When Vincent laid down next to Jack. It would have been even more sad if the dog that they got to play Vincent actually looked like the original one. It looked like he managed to find the fountain of youth...

View Full Version : Saddest part of the entire series... dpayne82 05-24-2010, 12:35 AM When Vincent laid down next to Jack. It would have been even more sad if the dog that they got to play Vincent actually looked like the original one. It looked like he managed to find the fountain of youth... beema 05-24-2010, 12:37 AM vincent looked like he lost a lot of weight I guess the Island diet finally got to him but yeah, that was sad, but, at least he has rose and bernard's happy home to go back to Dan23X 05-24-2010, 12:59 AM at first i was like, "Kinda cheezy, not necessary." then when he laid down i was like omg this is amazing. And then the plane went overhead. Saddest and Best ending ever. darwatcher 05-24-2010, 01:01 AM It was one of the saddest scenes, up there with Charlies death! AshliBrooke83 05-24-2010, 01:52 AM When Vincent laid down next to Jack. It would have been even more sad if the dog that they got to play Vincent actually looked like the original one. It looked like he managed to find the fountain of youth... I agree. Genetrix 05-24-2010, 01:56 AM This was definitely the saddest scene ever, and I'm not exaggerating. The special thing about this scene was that it was interlaced with the happiest scene ever from the point of view of the same character... Which made it even sadder, in a happy way, because you knew he would be in a better place. Then he looks overhead and smiles because the plane got off the island and he believes his job is done... I didn't cry at all (except a little tear when Jack left Kate) until Vincent came to lay down next to Jack for a little comfort while he died. Dogs always get to me. I believe that's what a good dog would have done, too. tuxthecutey 05-24-2010, 03:52 AM as predictable as it was it was a fantastic ending scene for jack's on-island persona and i had tears in my eyes. i'm so happy vincent was ok! Pink Human 05-24-2010, 03:57 AM Wow, I've been rooting for Vincent for a long time, and I hated this ending. jedimasterchief9 05-24-2010, 04:00 AM It really brought LOST full circle. It was really touching. Adam118 05-24-2010, 04:02 AM Wow, I've been rooting for Vincent for a long time, and I hated this ending. I disagree. If Vincent died in some cheap way, speared by others or something, I agree. 100% For me, it was when Locke's casket was opened in front of the statue. sttct 05-24-2010, 04:06 AM I thought it was great. Jack didn't die alone as per his motto. pizzapie 05-24-2010, 04:24 AM Live together, die alone.... but not in a dog's world. Michaud 05-24-2010, 05:02 AM When Vincent laid down next to Jack. It would have been even more sad if the dog that they got to play Vincent actually looked like the original one. It looked like he managed to find the fountain of youth... Vincent has been played by two Labradors for a while now - Madison and Pono -so there will have been other occasions when Vincent may not have looked 'Vincent' enough. They initially brought Pono in to use in a flashback, because he was the younger dog. Unless they were using Pono in The End, it was the same dog - she's just aged a bit in six years. I used to live with two Labs and six years is virtually two-thirds of their average life span. They age quite a bit in that time. hakwam 05-24-2010, 05:07 AM Deffinetly the sadest scene, both because it was an emotional part, and it was the end. I cried during, because Jack Shephard was such a important character for the last few years in my life, and how well the scene was done. Steph 05-24-2010, 06:27 AM THe whole monatge of Jack dying and the ALT meeting up was just heartbreaking razzie33 05-24-2010, 06:30 AM Vincent made me cry too - give that dog an Emmy! :) gn33 05-24-2010, 06:44 AM I thought it was great. Jack didn't die alone as per his motto. I was about to say the same thing. That whole part was so emotional, so many thoughts go through your head. But if there was anything "heartfelt" about that, it's the fact that Jack didn't die alone. Man's best friend indeed. Jack could've died frowning that he was alone, but he had a smile before he died knowing that his friends made it off, and most importantly.. not alone. That whole scene with the switching back