Did anyone else catch that? In the scene where Ben is asking him why he's hanging around the school he tells him he's just moved there and is checking out the school for his kid...named Charlie.
So either his recent escapades with Charlie Pace is stuck in his head or he has this idea in the back of his mind if he ever has a son he'll name him after Charles Widmore...
Or does he remembers his son from 'another life'?

I'm leaning toward him remembering his own son. He flashed on the delivery last epi, so I assume he recalls everything from the original timeline.

Maybe his consciousness switch from the alt timeline to the island timeline...that's why he agrees and do what Widmore wants...
and on the contrary in the alt his consciousness became the Des consciousness from the island timeline...the one where he knows he has a child etc...

I thought about this with the island scenes, but didn't think of it here. Good point.

I thought it was kind of obvious; he has a son named Charlie. All of Desmond's actions should be thought of from the perspective that he has bleed-through from the OTL, be it conscious or subconsciously.

It was just like Claire when she gave birth to Aaron. They asked her what name she wanted, and she said Aaron. All the while Kate and Claire kind of looked at each other with a sudden familiarity.
