I have to rewatch the scene from last night's episode, but if I remember correctly, while in the ambulance on his way to the hospital, one of the EMT guys claims that Locke's wheelchair was completely destoyed when Desmond ran him over. I'm pretty certain we saw the wheelchair still standing in the background after the crash last week.

A wheelchairs' spokes would easily be bent or misaligned from that kind of impact -- particularly a wheelchair of that make. They're not manufactured to withstand so much punishment. The chair may look okay, but it might also be more or less useless.

"Destroyed" as in 'useless' was what I got from the paramedic's comment.

Details, details. No one cares about them except the fans. The writers apparently don't feel that they have to be troubled by them. I feel like we are being laughed at for ever thinking details mattered.

I was really worried when I heard the paramedic's comment. I really hope the wheelchair ( I like to call him "Wheelie") is going to be O.K. I have found his story to be one of the most compelling over the last couple of seasons (second only to Lennon). Don't you think its interesting that Lennon has only been seen ON island this season and Wheelie has only been seen OFF island? Suffice to say I am anxiously awaiting the Wheelie- centric episode coming up in a couple weeks, ep 6:14 "Steel Wheels".
