there is something bothering me.maybe i missed the part that explains why the losties lives are different in the SF prior to boarding the flight 815.I get the after the plane not crashing but not the before so much.is it because jacob never interfered in their lives?Please someone explain this to me.After watching the desmond episode I now have a mind block!

Not only has Jacob not been messing around with their lives (didn't give Sawyer a pen to write his letter, etc), but the island has been underwater, presumably from not-too-long after they set themselves up the bomb. So Charles and Eloise stay together, Charles doesn't ever get exiled from the Island, Juliet never got recruited for The Others, etc, etc. Heck, Miles' parents could still be together; we don't know what else changed.
