a promo.

You would hope not. I really want to see some more of the depth we have seen in the past with Ben.

The fact that they put that in the promo, just makes me think that he will absolutely not die. They love to mislead us like that. Also, I think they are just beginning to develop him, I think he will end up being a major hero in the end and maybe sacrificing himself for someone else, but deff not yet.

I'd like to point out that people responding to spoiler-fonted talk should also spoiler-font THEIR comments (ie the past three posts). I shouldn't be blamed for other people's mistakes.

It'd be pretty stupid for Ben to be killed off so early. He's too good of a foil for so many of the other characters.

Only mods can make threads in the preview forum section, and they haven't done so yet. Otherwise I would happily comply. Not sure of that...there's at least one thread in the past month in there that wasn't started by a mod. But there's also a thread in there for this preview, now (you're right, there wasn't one when you posted the above post, beema). So discussions of the previews should be taken over there.

BTW, beema, nobody was blaming you for anything (as far as I know, anyway). It was just a general announcement.
