I'm writing my first spec script (speculation script for the show by a fan) for lost, and it's a Shannon episode. Of course, I'll be rewatching H&M, and researching into Shannon more and more, but I wanted to see if anyone could see holes in my idea, or thigns that definitely couldn't be true because of things mentioned in the show...

Speculation Episode 2.04: Imaginary

A plot: Jack, Kate and Sayid are planning a trip to the Black Rock, and Shannon volunteers. She comes with them, but detours from the group when she hears someone calling her name. She heads toward the vouice, and it soon becomes clear it's Boone. She sees him standing there, and is completely confused. He tells her to get what she came for, and the monster's screeches are audible behind her. It's coming from behind her, and she looks behind her. When she looks back, and starts to run, Boone has disappeared. Later, Sawyer catchs her in his stash,a nd asks her what she's looking for. She describes a blue folder. He tells her he doesn't have one, and Charlie says he saw him looking through one a week or two ago. Sawyer swears, and a verbal spat ensues. He digs up the folder, and asks why she's want something like that. Shannon tells him it's got the name of the man who killed her father in it.

B plot (Flashbacks): Shannon is with a private detective. She tells him she wants him to figure out who killed her father (his death was apparently a suicide, but she doesn't buy that, and he replies that it'll cost her. She tells him she can get the monen, and he names his price. They agree to talk in six months. Later (next FB), she's on the phone with him telling him that she can't do it, and he asks her if she'll really give up finding out who killed her father. He tells her it was indeed a murder, and Boone asks her who's on the phone. She ignores him, and tells the man she'll do it. He tells her his man will be in Sydney in a week. Then, she gets off the phone, and Boone tells her that he 'had a talk' with her boyfriend. She smiles, and thanks him. (This scene is implying the Boone scam is in place). In Sydney, she and Bryan are sitting at a table. He makes a crack about her scamming money off her stepbrother, and she tells him that's the only way she'd get her rightful money from Sabrina, and that he'd better keep his mouth shut to Boone. She doesn't want to hurt him. He agrees, and she gets her coat. Boone knocks on the door, and Bryan answers. Beginning of H&M... Final flashback shows her standing in the airport, telling a man on the phone that Bryan ran off with the money and never gave her what she paid for. She's angry. He responds, and tells her to go to the lockers for overnighters, and find Locker 4. She writes down the combination 16 23 42, goes to the locker and opens it. The folder is in the locker, and she manages to grab it and stuff it into her bag before Boone appears and drags her off to their flight.

C plot (Unknown)

Ending: The folder has Sawyer's real name in it, with a picture and information on it. It turns out that, during a scam involving Shannon's parents, Shannon's father found out too much and Sawyer's partner had to kill him. This took place in Tampa, Fl - Hence the 'Tampa job'.

This might have too much in it, or some fudged facts, or not clear enough, so... help, anyone? If I need less detail, etc for an actual ep... *shrug* Any ideas? Of course, the fb's will have to be toned down, and I plan on giving Boone (and Whiterabbit Boone) a bigger part, this is just a threadbare idea in severe need of editing, etc. First draft idea.

Were there any facts in H&M, or Outlaws, that make this impossible? Thanks.

Anyone know the amount Shannon scammed Boone out of?

-Thanks,
Alden

Boone offered Bryan $25,000USD, Bryan told Boone that his love for Shannon was worth closer to $50,000USD.

Boone also told Bryan that he would be the 3rd guy he had paid to leave.

It's a good idea in theory, but I just don't buy Sawyer giving over the folder with his real identity in it and naming Sawyers partner as a killer. It would have to be more subtle than that or Sawyer would have just hurled it into the fire to get rid of it.

I saw the Tampa job as being one where Sawyer the scammer got scammed himself by Hibbs or ended up in prison because of some sort of double crossing by Hibbs. I do think it has to have some importance to one of our castaways or why would the writers throw in such an oblique comment and not flesh it out further by giving it some meaning. I think we may learn that the Tampa job is where Sawyer first came across Kate in some way. Whatever it was that went down with the Tampa job it caused Sawyer to tell Hibbs that if he ever saw him again he would kill him, so it had to have had some sort of major repercussions for Sawyer.

The only way I see Sawyer giving over a folder containing the name of Shannons fathers killer is if he himself didn't recognise the name. Or if it named Hibbs as the killer but didn't mention Sawyer at all. There was no love lost between Hibbs and Sawyer before, and there certainly is even more bad feeling now because of Duckett.

The comment Sawyer made when Shannon asked what he wanted for the bug spray and he answered "5 grand" then "something tells me you're good...for it" could just have been a throw away comment made by Sawyer the jerk, or it could have been something that tells us he knows from experience that Shannons family has money

Nice idea though, keep it up. I agree too that there has to be some reason that Shannon needed money so desperately. My first thought was that she has a child somewhere that she is trying to support...that could have explained her chat with Claire asking her if she knew what sex her baby was.

Thanks for the money amount...

Hmmm... No, he probably wouldn't give it to her. I've got all the flashbacks in my head, and I know Shannon sees Boone/hears whispers, and that Sawyer has the folder. I was thinking more that Sawyer wouldn't give it to her when she told him what the names etc. in the folder meant, but she'd get it from him somehow. Possibly using the gun.

Shannon - Boonewhispers - Sawyer w/ folder. There would probably be more scenes to this conflict, I need help fleshing it out. I want Shannon to try to get the folder, but I dun want another WtCMB...

It could be not the Tampa job, just added that maybe as a bonus. *shrug*

The only definite part of this, really, is the flashbacks and the whispers. The folder-on-island plot is really weak. If it had anyone, who would you suggest?

I finally wrote it! It's part of a series though - episodes five. You'd have to read the first four (written by another guy) to understand what's going on. The plot also changed a little, too - it's not a parallel episode to H&M, and the Tampa Job plot's gone.
