The biggest disappointment I can envision from the ending of LOST is if Alvar Hanso or the DeGroots are at least not mentioned in a significant way. Thoughts?

I don't think so. But I have a feeling that another Hanso is gonna make an appearance pretty soon...;)

That makes sense given what we know about the Black Rock and the allusions to Richard Alpert "in chains" with his episode coming up. Good thinking, hope Magnus turns out to be a good guy!

But I too would be disappointed if Alvar and the DeGroots weren't touched upon. When the websites went up during the off-seasons my friends and I speculated about them a lot, but nothing ever seemed to come of it. :frown:

I think a lot of that will be exposition about the backgrount of the series which isn't really relevant to the characters stories and is just there as backstory for the fans.

I personally couldn't care less. They've been mentioned as background characters, but I don't think they will have any impact on the day-to-day story of the show. I could still be surprised, but I won't be disappointed if we don't see or hear anymore about them.

They will be on the other side of the famous Darlton mystery/non mystery line. Which I don't really have a problem with. But that's just me.
