Boards are quiet tonight.

I plan on watching till the end. I guess there's not a whole lot to theorize on, so maybe that's why no one is here.

Well, it was fun while it lasted!

I will watch til the end also. Do you know if the writers were able to adjust the ending once they found out it would not be renewed, or was it too late to change anything?

So, no, I haven't jumped ship.

I certainly hope the were able to adjust the ending to tie things up. I read a quote that Goyer said he "Didn't see it coming.", so weather the had time to actually adjust the ending is hard to tell.

I just hope if they did, it won't be cheesy.

Read somewhere that the actor who plays lloyd said it would be a good finale.

And your birthday. Happy birthday dude. :hb2:

I think if the series had not overlapped Lost it would have been more active. I have a feeling that the network may not be interested anymore in the "high concept mystery series" format.

I thought tonight was going toi be the finale and was dreading it. I was thrilled that I have one more week. I haven't jumped ship. I even email Fox asking them to pick up the show. :fingersx:

In a way the series has to survive the network's "off with it's head" Red Queen insanity and also it's own wrap up so as to close up the arc but leave an opening for a series revival.

Thanks!

And I agree that it's overlap with Lost is probably responsible for its subdued forum activity and lack of a larger close-following. I said myself back when the FF arg was going on: I'm not going to have time to delve deeply in to this show when Lost's final season is going on at the same time!

Although, with the amount of people that have been putt-off by this season of Lost, I'm not sure whether or not it would of done FF any good to preview/entice people right now, and then premiere this fall. A lot of people might just of been like "well, I'm not getting invested in another show after what happened with Lost."
But, that said, I think there would of been a very significant amount of people who would of said "hey... what's this? Something to fill the gap in my TV life now that Lost is gone!"

I will ride this great show to the very end. Unfortunately, the end is very close. :rip: I'm on the West Coast but I always peek in on the Watching Live East Coast thread and I didn't see anyone there last night. :sadwave:

Happy Birthday, Beema! :hapybday: I looked for you last night and then remembered you said you would be at a Lost event for your birthday.

Did you post anything about the event over on The Fuselage?

I wondered if they were going to leave an opening for a revival in the finale. It will be interesting to see how they do it and it might show us whether or not FF lives on.

Whether we continue the fight to save the series will depend on how it is wrapped up. I'd like a nifty conclusion that allows the larger unanswered questions and mythology to go on somehow/somewhere. I'm in a fetal position (or more accurately assuming the Ouroboros position and sucking on my toes lol) fearing we are going to lose this fantastic and deeply laid out story. I'm furious at the network for the extremely poor decision that they made.

I'm guessing V is cheaper to keep her but I can't believe that V is going to continue but Flash Forward won't. I don't get it.

ehh... kind of. Originally I was just planning on going to the Times Talks Live simulcast Lost interview. There's stuff about that in the Lost Talk section. In addition to that I decided to go to a Lost Finale happy hour hosted by people who write about Lost for the Washington Post (which was held directly before the simulcast!). So I went to both. Rushing between the two was... fun... lol. Had a good time at both, although the best Lost moment of the day came when a friend of mine told me what he thinks the end will be circa 3am that night... hehe.

I'm guessing V is cheaper to keep her but I can't believe that V is going to continue but Flash Forward won't. I don't get it.

I really don't see V continuing much longer either. They probably figured if they canceled both at once it would piss off too many people. I bet they cancel V halfway in to next season.

V isn't starting back til mid season. I think ABC will find that unless there is nothing on the other stations that they chose wrong. FF has a much more thought provoking theme than carnivorous lizards.

Somehow I don't think we will be happy with the wrap up but they didn't really give us a choice.

Well, ABC has left themselves a loophole. All the promos for FF still say season finale not series finale, small loophole. They could also be trying to gage their audience. I don't thin Neilson is a very reliable source for these things anymore. So many of the shows are streamed so many (Illegal) ways there's no count. Although, they are only worried about people that are watching the commercials.

It's so very important that to keep the shows we want to see being picked up by the networks that we watch live as much as possible. I watched every single episode live this season but for many with busy lives and distractions it means the DVR gets employed. Nielsen is a horrible and antiquated method of "polling" from a small sample of randomly picked households. The only way to do this right is to measure the real numbers by some much more accurate technology. I suppose the satellite and cable companies report (sell) viewership numbers to networks but an overhaul is necessary.

Haven't been on the boards lately but I'm definitely still watching the show, right to the (bitter) end. Still hope that someone else will pick it up and will follow it there (assuming it's done as well).
