No sign of him for the last two episodes! I thought he would have at least made an appearance at the temple before it got ransacked. Any thoughts?

exactly....Richard is in the secret annex/exit that Illana went in....the symbol on the block is called a shen....It's a Shen (http://forum.thefuselage.com/showthread.php?t=121294) .
it's likely that the Temple has a room (arsenal) that offers some basic warring tools.
maybe the annex tunnels to the barracks or leads beneath the spring/pool of which the drain plug will be uncorked LOL. IT'S A SAFE PLACE. a kind of home (plate LOL) base if you will... whatever the annex is, Illana knows exactly what/where it is and is important to helping Jacob. I believe it's more important than we all currently think....we''ll find out soon...i hope. Richard too knows and is awaiting Illana and crew.....perhaps they are physically and spiritually gearing - up for a smackdown!

I think he finally came to his senses and left in Desmond's sailboat. Think about it, the guy never ages. He's been off the island before. Why stay? He can dock his boat at my place any time. :biggrin:
