There was so much buildup to MIB getting into the temple because it seemed like there was a key tool there to getting home, but he just slaughtered fools en route to some new location. Any guesses where he is going?
The Orchid for some reason? FDW? Taking the Ajira plane off the island? He did tell all these people he was going to get them off the island. The only thing we have seen on the island at this time that could do that would be the Ajira plane. I think he sent Sawyer to go perform some task before they can fly off the island. Maybe to kill Jack.
Also, any thoughts on the Temple not being that important after all besides it's rejuvenating powers?

The others were building a runway for the plane in season 3, but was told by Jacob. Maybe Ben was being guded by Smokey this whole time. Jacob had nothing to say to Ben before he killed him maybe because he knew he's been manipulated for all this time by Smokey. That's why he built the runway and brought the plane and Locke's body, all for what Smokey needed to happen to get off the island.

Good point. I think we have seen a ton of signs Ben was being manipulated by MIB rather than Jacob throughout the series. Ben has the power to summon Smokey, he goes to be judged by him etc. MIB has been putting together all the pieces to get off the island. Sawyer is playing a role (just a gut feeling it is getting rid of Jack), Claire likewise, Kate fits in somewhere, Locke's part is obvious, Sayid's infection and purpose became huge in Sundown.
We have only seen small parts of Jacob's plan. The touching of the Losties in their past. (But he did ask Hurley to save Sayid, so did he want Dogan and Lennon to die? Quite possible. He seemed apathetic to their lives when he is talking to Hurley. So we see him manipulating Jack also, but there must be some way Jacob is going to fight back soon.
So they will need a pilot to get off the island. We assume that should be Lapidus, but maybe this plan goes back to the pilot. And that has a double meaning here, as what I am getting at is that that is why MIB kills Seth Norris. To steal his ability to fly the airplane.
There is a very poetic symmetry to the 1st episode being connected to the very last (when MIB gets off the island) and his plan stretching back that long.

MIB could be using dead Jacob to take his form and manipulate Hurley too.

I think it's unlikely because Ilana said he can't change his form now. It's Smokey or Locke. Makes things a little bit cleaner for the audience.

I think MIB was playing Jacob for a while and told the Others to build the runway. I'm also sure that's where they're headed. Lapidus said the plane could still be able to fly. Plus, remember who Smokey's first victim in the Pilot episode was? It was the Pilot of Oceanic 815. That probably gave him the knowledge to fly the plane himself.

No way.
Although Ben never saw Jacob, I'm fairly certain that Richard did (to convey lists, etc. to the Others).
Also, the Ajira plane crashed! It's not going anywhere. A huge branch came through the windshield and killed the co-pilot. You can't fix the windshield of a 747 with Dharma Duct Tape!
