View Full Version : Rate the Episode!!! Karri 05-20-2010, 03:00 PM What did you think? Rate it and then discuss the good and the bad. :) Bad_Wobot 05-20-2010, 10:48 PM Where's anybody? lol What an incredible hour of double-the-fun sheer acting & action and A+ greatness from Nimoy the legend. Thank you for that sir. *Vulcan salute* That was the last one ever filmed, I hope. Great way to go outta bizness.:biggrin: Too much to get into all the endless details and throwbacks. I am horridly worried about our Olivia b back tomorrow b4 or after work Friday is #ThankstoLost day ~B_W~ Guinevere 05-21-2010, 02:27 AM Once again, this is a finale that kept me on the edge of my seat! God's tom 05-21-2010, 04:42 AM This one really didn't have many surprises for me. I suspected that our Olivia would try impersonating their's...but somehow, I was thinking that our Olivia would be killed, and their's would change sides and cross over. This turn of events raises a lot of problems for me that are hard to get around. The fake Olivia is gonna have to pass herself off as an FBI/Homeland Security agent. I know we need to suspend our disbelief for the sake of the story, but it seems that there are certain procedures and protocols involved in those agencys that she's gonna have to bull**** her way through...(and I'll just about bet she aint gonna fool her sister and neice for very long! And I cant wait 'till she comes across an Observer! You know there had to be one there somewhere when she pulled the switch! September will probably be the one to blow the whistle on her!) My main problem with this episode is that it seemed rushed...I mean, Peter's gone last week...and figures out Walternate's sceme and returns this week. I expected him to be over there a lot longer! One last thing - Bell's comment to Peter about being surprised at how well he's holding up struck me as meaning that he expected Peter to have suffered some bad effects from having lived all this time in the wrong universe. I wonder how that will play out? wombat2 05-21-2010, 06:46 AM I really enjoyed this episode. The only real issue I had was I don't see how it was possible for AltLivia to swap with Olivia. At the shootout our Olivia was wearing a red top under a black jacket and AltLivia was wearing a white/grey top under a dark blue pullover. It didn't seem like there was time for AltLivia to swap clothes as we heard the explosion and immediately after AltLivia was waking up Bell. Other than that I thought it was a good episode and a fitting end for the season. It also had one of the best lines in a Fringe episode so far: Walter: It was Wednesday 1983, when I happened to identify the last of the eleven secret herbs and spices. Followed by Bell's WTF look. driveshaft76 05-21-2010, 08:44 AM It was a great episode, I only gave it a 9 because I saw the Olivia swap coming from a mile away. We don't really know exactly how much time passed between when the grenade went off and when Alt-Liv woke up Bell. 5 minutes would have been enough time for her to shoot/tranq Olivia and swap clothes. Doesn't seem too unreasonable to me. Big kudos for Nimoy, he was just fan-freaking-tastic. That "they have the 76, this is the 77" scene was so awesome. The little details of how the universes are different is what I loved the best. The comics on the wall were awesome. Red Lantern instead of Green Lantern. Batman logo that was black and red instead of black and yellow. The giant amber quarantine was really cool and is a nice call back to season 1 when they had the same thing happen on our side in the bus. souidos 05-21-2010, 04:51 PM I can't believe how it is possible that there are people rating this episode with 10. I feel ashamed watching fringe for 2 seasons. This episode was a joke and the last one for me. ronmossad 05-21-2010, 05:13 PM souidos you can't be serious??? One last thing - Bell's comment to Peter about being surprised at how well he's holding up struck me as meaning that he expected Peter to have suffered some bad effects from having lived all this time in the wrong universe. I wonder how that will play out? Well - we saw what happened to the X-men who crossed to their side. Pretty oogly results...this only adds to the concept that going across universes is hazardous to your health. I hope they address this soon because it looks like they actually had a point to having all of them self-destruct instead of having nothing for them to do. If I had to complain about something about this episode, I'd say I was upset to see Bell go out so quickly...especially with how awesome he was in this episode. I guess there's nothing they could do since Nimoy was retiring but damn, I would have liked to see him pop up a few more times in the series. LostLaura 05-25-2010, 10:53 PM Seriously, too bad there will be no more William Bell on the show. :( Saw the Liv switch a million miles away, so that was anticlimactic. But otherwise, it was a really good episode. Not as good as the 1st half, so I kind of wish I had rated this one a 9, but what can ya do. Gave it a 10. I am also pretty surprised that they are already back in this world and that Peter has started to forgive Walter. I don't see how in the world AltLiv can pull this off. ESPECIALLY with Peter now that they've kissed and know each other so well.... Oh now I remember how this ep has to be a 10. Olivier kiss! Man that was s good. And now I am totally worried about our Liv! gallivant 06-08-2010, 06:56 PM Just caught this in the UK - didn't know there was a discussion board about Fringe before tonight... well I loved this finale. Taking the 2 parts as a whole, I simply adored the 'differences' between the two worlds. I think I would rather have seen Peter beginning to 'doubt' the altworld for a little longer and even show he was homesick - in particular that he missed 'our' Walter. However, there might be physical reasons why Peter couldn't be allowed to stay TOO long in the altworld, judging by Bell's final comments. It was obvious that Altlivia would swap from the moment that Olivia dyed her hair. I wondered if the whole fight/K.O. scene in Altlivia's flat was a set-up to ensure Altivia got into 'our' world. The sticking point is bound to be Peter (post-kiss) as Altlivia won't know of this, though suspects Peter has feelings for Olivia. But also Olivia's niece might be key in sussing out that Altlivia is not who she says she is. Altogether a cracking end to a brilliant season. This is one of the best shows on TV right now, and i can't wait for S3. Sam G 06-08-2010, 10:34 PM gallivant Glad you found your way over here. Mesa 06-16-2010, 12:18 AM The past few weeks I've been watching the episodes catching up (never seen Fringe before) and I must say this show is amazing. It's unfortunate that there are so few members on this side. Although I just watched both parts 1 and 2 together, I have to say each was excellent! This is a great show and I'm so happy I found it. They certainly changed the game on this show. I've never seen an alternate universe done so satisfyingly, and I hope the cast is ready for a much tougher job next season! Sam G 06-16-2010, 08:50 PM I'm hoping over the summer people start looking for another show that asks you to think. There are a few of us that are on the blue side of the board. We've been waiting for more people to join in. Fringe has some great actors but the best part is the chemistry that they seem to have with each other. They weathered the second season, a huge change in the writing staff and a move to Vancouver. I think they are just hitting their stride now. LostLaura 06-22-2010, 07:59 PM Glad you found us over here, Mesa. I am still hoping to do a rewatch S1 and S2 rewatch this summer. I haven't fully committed to getting the DVDs and doing it. Does anyone know when it comes back on the air for S3? I wonder how much time I have... It's almost July! Mesa 06-22-2010, 09:31 PM Glad you found us over here, Mesa.
