Im sure I just missed something but can someone help me with this. If this season started with the Incident that either did or difnt happen.....werent they still in 1977? Soooooo how exactly can they get back to Aaron or anything in 2007 if they were in 1977 and there have been no flashes?

They seemed to have flashed from 1977 to 2007. Remember that Sun and Lapidus and Ben never went back to 1977.

Your right but my question is when? Did I miss something?

1977 was soo last season ;)

I believe we started this season in 2004 in the alternate timeline and 07 in todays story.

Remember when they found Juliet in the rubble?

When Juliet hit the bomb and it went off, it flashed the 1977 Losties to 2007 (where they joined up with Sun and Frank and Ben, et.al.). :)

In the season premre, Kate woke up hanging on a tree. Eventually the time-flashing Losties gathered at the site of the Swan, which was now a crater following Desmond's turning of the failsafe key. So after Juliet had hit the bomb, the flash transported them back to 2007, together with the Dharma bus.

NCJ, the answer to that question will tell us all the secrets of Lost. The Island flashes have placed the Losties across time, in the proper moment to accomplish a very complex scheme. Daniel had to learn of Jughead in 1954 to ask Jack in 1977 to explode it. Why do Jack & Kate travel to 1977 instead of crashing along with Sun on the Aljera flight. The power that sends the Losties back in time does so with a purpose. They dropped the nuke in 77, but were brought back to 2007 to fulfill what they need to do here. Who or what is behind the time travel is the ultimate hidden player in the Lost story.
btw, thanks NC, I fixed the dates:cool:

Dropped the nuke in 77 but I get what your saying. Its just one of the questions Im afraid we arent going to get a satisfactory answer for

Two thoughts.

1. Kate wasn't in a tree when they flashed. People moved.

2. Juliet was buried in the rubble of the Swan station. Maybe she was actually in exactly the same place.

Digger that was a heck of a point you made but I would swear the machinery with which they were digging was still up top at least that which hadnt gone down. It definitely looked different to me thatn the one huge hole that was left when Des blew up the hatch.

First, the people left behind after the rescue flashed to 1974 (after some other flashes first). They lived in the 70s for three years. The O6 lived off-island for three years. When they returned to the island, they flashed to the time they would be in if they had stayed like they were supposed to, 1977 (unsure about Sun). After the Incident, they returned to 2007. Basically the amount of time spent in the past is the same amount of time spent by the O6 in the "present".

This is a bit more speculation: When they returned they were all where they were at the moment of the Incident. Juliet was in the bottom of what would become the Swan. I'm not sure about Kate, but maybe the tree was a sapling in 1977 (I don't recall how big the tree was. It may have been too big for thirty years' growth).

I guess the assumption is that when Juliet hit the bomb, or whatever event occurred that put Kate up in that tree with temporary hearing loss, the flash occurred then. Jin indicated that the hearing loss was a symptom of flashing.

This is where Jin explains what seems to have happened on-Island (LA X):

HURLEY: [Loudly] What just happened?
JIN: I found a flashlight.
HURLEY: Dude, who cares? The sky just went from day to night. What happened?!
JIN: I think we moved through time.
HURLEY: How do you know that?
JIN: White flash. Headache. Can't hear. Happened to me before.
HURLEY: What about Jack and everyone else? Did they move through time, too?
JIN: I don't know. They took one of the other vans and went up to the worksite.

Hope that helps.

My two cents: I think when Juliet said "it worked" -- she meant that the bomb went off and she stopped the construction of the hatch. But only for the moment. I think it was delayed and they eventually (a month or so) got back on track with construction. The hatch had to be built in order to eventually bring 815 down so that all of that COULD happen. The flashsideways happened as an alternate timeline a month off from the original crash (which we know because of the OCTOBER date on Claire's ultrasound in the FS). I think the FS is what happened because the bomb went off.

Remember when LOCKE went down the well and a time shift happened and the rope disappeared into the ground? Locke survived but was elsewhere... same thing with Juliet and Kate... they are where they WERE. Just later -- Tree grew, hatch exploded, etc.

I disagree. What Juliet wanted was that Sawyer had never been to the island. That was her stated goal. So, her "it worked" thought was that that had been achieved. She became aware of a reality in which Sawyer had never gone to the island. In that moment she probably believed the reality in which she had come from never was.