and forth was simply breathtaking. I've watched that scene multiple times, and it's hard not to cry. Sad to see Jack die, but at least he wasn't alone. JeffinBoca 05-24-2010, 06:51 AM I thought it indicated that the original plane crash had no survivors. Jack and Vincent both died in 2004, and the entire series was Jack's near-death experience. Kristene 05-24-2010, 07:24 AM I was afraid Jack was going to die alone... but then Vincent showed up! SO bittersweet! workingmom 05-24-2010, 08:18 AM It really brought LOST full circle. It was really touching. It did bring Lost full circle. Jack had finished his "work" that Christian had sent Vincent to get him started on (in that mobisode) and most importantly, he didn't have to die alone. NBC001 05-24-2010, 08:32 AM This was definitely the saddest scene ever, and I'm not exaggerating. I believe that's what a good dog would have done, too. Mosaic_ Hyde reminded me of this..... Dog spelled backwards is......;) BLUEFROGBOOGIE 05-24-2010, 09:09 PM I felt that Vincent was special from the beginning. Viincent was probably the purest soul on the island and deserved to go into the light, too. I guess if he had been in the church, the ending would not have been half as poignant. As someone who just recently put down their golden/lab mix.....I totally lost it and cried like a baby. Good dog, Vincent. NCJames 05-24-2010, 09:18 PM The mixing of Jack's death....all the while trying to get to a place he could make sure his friends did escape......with the visions of Jack and all our Losties happier than they ever were was heartbreaking enough for me. But then yuo add in Vincent coming to Jack's side in his death and it wrenches it even more. Pile the fact that its the last show ever and we have no more new LOST ever and it just did me in. I will miss this show more than I can say. God bless everyone associated with this show, cast crew etc for providing us with six years of outstanding entertainment. simone5p 05-24-2010, 09:48 PM Vincent lying down next to Jack killed me. It was perfect. AnnieBW 05-24-2010, 10:42 PM Remember that Jack's line was always "live together, die alone." I took Vincent laying down beside him to signify that Jack didn't die alone. Someone was there with him at the end. After all, "dog" is "God" in reverse. Lunch 05-24-2010, 10:46 PM I'm not gonna lie. I'm not a Jack fan, I'm not a fan of the ending, but if it wasn't for that darn dog I wouldn't have felt anything at all during that part.... then I wondered why Vincent wasn't in the church. They said they wouldn't kill him... so maybe he's the new Richard? Blue Coral 05-24-2010, 10:46 PM Vincent laying next to Jack was very touching, I agree! They said they wouldn't kill him... so maybe he's the new Richard? Maybe Vincent wasn't in the church because he will wait to move on with Walt ;) hjr 05-24-2010, 11:51 PM Beautiful thought. It would fit in with Walt dying after all the other main characters, if there's some sense of time in that place. Lunch 05-24-2010, 11:54 PM Aw. That would make sense. Out of everyone on the island, Walt was probably closest to his dog. :) I hope they found each other. dpayne82 05-25-2010, 12:03 AM I'm not gonna lie. I'm not a Jack fan, I'm not a fan of the ending, but if it wasn't for that darn dog I wouldn't have felt anything at all during that part.... then I wondered why Vincent wasn't in the church. They said they wouldn't kill him... so maybe he's the new Richard? I completely agree. I kept looking at the clock saying "man there is only like two minutes left, and I haven't been blown away, I really don't like where the show is going." Then Vincent lays down, and we zoom into the eye closing... That was perfect. Now the whole church scene, well that's another story, but neither here nor there. Viva la Vincent! monkeypoo 05-25-2010, 02:12 AM This still makes me well up thinking about it now :( Michaud 05-25-2010, 06:13 AM Kills me every time I see him lie down next to Jack. Theodwra 05-25-2010, 06:33 AM Kills me every time I see him lie down next to Jack. Speaking of "next to", if everything is synced up by the end between Island and FS, does that make Kate Jack's dog? Jack's god? Michaud 05-25-2010, 07:05 AM Speaking of "next to", if everything is synced up by the end between Island and FS, does that make Kate Jack's dog? Jack's god? Jack's protector/minder/guardian angel/soul mate? Nice thought. |
