So people are speculating about Jacob and the MIB. And words like Angels and demons, God and Satan are being thrown out there. Atlantis is being mentioned again. But hasn't these things been dismissed over the years by the creators ? I'll be the first to admit the nature of these guys sure points to something like these things. And If I hadn't read about certain theories being dismissed I might be more sure of things. But then again, it almost seems like they have dismissed every possible theory by now. Do you think the right theory is out there, and they just dismissed it, so as to not ruin the show ? Or can we safely assume, that when they dismiss an idea, it is truly false ?

I just thought that Angels, Demons, Heaven, Hell, Atlantis, ghosts, pergatory, aliens had all been dismissed by the creators.

Let me fill you in on a little secret:

If you said, word for word, how Lost would end... do you think Darlton would say, "Kudos! Now please, everyone stick around and watch it unfold"?

They are going to deny EVERY possible theory that people ask them.

Hell, they had said back in season one that there's no TIME TRAVEL.

They also denied alternate reality.

I do still believe that the conflict is not as simple as Go(o)d vs (D)evil or even Faith vs Science. I think the players of The Island Chess Game are [Man is redeemable] for the White and [Man is damned to ruin everything with greed and violence] for the Black.

Who they once were and how they got to The Island are less important than what they stand for. Like all of the Stephen King novels which inspired the series, I think we'll find that there's really no possible end explanation/revelation which can stand up to the awesome story which has been unfolding for six years.

King has said many times that it's not about the ending, it's about the getting there.

I agree with you. But why deny or confirm ? Why do you have to state anything other than No comment ? I understand fostering the buzz and what not. But I'd rather them just say they can't say anything. Otherwise it's an outright lie. I mean, a person can't really form an educated guess, with lies. Keep all the theories alive then. Let people believe what they want till the end. To dismiss stuff, just acts as a way of keeping people from even playing the game so-to-speak.

I disagree with King. So many times I have been into a stephen king story only for the ending to be so weak, it ruins the entire experience. It's lazy thinking in my mind. The ending is just as important as the story. One doesn't have to suffer over the other. Endings are Stephen Kings biggest flaws.

They have not dismissed every single theory, the big ones in my recollection were aliens and purgatory. As for time travel, they said something like there's not time travel going on right now. For many things, they're either said stuff like 'I'm not sure if that's where we are going' or 'you might be down the right path.' As vocal as Damon and Carlton are, it would be hard to just say no comment to all ideas. But that's just my opinion.
