That decanter, that we all have assumed has wine in it...I would suggest its vintage perhaps in the future is from a vinyard named McCutcheon's.
The bottels of insanely priced liquor may contain drops of that sacred water, the water that seems to allow people to see the light...this epi it was just water that Jacob gave Jack. If that water somehow has left the island and added to that liquor, it would explain why Widmore has some, why he is very particular who can drink it , and why it is so very pricy.
Think about this, and help me trace the story of the McCutcheon's...who has actually drank that stuff?

This would be a funny twist, but I just can't imagine them going into a whole backstory about McCutcheon at this point.
