View Full Version : Canoe. Can you?
Meano Franko 03-11-2010, 06:38 PM Remember the canoe chase scene from "The Little Prince"? There were 2 canoes that time traveling Locke and Co. found at the Losties abandoned beach camp. We just returned to the Lostie camp with Ilana and co. and there are no canoes to speak of unless we didn't see them and no character thought it worth discussing out loud. Ilana has at least 2 guns with her, so I can see them being in the rear canoe chasing after TT Locke and shooting at them. A little Miles vs Miles action could get interesting. But my question is, how will the canoes get to the Lostie camp before the chase scene? Chronologically, the last time we saw them was at the dock that leads to Dharmaville / New Otherton, correct?
RoyBatty 03-11-2010, 06:48 PM LOCKE: Come to the other island, to the Hydra station. That's where we'll be.
Canoes in play for certain. I would guess we'll see the inevitable other side of that canoe chase in the finale. Why they end up back at the beach camp is anybody's guess. So... I'll guess.
Locke's side needs to make Molotov cocktails in order to blow up the Black Rock because it's Richard's Constant. Richard, unbeknownst to him, is keeping Jacob in play as part of the "touch" deal. Sawyer is the only one who happens to know there some bottles of vodka are. In his tent in his old stash. Row row row, hike hike hike, boom diggity. One less ship in the middle of the jungle of mystery. But! They've left two out-riggers and a bottle of Ajira water at the old beach camp.
Or.... not. Maybe they just go back for Vincent.
NBC001 03-11-2010, 07:40 PM Chronologically, the last time we saw them was at the dock that leads to Dharmaville / New Otherton, correct?
No! Incorrect.
I was trying to figure this out last night.
There were originally three outriggers on Hydra.
Sun and Frank took one to the docks.
Locke and Ben took one to the docks.
Frank took one back to Hydra.
"Dead is Dead"
[Switch to the beach on the smaller island. Frank is pulling the outrigger onto the shore. A man is running toward him.]
MAN: Captain Lapidus! Captain Lapidus! You're back! Thank God! They found guns!
Ilana Bram and Co then took an outrigger, with Frank in it and Locke in the Box tied to it, back to the Island.
"The Incident"
[Scene moves to a different part of the coast. Ilana, Bram and the other three men of their group are arriving at the shore of the main Island in the remaining outrigger canoe. Lapidus is laid out in the canoe; eyes closed and face up. The large metal crate in their possession is strapped alongside the canoe. Once reaching shore, Ilana and her group exit the canoe and push it onto the beach while Lapidus remains where he is.]
But it wasn't the Beach camp.
So there is one canoe at the docks, one on a beach on the Island and one on Hydra.

They don't look like the same discussion.
Pink Human 03-11-2010, 09:30 PM The whole canoe thing and who will be in it and how is being discussed in that thread, yes, not just the shooting aspect?

Both threads are discussing canoe related topics, correct.
Your link leads me to a "who was shot in the rear canoe?" discussion.
My thread asks where the canoes are and who we think could get them to Camp Lostie, not who was in the rear canoe during the chase.
Now this thread has become a discussion about their differences :)
100%

But it wasn't the Beach camp.
So there is one canoe at the docks, one on a beach on the Island and one on Hydra.
Thank you for the detailed research on the locations of the canoes. Well done.
1-Hydra 1-Dock 1-Unknown beach
Flocke is headed to Hydra with his flock. (pun intended) They could use the dock canoe to get there. Then take 2 back to the main island until everyone has been ferried across. Something may go wrong and both canoes are taken to the Lostie's camp. Then the chase.
CalvinHobbes 03-11-2010, 10:58 PM I thought there were more people in Ilana's entourage. One outrigger was at the dock, the one that brought either Ben and Flocke or the one that brought Sun and Lapidus. One went back to the Hydra and surely it took more than one to bring the Ajira mob to the big island. That would mean three parked at the dock right now.
Okay, so why would Miles and or anybody from Team Jacob want to kill the real Locke? I would think Flocke and his cronies would be the more likely suspects. And right now, they are the more likely group to be using the canoes since Flocke stated his intention of going back to Hydra.

Ilana and Co. (http://gallery.lost-media.com/displayimage.php?pid=130138&fullsize=1) only used one outrigger.

This is a likely scenario, imo. To elaborate a bit on your "something may go wrong": Flocke's group has, as far as we know, Jin, Sawyer, Kate and Claire with them. That's a pretty explosive mix, if you ask me .
Kate will want to save Claire, Jin is looking for Sun. I envision a scenario, where Ben tells team Ilana about Flocke's intention meet up on Hydra. Maybe some of them take the the Ilana-canoe (the one at "some beach") to get to Hydra, too - trying to help/free/save their fellow Losties.
Lostie group fleeing Hydra en route to beach camp in two canoes.
There - two canoes at the beach camp. How this will lead to the infamous canoe-shootout - no idea. I suspect it will occur pretty close to the finale, though. Endgame stuff, possibly.

Very explosive mix. Good call.
beema 03-12-2010, 04:14 PM The canoe will either magically appear out of nowhere, or conveniently find it under a palm frond somewhere. There always seem to be outriggers lying around the Island at various places these days. I don't think there are only three on the entire place.
There's also the possibility that the show will completely ignore this.
