View Full Version : Ben, Danielle, and Alex
Margalit 05-18-2010, 10:34 PM What a wonderfully heartwarming scene to see them all together (for "coq au vin" night!) It's amazing that they got Mira Furlan to come back (and she looked wonderful!) and allow Ben to feel affirmed as Alex's father-figure.
Coyote 05-18-2010, 10:42 PM It really was touching.
Patriccio 05-18-2010, 10:47 PM Danielle cleans up well! Wow.
GettinLost 05-18-2010, 10:52 PM It was really good to see Danielle - and yes - she looked very lovely!! What a "weird" little family they would make...
EdMuse 05-18-2010, 11:32 PM I loved that! I was sitting in the balcony with Myha at LOST Live, and we were cheering at that scene. Not only do Alex's mother and adoptive father get together, but Myha and Secoura have been writing for weeks about those two hooking up in a role play thread on this board!
I loved the comment about Danielle kidnapping Ben! Totally didn't catch that on first watching. And I loved that it wasn't this big, overt love scene, just a subtle "next time" that indicated that Ben wasn't just a one-time dinner guest, but that there was a future, there.
I now officially hope the sideways timeline doesn't completely collapse, because I want them to be a lovely happy family.
Cardielost 05-18-2010, 11:36 PM When we discovered in S5 that Ben had spared Danielle's life, and then when he told Alex her mother would protect her, I got a shippy vibe from them (not that that situation turned out well at all!) So I was very happy to see this. But if Ben ever gets full recall of what he did in the original reality, I don't know how he could continue as the mousy, dedicated school teacher.

Facehead 05-18-2010, 11:43 PM Emotionally, it was the best part of the episode. I was thrilled, and it was done so well. Perhaps the first time I've thought of Ben as being "cute" in any sense.
AboutBunnies 05-18-2010, 11:55 PM Loved it! It was so touching to see this lonely guy realize how much he was valued by this family, and that there was a future with them...not even necessarily in the married sense, but that theirs would be an ongoing relationship, where he was appreciated and admired by people he could appreciate and admire. Who knew we could ever root for Ben!!! But I loved it. I too hope this timeline doesn't collapse.
bousha1 05-19-2010, 02:22 AM i was waiting for this thread. They have been Alex's parent's in different realities, so it is fitting that they would come together, in a way that only LOST could pull off. and the sweetness between them was so touching.
Guinevere 05-19-2010, 02:35 AM I love it. So sweet and I got tickled at Ben's "deer in the headlights" look. Like has been said, the fact the he was made to feel valued just made me smile and touched my heart.
NathanielStarr 05-19-2010, 02:41 AM If Ben is playing MIB then he will get a piece of Danielle otherwise if he is being his greedy selfish self he will get the cosmic **** block.
lowerstreet 05-19-2010, 02:42 AM I thought it was a creepy... a high school teacher as "the closest thing she has to a father"? I wanted to be moved, but thought it struck the wrong chord.
Secoura 05-19-2010, 05:14 AM I loved that! I was sitting in the balcony with Myha at LOST Live, and we were cheering at that scene. Not only do Alex's mother and adoptive father get together, but Myha and Secoura have been writing for weeks about those two hooking up in a role play thread on this board!

Myha and I are psychic
But seriously, that was such a sweet scene and I think sideways-Ben teared up because his memories of the island timeline included the memories of Alex dying :frown:
-calypso- 05-19-2010, 06:26 AM Are we supposed to deduce she was Annie?
crandal87 05-19-2010, 08:31 AM It was nice to see Danielle dressed up looking lovely for a change. She reminded me of a French Liz Hurley
the exiled 05-19-2010, 09:03 AM Watching the actors on Lost is a real treat. Last night Michael Emerson was Incredible!!!
Just his walk to the chair & how he sat down after Richard was killed, without dialogue, is a Lost moment I will never forget.
Go Team Ben/Danielle/Alex!!!
DiggerMole 05-19-2010, 09:20 AM Are we supposed to deduce she was Annie?
...No. Give it up. Annie is a character everyone thought was important but, in the long run, was not at all. Rousseau has a French accent, for goodness sakes.
aurorawest 05-19-2010, 09:25 AM It was a lovely scene and beautifully acted -- definitely my favourite part of the episode.
